Koei-Tecmo released their E3 trailer for Dead or Alive 5 today, which starts off with a showdown between Kokoro and Akira. However, it ends with a short scene with Zack giving instructions to an off-screen fighter, who is none other than Sarah!

While we don't get to see her fight in the trailer, we'll probably get to see a glimpse of her in action very, very soon!

On the eve of the day that the PS3 Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown version is available for download on Tuesday, UltraChen TV - a general fighting game talk show that discusses a wide variety of subject matters - will have a Virtua Fighter Special on Monday at 8 PM PST. They will have LA Akira as a guest to help gamers of other fighting games learn about the Virtua Fighter system.

As part of the celebration and promotion of the console release of VF5FS, two game launch tournaments/events will be occurring in Australia: Melbourne's Couchwarriors and Sydney's Ozhadou. Not only can VF enthusiasts fight to their hearts content, but those wanting to learn more about the game, these might be the events for you! There is a total of eight Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown game codes that will be given away related to these events (4 before the events and 4 during the events!)

Some last minute scheduling have allowed Sega to bring VF5FS to the Northwest Majors in Des Moines, Washington - June 2nd-3rd! The tournament will be the first 64 players that registered. The tournament starts on Saturday around 2 PM PST and will be streamed throughout the entire day Saturday by Khaos Gaming TV Channel! In addition, top 4 will be streamed on Sunday at ~11:15 PST on the main stream channel Team Khaos Channel. Thanks to Femto and Chanchai for providing the information!

Level|Up Live will be hosting a special VF5FS tourney on their regular occurring Wednesday Night Fights (WNF) series on June 6th--the Xbox360 console release date of the game (June 5th is for the PS3). This will be at the Super Arcade in Walnut, California with the tourney to start ~ 9 PM PST.

If you live in the greater Los Angeles area, go meet fellow VF enthusiasts and celebrate the console release of VF5FS by visiting the Super Arcade!

Sega of America recently released a short documentary video from the Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Pre-Launch Party. It features Chibita, Fuudo, Alex Valle, Westtrade, LA, and Plague as they talked about various aspects of the game but focuses mainly on the community aspect and how it has affected their lives. I think this quote from the video sums it up nicely!

Thanks for everyone's patience. We're now on a new kick-ass server which should hopefully result in a more stabilised experience from now on.

Most of the VFDC features should be back to normal, however, there are some remaining kinks in the system that I'm trying to work out, and a minor forum update was also necessary. You can read more about these in detail after the jump.

And of course, if you find something not working the way it used to, please let me know in this thread!

VFDC will be unavailable from midnight Thursday UTC, while some important maintenance work will be carried out. Specific times for major cities are shown below:
