An article on a First Look at Figma Virtua Fighter Figures was recently published on ToyArk which is worth checking out for any VF collector enthusiast. It has a preview (unpainted) prototypes of two characters - Akira and Sarah - in their original polygonal glory! The images and original source is courtesy of the hobby news site amiami.jp.
In case you didn't know, thanks to the impressive efforts of the Canada VF community, Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown is officially a main game at Canada Cup 2015 this Halloween weekend! Not only will this be a chance to see some of the best of North American VF, there are a few VF legends and all around pros of the FGC who will be entering, including Fuudo, Ryan Hart, Itabashi Zangief, and even the 3rd Strike god himself, MOV(!).
Sunday 20 September 2015 sees the 4th round of the VFR Official Seed Trial Match. This VF5FS 5-on-5 team tournament takes place at Game Centre Newton and scheduled to start at 11 AM Tokyo time.
Netherlands-based art dealers Cook & Becker have been churning out museum-grade prints for a while now, with a recent focus on SEGA properties like Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Jet Set Radio. Today, C&B unveils their tribute to Virtua Fighter 2, illustrated by Gerald Parel.
Hello Virtua Fighter community! I'm EXTREMELY pleased to announce that VF5:FS will be an official part of the game lineup at Cali Crush! We've always been big Virtua Fighter fans and it was our intent from immediately after last year's event to see if we can make this happen.
This is largely possible due to the overwhelming amount of support and response from the VF.com community when we put up our survey. So for that, we thank you.

In case you missed it, the tenth New York Gathering (NYGX) took place last weekend 14-16 August 2015, with players travelling from around the US, Canada and not to mention one crazy Aussie! It was an event-filled weekend full of amazing moments, memories, and of course, some crazy matches! Jump in for links to results, pics, and shout outs!
This past weekend was a significant one for the VF community, and before the dust settles on NYGX I'd like to get a discussion going about everyone's experience with the event. this won't be the last NYG, and your feedback can help us improve future events and the scene as a whole.
New York isn't the only place to play VF this year - due to the devotion of the Toronto Virtua Fighter scene, VF5FS has been added to Canada Cup 2015's lineup of official games for the first time in the tournament series' history! Early bird registration is live right now, so if you register within the next 21 days you'll be entering the tournament at a discounted rate.
Hard to believe, isn't it? Somewhere in the hubbub of E3 megatons this year flew by for me. It feels like just yesterday I was sharing that first trailer - but that was like, 5 months ago. And now, we are mere weeks away from NYGX - and it's looking like it's going to be the biggest Virtua Fighter event outside of Japan this year. While you may scoff and think "some accomplishment that is", bear in mind that this year we've seen Virtua Fighter flourish in Canada, having landed tournaments and stream time at CECC2, Toryuken 4, and later this year, Canada Cup.
So, with all that in mind, I'm proud to say that NYGX will be bigger and better for VF than any of those. We've got confirmed guests flying in from all over the continental US including longtime vets like @adamYUKI , as well as community beacon @BLACKSTAR coming in from Georgia - and that flourishing Canadian scene? Yeah, they'll be at NYGX too! Long-time VFDC emperor @Myke is coming in from The Land Down Under after devastating Toronto with his Kage (I spoke to them after to confirm their devastation). Much of this is owed to the dedication and hard work of @cruzlink2 without whom NYGX would not exist.
If you can, join us next month while we celebrate the 10th NYG with a truly special event. Virtua Fighter Remix, Virtua Fighter Kids, Virtua Fighter 3, Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned and Virtua Fighter 5R will all be present and playable in their arcade incarnations, and Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown will take the main stage with singles and team tournaments throughout the weekend. NYGX will take place at Next Level Arcade in Brooklyn NY from August 14th through August 16th - hope to see you there.
