<span style='font-size: 17pt'>VF5 at World Cyber Games 2008</span>
The World Cyber Games is the world's first "Cyber Game Festival", designed to build a healthy cyber culture. The best gamers around the world gather into different cities to share the excitement and fun of the game tournaments.

[IMG]For the first time at WCG, Virtua Fighter 5 on the Xbox 360, will be a featured game at this prolific event. This serves as a significant milestone in the history of Virtua Fighter, particularly outside of Japan, in that it is being recognised on a global scale in the Pro Gaming circuit for the very first time.

To some this news may seem long overdue, and to others the timing may appear to be just right. With the introduction of Online versus in the Xbox 360 version, VF5 has experienced a revival of sorts with many new players quickly rising in skill level with daily competition at hand. VF5 at WCG 2008 may yet add more fuel to the competitive fire that's currently ablaze!

Time to start training! Are you ready?

Revolution. Rival. Reality. Reinforce. Returns

[IMG]Revealed in a demo trailer at the 2008 AOU show, Virtua Fighter 5 R shows two additional characters, one of them pictured here while the other, briefly seen in the AOU demo, appears to be Taka Arashi, the sumo wrestler introduced in the VF3 series, but then omitted from VF4. Also shown in the clip are new stage designs including a combination of highwall and open features, as well as non-square shaped in structure.

[IMG]<span style='font-size: 17pt'>VF5 Ver.D Announced</span>

The latest update on the Official Virtua Fighter 5 Website has announced Ver.D for the Arcade (Japan only).

Ver.D has no new gameplay changes over Ver.C.

Aside from the new items, item-based animations, and costumes, Ver.D introduces Knockout Trial 2 (a 1P mode) and VF5 Official Open Battle.

Open Battle is a way of organising a tournament at a local arcade with no special entry requirements, nor the need of any official staff. You accumulate points with each match you win, and the player with the highest amount of points at the end of the tournament period is the winner. You can win "official points" this way, which can be used in the shop to buy stuff.

[IMG]<span style='font-size: 17pt'>VF5 XBOX 360 Gone Gold and XBLM Demo</span>

The latest word is that Virtua Fighter 5 on XBOX 360 has gone gold, which means the game has been finalised and is ready for production.

What this essentially means is that the set of features that have been reported by various media sources is probably close to, if not the final, feature set. Hoping for a record option in Training seems to have been a lost cause!

In other news, a demo of Virtua Fighter 5 is now available for download on XBOX Live Marketplace. The download weighs in at just under 700 MB, and features 4 selectable characters (Akira, Sarah, Eileen, El Blaze) and 2 game modes (Arcade, Versus).

This is a great move to help increase exposure of the series, and introduce the game to new players.

Let your XBOX 360 friends know about it!
