Ignorance grows everywhere. But no, my scene does not call me a cheater, at least not beyond satirically.

Hitbox is good to go at Southtown Arcade. Me and Romon (ex-pad player) use it. Aside from Haunts making a joke on stream about banning them a few months ago no one thinks of it as a cheat device.

The only game I can think of where exploits are possible is Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 since the hitbox can be made to block in both directions and even still it was programmed into the game to be possible and is possible with a gamepad where you can use d-pad and analog stick to block both ways. Maybe they should ban gamepads also for that game.

If someone were to rewire a regular joystick they could make it so that you can block both directions by holding one of the buttons too. My stick dosen't let me do that tho it chooses one direction over the others.

No any aggro on me - because HBX is not a cheat. Cheating is using macros programs. HBX - is like playing on KEYBOARD(2,4,6,8) and we have many players using keyboards from PC.

    Interesting.
I have got message HBX will be forbidden on WGC (hope this will be proven false) and I was more or less directly accused of being cheater because I decide to even try hitbox and because I get one several times.

On other hand true is our community os damn retrograde - when I get 1st stick we ever had here around( that was back in 2003), I was told multiple times I am stupid, it is gimmick, I will never be as good as aonyone on pad... and that stick is only for wannabe-pros and cheaters. And yes, here around we had no arcades never ever and everyone was accustomed to play on pad since PS1 tekken release - or on keyboard since MK1 release.

It's just another input method really, and it still will require skill to use to the fullest just like a pad or joystick. If I could hook up the game to my thoughts and just think instead of moving my hands, that'd be even better. It's just a new input method when it comes down to it.

Nothing special about if you ask me.... I used a keyboard for years playing 2 player DOS mugen with Cidkid.. Only problem was on keyboard doing 360 motions perfect and pressing more than 3 buttons at a time... I pretty nasty with it if i say so myself. So i know the hit box is noting special really. I guess thats why im not hype when i see people use it.

HitBox is the future, but its really just another input device. I'm gonna give one a go since two of our players use them. As long as the game is programmed well, it doesn't break the game. It just looks boring to play on.

This would be cool for writing music, would make life a ton easier. Games are fine with your hands though, half the fun is in the controls :p

I am messing around with my HBX and I like it more and more.
But latetly I run in problems with doing wolfs 2_36P in juggles. Normally it is OK (you have half eternity to buffer it) but in some chracter-specific juggles you need to buffer it ASAP.
I found thta fastes way to do this without risking I will get 2_3P is 3236+P
    Basically:
    press F and D buttons
    release F, hold D
press F again, still hold D
    release D, press P
Basically from what I tested I can input whole move with this within 7 or 8 frames with no risk to drop it. "Standard" 336 need about 12 frames, else you can not be 100 % sure you will not get 2_3P.

I do not know if any other character can have such issues or can use this technique, but for such case I decide to share what I have found.

I have a question for you:
WHY you select to bind "G" on R1 (Ring finger button)?

If your STAGGER RECOVERY TECHNIC is: holding by Thumb G-button + Index finger slide from right-to-left (aka G>K>P),
then G-button (that is tapping by Index finger) DOES NOT RECOGNIZED (and not accelerate Stagger recovery) because prevented by holded by Thumb other G-button?!
It seems its better to bind P+K+G on R1.

    GENERAL question:
    1. Simultaneously pressed buttons (for ex P+K+G) recognized as 1 or as 3 buttons (signals) which is better for Stagger recovery?
    2. Holded buttons (for ex G) are again recognized as new input after pressing and releasing any other button?

I don't hold G...I release it before I start sliding to the other buttons then slide back to G.

I think pressing 2 buttons simultaneously whether purposely or accidental is counter productive in getting the most inputs recognized.

I can not practice on my HBX a lot - during nights it is too loud so it will wake up my whife, at work I can not have such piece of gaming hardware at the table...
    ...
So I created the HBX dummy, where I can practice stuff and working on my muscle memory without having any issues
    [IMG]
    Tadaa! :D

Piece of cardboard, printed HBX template, few coins and a bit of glue :D

PS: Yes, it is helping me a lot :D

I've noticed that i have to slow down how quickly I cancel my evade or press G after the 2 direction evade. Otherwise it either won't come out and I'll just end up crouching normally. I have to actually force a pause in there, while with a joystick I could never do that on purpose. I'm actually going to have to practice slowing down the evade cancel down.

Just a quick question... I adapt prety decently to the up/down thing HBX have (with up being on the bottom); but I still can not adapt it in evades...
I mean, like... You wish to evade TO the screen, you need to press the top button. You need to evade out of screen, you need to press the bottom button. Is it just me, or do anyone else face this issue s well? And if yes, how did you overcome it (except simplay playing and getting experience :) )? It is killing me a LOT lately :(

I have it to a degree still. See the drills I wrote up, that's how I'm dealing with it. That and combo practice are great ways to speed up the process.

It just depends what the move you're trying to avoid seeing is. For Aoi, she has both a 33P+K and a 2_3P+K. But I've found all I need to do is this, basically:

    3 (release)> 3+P+K (pressed at the same time) = 33P+K
    3(release) > 3 (release) > P+K = 2_3P+K

Although, there might also be some timing requirement I'm fulfilling with those inputs that I don't consciously pay attention to.

I think you're fulfilling the from crouch only property of 2_3P+K by buffering in a crouch dash before the P+K. I bet if you press 3,3_P+K you'll get 2_3P+K.

The reverse situation also holds true, though it is less restrictive. You can't do moves like 33P+K from crouching when you have an overlapping input that has a restriction like "from full crouch," so the fastest way to get to standing from crouching is with a forward dash. If you're crouched, you can buffer in a dash and then 33P+K and 33P+K will come out (albeit one frame slower than normal).
