and I thought I was bad at 67% I can just imagine how bad it is for to get any matches at 70% and higher, and I am already having a hard time doing it at a slightly lower number

The thing that says "X% preferred you or didn't submit a review" is complete BS, it does not include people who didn't submit a review at all. I was shocked to see that apparently 50% of people avoid me, then one day it changed to 40%, then 33%, then 29%. Which basically means 2 people avoided me and the number preferring me was going up steadily by 1, from 2 to 3 to 4 etc. And I have played hundreds of games, therefore there is no way it is including people who don't review you in that percentage.

Yeah, the whole reputation business is a tad bizzare. I've never smacktalked or done anything particularly cheap and I've got a 70% avoidance ratio too.

Makes me wonder if there are some weird play rules in Japan that I just don't know about.

You guys are taking this way too seriously . . . I'm sure lots of people, myself included, use "avoid" as a way to mark players we don't want to play b/c of lag.

Yeah, but think about it. Even the best internet connections take a performance hit sometimes. I mean, do you click avoid player for one bad connection, or a consistently bad connection? I just keep imagining in about a year, a bunch of you guys won't have anyone to play because you clicked avoid player too much. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

There's a performance hit, and then there's people who will continually join your session even though the game looks like a flipbook.

It's not like clicking avoid player actually means you'll never play them again (I wish). It's just one of the few (only?) ways for me to mark players so I know not to join xxLagFeiDownloadingPornxx 's session again.

I guess I just don't know how it works. Since I have been on LIVE I have never paid attention to rep until now. So if you mark someone "avoid player" and you come across their session, does it say you avoided them before? What happens if someone you marked tries to join your session?

Nothing happens. It's just supposed to lower the chance of you being randomly matched with them. If they elect to enter your session, there they are.

XBox reputation is useless. No vote needs to be substantiated. Don't put any stock into your, or anyone else's, reputation.

Besides, I have clicked 'avoid' for players who have cable-pulled on me. They still pop up pretty frequently when I select custom match.

The good news is this means people can't really avoid you this way. The bad news is that they'll just yank the damn cable out.
The worst news is that they're ranking up with you, just waiting to pull on you again when it counts even more. I got something for them to pull.

    But I digress...

I use avoid for either true assholes/droppers/laggers (laggers usually get "too good")

WOW. Just looked at my Rep. Apparently I have pissed a bunch of people off. Can't see how though. I never pull or do anything wrong. Maybe people just don't like Lion.

I don't like losing either but losing is part of life how are you going to get better if you don't have anything to reflect on. I go in good matches expecting to lose once in a while and if one can't stand if a person it too aggressive or too vulgar or hits people while they are down all the time then why do they even play seriously. Unless someone is good enough to win every match against everyone that is fine but to be such sore losers and want to people to play nice, fair matches all time isn't realistic, why would they expect this in all honesty?
