Hori Stick button setup

To Hori owners,
What button layout do you suggest, and does it very from character - character?

I'm sure there's already enough threads about this but I think most people have it like this....

A = Guard
B = Punch
X = Kick

I hear most people use their thumb and first two fingers, thumb on Guard. I can't do that, my thumb won't sit close enough to the rest of my fingers.

Yeah, I set up mine just like Beligerent_Feck said. I don't use my thumb, either; I find it more comfortable to use my first 3 fingers.

Anyway, don't forget to set up the 2nd Player button configuration as well; since that's what's used when you join someone online.
