Theres a link to the MS Paint Diagram. Top left is if you were looking at the controller from the Left Side.. And chopped in half.. so you could see the D-Pad.. Obviously the rest of the controller is a VERY rough. drawing... lol. Top right is sortof what it would like like from th e side,, when you press UP on the D-pad.. you've then got room to insert the tip of your knife/x-acto / razor..

Bottom left is the top view.. You wanna scrape/shave along that outter plastic "rim" that surrounds the d-pad.. Shave that down enough so that when you press in that direction.. the d-pad no longer hits the rim.. Then repeat while pressing down on the d-pad.. Along with Left and Right.. Shaving all 4 sides of the ring down..

When you're shaving you dont have to DIG the knife way in.. You should just be able to scrape little curly Q's of plastic off at a time.. Do it evenly and neatly and you dont even notice anything was change... a sharp knife helps..

Once you've shaved down the whole ring evenly.. you should be able to press directions on the d-pad without hearing/feeling/seeing it click the edge of the controller. I can try and post pics tonight too if people still want. But really it just depends on having a decent knife.. and scraping away properly.

Edit: The two goofey looking ovals are your finger pressing on the d-pad to make room for the knife :p.

wow, now i feel really bad that you put the effort into the diagram, because i honestly understood what you were saying, i just needed a pic of how far i needed to cut it down. kind of like a "when to stop" pic. but seriously, thanks for going the extra mile to help a newkid . . .

Hahah it wasn't much.. No worries, Made it while on hold anyway :). How far down is really just enough to make it so you dont feel the D-pad hit the edge anymore. Its really not even a visibly noticable amount.
