XBL Bad Games

I wonder if this is all paranoia. It would seem like such a pain in the ass to cheat this way. Then again, there are some big losers on XBL... I always wondered if Dention has a lag switch, but could a lag switch even exist that created a constant medium level of lag?

 

I've got no idea as to the second question. As to the original point, i agree that it seems a lot of trouble to go through, but in an effort to understand what a lag switch is (via youtube) it doesn't look all THAT difficult to make.

And there people out there in all first person shooters abusing them, i think we can all agree. So its not a stretch to think some of those people could be crossover VF fans, and if they are, it would be no extra effort on their part to use the exact same lag switch they have handy for FPS games.

And while the vid i saw used a light switch from a hardware store to create a lag switch, i'm pretty sure anyone who was pathetic enough to make and use a lag switch could probably easily do the same thing with some sort of button or pedal, so that it'd be not difficult at all to maintain both hands on the joystick/controller and operate a lag switch or button.

Again, i have no idea how prevalent lag switches are in any game, or how much it affects or helps or hinders the sides involved. I don't know if some of the "suspicious looking lag" situations i encounter could even be a lag-switch--since i have no idea what a lag switches affects look like on either players screen.

You have to keep in mind, we have people playing VF who pull at every loss (less effort but no less crazy). And we have players like Cooladdy who have multiple accounts that they use to boost their own ranking. Ranking up dummy accounts and then "funneling" that rank into their main. In this way they can maintain an artificial rank AND a green no pull face. Soooo....this kind of behavior takes would be quite a bigger pain in the ass then making and using a lag switch. And there a few players we know are doing this. So nothing is out of the realm of possible.

 

Here a crazy idea. How about you stop playing gray bars. You know the match is going to be garbage but you keep going.

Spoken like someone who lives in texas (i believe) and can be picky about those kind of things. Living in alaska, i have to take what i can get.

 

it was a 3 bar match like i always play,and it was at night(between 11:00pm-12:00am.) it was a promotion match for the guy also. his xbox achievments were really low for the three fighting games he played. also he didnt have any people from vf on his friends list. i came to a hypothesis that he cheated after putting everything together. i dont accuse unless im 90% certain.

 

Well Boo Hoo Dorothy . I'm sorry you live in a place where you can't get good connection. I guess your going to have to keep crying about fictional lag switches on the bad games thread. If you use a lag switch in VF its just going to disconnect you. Using a lag switch on VF is like having a sophisticated cable pull. Lag spikes happen a lot on 2 bars. Sorry.

Maybe you should be like one of us Texans and do your homework.

Dorthy you got snippy at my gray bar comment, I just barked back, and we've been barking back and forth ever since. Mad? I've been enjoying are little argument. You say you don't like drama but you have to have the last word.

Anyway back to Bad games and lag switches. A Lag switch in a fighting game basically cuts off the signal to your opponents console when they flip it on, preventing you from controlling your character. While this is going on the Opponent can hit you with a Ultra, but that only works in games like street fighter where your moves come out in a instant or 3 frames are less. In VF its not that useful considering the fastest moves are 12 frame.

 

Shiny, I know that you are a Texan so maybe there are different standards of reading comprehension down there... My comments were much more nuanced and ambivalent than what you portray here. You should work on your reading and writing skills because in general people do not like to see their words mischaracterized.

Even in a two sentence post, you cannot avoid writing something that is obviously incorrect. The word "quote" has a specific meaning and you fail to grasp it. There is a difference between quoting someone's words as opposed to paraphrasing them or summarizing them.
