I have really wondered about lag switchers. It seems so idiotic to do that in a fighting game. I have thought that Dention was maybe a lag switcher because his matches always have that persistent lag that makes his low punches and backdashes work when he doesn't seem to have sufficient advantage. And he is such an asshole with his dpmk in VF5 and his cable pulling and 66pkg and constant runaway tactics and low punching... so it seems like if anyone has the pathological asshole personality to use a lag switch in VF, it is him... but I am still agnostic on the issue.

    BGs to myself...

I couldn't resist the temptation to accept multiple challenges from "he who cannot be named" (cough Dention) because I wanted to own him, but I lost...and even more I broke the VFDC boycott against him and allowed him to gain EXP...

    I am so ashamed.

    LOL

Don't even bother with that guy. He's a well-known puller. He may pull on you when you are about to win. He pulled on me when I was about to demote him in ranked for a while ago. You know, he's just a pus who only cares about his rank.

Becktastic's profile claims to be a woman, in a female gaming clan... they could just have a flaky connection, as when I played that person, the match gave out like half way. There's a few people on there like that (possibly wireless or shared) who have the darker icon, but they generally don't pull at match point.

Craftier and Vanilla are legit, tough players with Akira and Jacky. I play them quite frequently as a Raider no worries. Would definitely see it as an improvement marker if I could beat guys like that, even just once.

There's a British player on there called Singostar, who comes up on my screen as the full, bright green, but in game there's terrible lag. He said in a message that he was using VF to test his net which was having problems. He's a Wolf player who taunts any round he wins...

    Is Dention really a puller?
I guess even highly skilled players can be pullers. What a shame.
He smacked me around 4 straight last night :(

So strange, to be really strong at the game and a constant puller.

Its strange enough to be a constant puller (stranger still if you are good at the game). I can see the very rare rage pull, don't condone it, but i can understand it. Or the rare drunken rage pull, can't condone that either, but I have been guilty a few times in my 4 or 5 years of playing online (not proud of that either).

But what fun is there in playing and pulling on the majority of your losses? Why don't these people just play the computer and win every time if thats what does it for them? I can't see how someone can get joy out of the rank next to their name and not give a care about the angry red disconnect face.

I'd rather be a hunter with a green face than a stormlord with an orange one.

Lol, its like a 400 pound chic with a belly ring.

    Dention's main is/was Kage.

Guys like him are only concerned with their rank...we saw it in halo 2...useless. i enjoy declining his challenges, though. There are a few others out there that I enjoy declining, too (you know who you are:)

Guardian pulled on me in ranked today when i was up by 2 rounds, and it counted as a loss on my record! I don't really care about my win/loss, but its still pretty bogus.

Afterwards, i couldn't find anyone in ranked for 15 mins or so and turned it off. No idea yet if it took down my rank bar :(

--guessing that even if it did, i won't be able to tell, since 1 match is such a small sliver anywho.

I'm not100% on this but, if it counts as a loss on your side then you were the one that D/C. The reason you still have the green face is that you were up 2 rounds. It happens from time to time.

BGs to Lol SteaK for being a [P] mashing Taka. I hate button mashers, mainly because they are usually too dumb to for the mind games that are characteristic of VF and mashers are just not fun to play.

Haha. I've played him. At least he doesn't pull :D
I gotta say, i found him to be a Taka who mashed [P] and was incredibly easy to beat. But then, i'm sure there are some people of suspect skill who give me fits that you'd beat quite handedly, since styles make fights.

A pro tip for playing Taka P mashers. When you play them, work hard on doing Evade Crouch Dash Guard Cancel to there stomach. As I understand from people on the shoutbox, Taka users are frustrated by the fact that stomach-side ECDG avoids 99% of everything he can do. If its true.....i cant say for sure.

Also, if you play him again, do your 2p into whatever 3p, 3k, 3p+k move you have. with pai, if i do 2p into 333p+k, (that is straight from 2p to 3p+k) it counterhit steak every time. And her's is one of the worst for interrupting moves--compared to wolf, lei fei, kage, and others.

But yeah, i agree. When playing marginally skilled players online you must often times practice playing bad to win comfortably, since intelligent well-paced play can lose to random bad decisions lol. After going from 10kyu to raider, i was much worse than i started, despite the 100+ games played.

Button mashers using P alot are the easiest to deal with in general since P will always hit high for everyone. I hate the randomness too and screws up my perfect type of play so it might help to let them did their own graves and attack into your counter hit moves. Mind games will never work on them because they don't think about the choices they make they just act on what they feel is right. That is how I handle them personally and it works as long as I can get the space I need to make them come to me. Usually a knockdown gives me that time so once they get up and attack randomly I can practice launching them on their wiffs or crouch dashing under the obvious P spam to get in close.

You could try to block and punish but with the questionable issue with lag etc nothing is guaranteed. Random mashing will win in situations they shouldn't like -13 or -15 situations when they shouldn't be able to 2P but it seems to work when they do it. You could do that but the random variables make it quite a challenge but if that is what you want to do and take a chance of lag getting in the way of your perfect punishing opportunities that is your choice.

I usually don't post much here, however it is truly laughable at the amount of high ranked people who will low punch online & wine when I spam 9[P]. I will not specifically put them on blast, but I'm sure you all know what im talking about. Eileen's low punch crusher is now my favorite move & I will continue to throw it out there whenever i smell 2p, throw, or cheesy low sweep at the end of a round. Peace

Easily one of her top moves, and it works on all skill levels. I hate when it hits me though !
