XBL Bad Games

I think a balance has to be struck. I've heard that places like shoruken thrive off hateful replys. I would compare street fighter to the Call of Duty community, something I am more familiar with and there's certainly a lot of hate and bigotry that goes on in there. I don't play that game any more but like I said a balance needs to be struck.

The BGs thread has it's place and a function that I considered to be warning others about miscreants/pullers and the like. I don't read the long tiraids of whatever that gets posted in here every now and then. Whether or not it's detrimental to the site is debatable as some people seem to enjoy reading it.

But at the end of the day our community is small and we should be trying to spread positive messages that VF is a good game and encouraging/helping new players get into it.

 

People just need to be able to sell the game when asked about it instead of ITZ SOOO DEEP AND THE MOST BALANCED EVAR1!potato.

 

I also agree that you cant get all turned off by a couple people being "lippy" in the BG's thread. ITS THE BG THREAD!, go read the GG thread and you may get a very different impression of the community.

@Ytpme, i laughed at 'teaching me to spell necessary'. I remember when i finally stepped up and learned to spell necessary and embarrassment. I always kinda grouped them together as tough to spell.

Also, i plan to get the game this or next week. I live with SMB--we are identical twin brothers for anyone who missed the memo. If i get the game, there is no way he isn't playing it lol. He was just a bit into his cups when he posted. There is a hilarious easter egg accidentally thrown into the post. /rant fail.

You remember the BG's thread right SMB? It's always been like this and it's hardly indicative of the whole forum. Also, if you think this one thread is bad then you should use that handy little search function up there and see some of the shit that went down pre-VF5.

Have you or Smb joined any other FG forum or website? VFDC is still one of the nicest places online. You think it's nasty here? Have you seen or heard about DOA Central? Now there's some epic drama there.
I'm not saying "hey look, we're not that bad, so we're good or better" it's just that, c'mon man, this is the internet. Do you expect everybody to come here with a great mood every day? And be polite and nice every day?
People are moody and if you're think that what I posted about a month ago when I was bored and trolling was bad, then your head would've exploded if you had joined VFDC 5 years or more ago. Shit used to be crazier, funnier, wilder but, believe it or not, there was a lot more hype and competitive spirit.

That's something that VFDC needs to find the proper balance of: hype and what is allowed and isn't.
What's just hype and what crosses the line?
That differs depending on who you ask but without drama and hype most FG communities would die... and probably wouldn't even exist.

FS is more VF than Vanilla was.

 

I'm make it even easier for you. You show up to ANY offline event in the northeast that I'm already going to like NYG, NEC, EVO (hopefully still happening) we will settle this. Our FT10 is not happening online.

 

I disagree. I think you say this because of the throw clash? I agree that throw clash is not a good idea, but other than that, I feel vanilla was a superior game in the series. I say this because it was mechanically harder, as well as better balanced (imo). Also, weight class actually seemed to matter in previous itterations, now in FS anyone can do big damage EZ. I (and probably others) just feel like FS is dumbed down.

 

Throw Clah being the main reason the other being FS is more balanced in design where it's not as strict as the 4 series but not as loose as the Vanilla 5. I miss the mechanical aspects more, MTE and something Like having launcher being done from a cancelled crouch dash (at least for Blaze and Jacky) instead of just 6 K+G/6 K, but this one emphasizes making the right choice that much more important, how it was achieved may not be the most agreed upon way. However with that said, I think this as simple as VF can and should go.

Overall there are somethings I don't like, I'm meh about and feel some parts are done better, but overall I have more fun with this one, as the overall changes and design work better in FS, than Vanilla.

 

Vanilla was like FT's aborted son, though there are things I miss i'm glad we've moved on from that crap.
