    Oh.

Anyway personally, when I use Sarah vs Akira, I be afraid to attack him with any High moves he keeps going under them.

I never denied that Akira isn't super strong, but it's just tiring to have people bash him or put him on this god tier level when they have never even attempted to play him against a REALLY skilled opponent like you while trying to keep DE, SDE, DBL Palm etc constantly buffered. Sure his mids are fucking awesome, but they make it seems like it's all 1 command shit like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. If they only knew the work involved with fuzzying, defending a barrage of attacks, TE'ing and still on top of all that finding the right moment to cut in with DE or SDE. Do they even realize you can't have DE - SDE - DBL Palm loaded when you are fuzzying or trying to defend lows? Oh right just hit the Akira god button and call out the move you want.

Any way, when you done playing SF4(I give it about a week...hopefully) come give me some of that Vanessa loving again. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif Looking to see how much you have grown with her. Maybe my Eileen might be up to par for a small session.

Not trying to get into anything here but he has like 3 moves that can do that, i'm guessing other characters have a good few more than 3.

Totally agree here. I haven't played Akira more than a few times in VF5 but when go up against UK Diddy and he nails me with DE/SDE within a very strict counter window (which becomes more strict online) I'm always amazed. if he only did that once or twice it would be one thing but consistently is pretty awesome and takes a lot of work.

Who knows how long it'll be lol. My OS Vans hasn't progressed at all, cause I got bored of her and just went back to Sarah. I did have a few new tricks I created in-match though. I'm sure your Eileen would work me though, it'd force me to step up a lil bit.

It doesn't really matter how many moves he has that does it, one of the most common moves you'll see from Akiras in match and one of the fastest in exe 14/15f. The SDE. Akira get like 60pts off that and it's fast and covers alot of linear ground, so it discourage highs, got to use highs when I don't think one is coming.

I've come to the conclusion that in the match up, Sarah can use a ton of 1K low kicks. Cause Akira might not even be "SDE ready" if he guards it.

another EDIT: and the 1K low kick also beats the shoulder. So that low kick is such a key move. Easy for me to hitcheck the CH for +0 lol

hey slightly off topic everyone.. but I was playing some guy and I dashed him out a few times to get the ring out victory. after the session finished, the guy wrote me back and called me cheap. What do you guys think?

Haha, don't worry about it Stomp...that's very viable tactic. I usually feel stupid after getting ringed-out in that manner, he probably felt the same. He didn't take kindly to feeling stupid...oh well.

SDE doesn't go under highs Slide, it pwns lows /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Shoulder Ram doesn't go under highs either, seen it go under 2p though.

agree. walking someone out of the ring is super fun. it's like having Gandhi come in as your helper and convince the opponent to give up. they should feel honoured.

Why can't I P Akira back after guarding his P when he goes into SDE?

Akira has advantage (much like most characters, if not all) after you guard his P. Most have +2. In that situation your P comes out at the same time as SDE but since SDE does more damage, your P loses.

However, Sarah has a lightweight P of 10 frames so it should still win out in that situation...could be lag then.

Hmmm...also most characters high P should win even at 11 frames. The only characters that should lose are Jeffry, Wolf, and Aoi since their P comes out at 12 frames. It may really be lag then.

Because you are slow. And because its propably online youre talking about.. Let it be said that I dont think I would have the reflexes to react to a blocked P with a P even under the best circumstances.

Akiras SDE and DE goes under Jeff's and Wolfs highpunch. Those are the only characters that Im aware of that this happens for though. On one of them it only worked in one stance and the other in both but I forgot which is which. You can test this in dojo by setting CPU to counter with P and hitting DE into block and another DE.

edit: jeff in open stance only.

Just lag homie! Akira can't /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif into SDE and get away from an instantaneously follow up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif from a character. On /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif hit ' Yes ' but not on block... blame that shit on the internet. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif You have great reaction so I know offline you will nail that shit with no problem.

I'm quite sure there are situations in which Akira's dashing elbows seem to avoid high P (not just the 12 frame punch characters). Don't think this is just a lag issue. Don't know what causes it though, but try it out with computer training mode a long time ago on PS3....need to find my notebook.

By the way, I am impressed with anyone that can consistently buffer SDE in 14 frames to beat out low punch at +2.
