I think nearly everyone assumed if Sega went that far for VF4:Evo, that Final Tuned was guaranteed to come to the Ps2....

I think few people assumed FT would come to ps2.... TBH it would have been a bad idea to release it. If PS2 had been online they could have made an update.

I think you are wrong to say that it's the example to prove what Sega decided to do in the future. They will release R on xbox, that's pretty much certain in my opinion.

Besides, Capcom is not developing SF themselves because they lack the talent to do it in-house, unlike AM2. AM2 does not need players to get involved with VF6, cause they know better than anybody else. In my opinion.

Sirlin input has yet to be proven to be either a good or bad decision. VF5 is here, now, online. If you prefer to wait and not play it, that is your decision. In the meantime, please try to contribute with some real fact to this discussion, because it seems to me that you have a negative view of Sega, and it influenced your view of VF5, which is still best fighting game out there. Always in my opinion, of course.

Well really from what I've seen VF4FT didn't have too much ascetic changes like VF4evo did, and there were no new characters being introduced. Just from a marketing stand point it wouldn't make too much sense to try and sell, what to many people will be, the same game twice.

VF5R has two new characters which is what evo had, there are huge revamps on the stages which VF4evo also had. There are enough changes that both the hardcore and the people mildly interested to get excited about. While with VF4FT only the hardcore would be happy.

I'm not really too worried about VF5R coming to xbox because it follows from what happened with VF4evo that VF5R will make it.

disclaimer: I never played VF4FT but I've watched videos of it on youtube and if there were any ascetic changes I didn't notice them hence they aren't worth mentioning.

I agree and I do think its coming. But tell ya what, if this game doesn't get a console release by april next year, I quit VF and fighting games for good. Its too much of a time and emotional investment to be gaffled just cuz I dont live in japan.

    Why quit fighting games?

Capcom's given full console support to the Street Fighter series outside of Japan. Sega is one of the few video gaming companies that I can think of that has managed run one of its best franchises directly into the ground through sheer stupidity. Sega sucks. This is the same company that said VF would never work online....meanwhile the developers of SF2:HD Remix and SF4 have both said 'online is the future of console fighting games'. Bravo Sega...

Because I dont like other fighting games and the time I do decide to dedicate towards vf, I wouldn't want to sacrifice for another game but rather other hobbies like 3d, design or exercise.

yeah I'm with Gerald on this one. Although I dabble in other fighters, it's VF that really holds my interest and keeps me going. If it doesn't come out I can easily see myself fade away from the scene and just casual play other random games on the side. It really does become troublesome to keep up with the VF franchise if you live outside of Japan. Even when new addition of SF games get released in Japan, at least a few months later they are sold state side to arcades. But Sega has made owning VF just impossible due to it's heavy network design. Well all we can do now is keep our fingers crossed. The moment of truth is roughly 2 weeks away.

reading posts like the ones above frustrates me because I am in the same position. I LOVE VF so much but its hard to keep going when no one around me plays it hardly at all. I was even thinking of (gasp!) moving to Tekken just so I could play against people (besides online).

COME THE F*** ON SEGA!!!! How come the company can be so HUGE in Japan and such a flop over here?!?! Stop releasing BAD sonic games and get with it!

Everyone knows SEGA is anti-world when it comes to VF. That's why they keep sending out crappy sonic games and keep the good shit to themselves. You just have to learn to deal with it.

    InstantOverhead,

Sega said VF would never work online, and yet they made VF online with the best online VS ever seen on the XBOX. How is that running a franchise to the ground? That is how you back up your shit, hats off to AM2.

Running a franchise to the ground means selling identical games every year or so, with little or no improvement, like Capcom did to SF2 in the past and Namco is doing right now to his games.

Before keeping on spouting shit, could you please point me towards the games that Capcom and Namco have that are better than VF5?
    I want to play them.

Just get over your pre-conceptions about Sega and enjoy the game for what it is. I am as critical of Sega as you are, but still VF comes out on top. If you are boycotting VF because of your distrust toward Sega.....you are making a big mistake.

    InstantOverhead,

I have been thinking about challenging you to put your money where your mouth is. I want to bet some money against you that R will come out on xbox 360.

Are you ready to back up your theorem based of false assumption with some money? I am.
