Will we see a North American release of VFEvo?

    The more people have been talking about the mem card issue, the more I kept thinking about it...

    Y'know, even if a fix isn't made for the US release (should there be one), this is not really a big deal. One huge positive point about larger gatherings and tournaments is that the playing will be much faster without having to wait for the game to save player files, etc between matches. No custom character Vs battles will not hinder good players getting together to bash heads.

    cheers,

    Well....there's the controller configuration issue. Not being able to save your button settings really slows things down.

    It isn't that big of a deal when you look at the bigger picture. I'd be disappointed, but nevertheless, happy that I've got an english version of the game.

    But if you're going to have this "custom character" and "stat-tracking" system, why limit it? In the end, the time we would've been waiting for each character to save stats now goes to loading your characters into one memory-card (which isn't a problem until you realize you've got 4 Lau players in your crew and the system only accomodates 2), and then the painfully slow process of changing button configurations in the system file for each person that uses it differently (like Dre said).

    Not every crew has only 2 of each character, and not everybody uses the same button configs (like me. I have to change them so I can play on stick...otherwise they aren't like the arcade. Then you've got pad players...). Some people may not have to deal with this, but I know I'll get the double-whammy on this one, as will many others.

    It isn't that big of a deal, but either way, time is wasted. Either it's wasted setting up one mem-card for gatherings (which isn't too much time at all) and changing button configs (which is the biggest gripe of mine), or it's wasted while saving each player's file. I'd rather waste it while saving my files. That way I have my configs set. It's as simple as "bring your memory card" that way.

    Button configurations? I can see this perhaps being a problem for people and controllers - shame that not everyone uses sticks...ugh.

    cheers,

    I agree. It would save so much trouble, but so many people don't give a flip about arcade gameplay; they're casual gamers. Normally, I wouldn't care. If someone doesn't want to get sucked in as deep as me that's fine. It's just now...yeah...the configuration issue. It happens in every fighting game I play, and now it'll happen in evo if they don't fix it /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Actually, there is a big problem. Many people's sticks are not configured like the official VF sticks.

    For example, the T4 stick in default setting will have the g,p,k set up rotated. So unless everyone have the official VF stick, buttton config is a huge problem. This problem is actually less applicable for controllers, since they are all set up the same.

    It's a regular problem for GE and myself. We both use sticks with different button configs :p

    what? you mean like "G, P, K" to something like "K, G, P"?? or some junk like that? SAY WHAAAAT??? /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

    No I mean like on PS controller:

    my stick:
    X = G
    square = P
    triangle = K

    GE's stick:
    L2 = G
    L1 = P
    square = K

    So with saved controller configs on cards we would have to continually switch up the controller settings if we were playing in a gathering situation where everyone want's to use their own stick.

    Not to be mean but is this petition jazz just going to be a pipe dream? or is anyone going to step forward and do it? If you need a front man I can do it, but I will need help from some of the old bones in here /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

    If anyone knows where/how I can startup an online petition tell me, and we'll get this show on the road.

    Nobody's signed yet? Damn...might as well because it won't hurt to make a petition. Guess I'll be the first to sign.

    I just made it today, like 10 minutes ago. Should I sign my own petition or am I the petitioner so I shouldn't. Who knows. I'm going to put it in my game faqs sig to help spread the word. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

    No problem, spread the word and tell two friends. When we hit the 200,000 or 500,000 I'm telling Sega. That would be the greatest hits zone.

    200 or 500 is probably sufficient /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif. But if we can get half a million, why not?

    Remind people to mention the save system as well...it seems people are forgetting about that in their comments.

    I just realize my grammar at the end got messed up when I cut and paste it. Damnit...oh well now everybody thinks I'm retarded. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

    Update:I'm working with those petition hippies to see if they can help me fix it... /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
