It's true that there aren't any African American characters in VF. I do believe Sega
feels they covered the "black" part with Jeffry and Vanessa. (gotta love the
deblacking of Vanessa though) Sure you can make the argument that Jeff is
aborigine but aborigines have strong african roots. Jeff holds all
the stereotypes that the Japanese hold for black characters and Vanessa goes the
way of "storm" (who marvel originally didn't want to be considered black at all: fact)

Personally I wouldn't want a black boxer. I also wouldn't want a big black grappler.
Why? Too stereotypical.

Here's my character:

Levy Barboza

Age: 19
Height: 5'8
Weight: 165 lbs
Nationality: African American
Style: Mixed Martial Arts/Trick Style
Eyes: Brown
hair: Black/Brown (short dreads)

Levy was born in the USA but grew up as a military brat traveling all over the
world with his mother and father. Levy was always active in extreme sports,
from skateboarding, to bike riding to parkour. He never really had any real friends since he moved so much. You could say his best friend was his father who trained him in martial arts whenever he could find the time.

Levys father was loving to Duffy but always mysterious. Whenever Levyy asked
his father what he did exactly for the military pops would always just smirk and
say "Son, I do what I have to. Now look after your mother while I'm gone." Without
fail this would be met with an awkward smile from his mother who never
volunteered any information. If he insisted she would always say, "Just know
your father would never lie to you."

It was Saturday 6 PM, June 6th when Levy came home to a startling scene.
His home was was torn apart with at least 8 dead bodies throughout the
house. "Mom!" He yelled. His father replied, "She's gone." In a low, distant
voice. Levy ran over to where he heard his father to find him bleeding
to death clasping to a key and what appeared to be a security badge that
said "J6." His father smiled, patted him on the head like he has done
a thousand times before and said. "...after your mother..." and passed away.

Levy enters the J6 Tournament to find the truth.

Levys style would be a strange mix of fast trick style fighting and
conventional attacks. Fast punches with flashy kicks to emphasize his
athletic ability.

Appearance:
1st Player Costume: Levys first player outfit would look like a basic Bboy
ensemble; head sporting short dreads with a bandana draped about his neck.

2nd Player Costume: Tshirt ninja mask, shirtless with basic martial arts pants.

Quotes:
Entry:
1: *Smiles "Ready or not!"
2. Try to keep up.
3. You want a piece of me?
4. You want it, you go it!

Win:
1. (Rubs eye) *Obnoxious Yawn
2. Runs up to camera, crosses hands like an umpire "Yoooooou're OUT!"
3. Does crazy flippy thing and goes off screen.
4. Does crazy flippy thing but wipes out. "Whoah!"

How would he play: Levy would be heavily offense oriented with no sabakis,
inashis, or counters whatsoever. Stance heavy, his fight style changes would only
be noticeable by what he says. He'd have a dirty fighting punch oriented stance and a taekwondo like kick oriented stance. Levys throws would also be very weak and primarily just give him advantage for further mixups. Levys walking speed and backwalking speed would be on par with the fastest in the game with a ton of off the wall flips and tumbling that can be done from running.

Okay I'm done my character fanfic. (Gawd)

Honestly, why is everyone writing down "African-American" as nationality? The category should be in "ethnicity," and there is a difference between the two words. Nationality is someone being a citizen of a certain country while ethnicity is someone of a same race but different culture. Anyways, I was able to come up with the name of my boxer.

Eh you get the drift. Of african and american decent, blah blah blah.
I could write black, jigaboo or whatever but eh. I put to much thought into
this already.

Aborigines came to Australia from the Indian subcontinent some 50k years ago. - according to an Elder who gave a speech at my school once.

i dont think there is a definite scientific conclusion though. not that it really matters anyway

aborigines today, full blood or otherwise, have a far more similar appearance to people from the Indian subcontinent than people from Sub-Saharan Africa - my 2c

lol there is no definite conclusion, but the theory that Aborigines are from the Indian subcontinent is the most favored among scientists

and anyway

Elder > random internet persona /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

So no you got scientists too huh, well the oldest human skeleton is
black so you all are nothing but a bunch of niggers. WHAT NOW
BROTHA WANT A BEAN PIE! Wait where were we again?

I still say that Jeffry is a typical black japanese caricature fuck
aboringes. He's our stereotype they are using the aborigine as a
cover up. Aborigines blow. (Dijiridu joke.)

meh im fine with that. ethnic differences are only because of genetic adaptation to climate and other environmental factors anyway. race is a farce

True enough. I just tend to rep the less popular class so to speak.
it's really for me more about representation than anything else.
God knows there's going to be 10x as many ninjas, monks and random
fap worth chicks represented.

In Dej Jam Vendetta I played the white boy /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

she could use nigerian Dambe, its a cool shield and spear karate. the off hand is used for defense and grabs and the stronghand is the key.

the boxers opponents' should all get a Punch Drunk counter-like shuns drink points--and when his opponents get more and more PD some of his standard moves start getting stagger/crumple/collapse.

Yeah, there should be a boxer, and he should wear one boxing glove, like that dude from the first UFC when he got man handled by Gracie!

Have you been keeping up on what we are discussing here? We are talking about boxing, not some style that looks like tae kwon do.
