    In reality it would have been difficult to have an Italian guy with an Italian name that made sense. In Japan Umenokoji seems to mean somebody born in a good family, Hayabusa and Kagemaru are ninja name,But in Italian what? Marco Rossi? Giuseppe?

    That would be quite boring I feel. At least BURNS is hot right?

    How sick would it be if the punch button threw jabs and lighter punches and the kick button threw hooks, uppercuts and other "power" punches. So punch>kick combos would be like jab>hook etc... They could make it really cool if it worked that way. Of course he would be dirty fighter too so he would also throw knees, elbows and head-butts.

    Name: Hurricane Jones
    Nationality: African American
    Height: 6'3"
    Weight: 225 lbs

    Hurricane Jones is an ex-world champion boxer who one day finds himself banned from professional boxing for life. His notorious dirty fighting and extremely violent spirit eventually lead Hurricane to actually killing his last opponent in the ring (a la Rocky 4.) However, no matter what he does, Hurricane can't deny his incredible desire to fight, hurt others (he would be a bad guy a la Balrog) and taste the thrill of victory in combat again. Because he is banned from boxing forever, but has to quench his thirst for blood, he decides to join the J6 fighting tournament to feed his brutal appetites.

    His moves would be centered around boxing, but a style that would obviously be considered very dirty if it were done in a pro boxing ring but will work nicely for the no holds barred combat of the World Fighting Tournament...

    He would use:

    -Head-butts (dirty boxer's specialty)
    -Elbows
    -Knees
    -Low blows (of course)
    -Holding and rabbit punches (a throw maybe)
    -Maybe some low, short range kicks but no real high or long-range kicks at all, maybe no kicks at all and just knees (maybe stepping on his opponents feet so they can't move etc...)

    The /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif button would provide his faster, jab-like techniques and lighter, quick attacks (what if he was huge but had a 10f standing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif because he's so good at punching?)

    The /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif button would generally control his more powerful attacks whether they are power-punches like hooks and uppercuts. Or the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif button could control his knees as he could have a relatively wide variety of knees because he can't do kick class attacks at all. This would also focus him much more around close range fighting, so he would have almost exclusively short-range attacks but many of them would have evasive properties.

    His power punches could always be /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif attacks or something along those lines and free up /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to just do his very wide variety of knees. (Hurricane Jones will be a knee attack master because he can't really kick at all. He'll have standing knees, jumping knees, dashing knees and such so he isn't too, too short ranged and I really want the knees have extremely varied uses.

    Then add in his head-butts and elbows, some cool throws where he just brutally pounds the opponents face with different, boxing punching combos.

    The key will be that he can't slip and dodge like Brad but the slips and dodges will be built into the moves. So your yomi will be using the right attack to avoid the attack you think they will throw. I'm thinking about moves with properties like Lion's 4PP that avoids high attacks from the first frame, or a punch where he lunges in lifting his front leg to avoid low attacks (Vanessa 1P?) or the moves could be even more specific with the attacks they avoid...

    Basically he would have a faster, elusive style that is powerful in close and tougher to attack with from longer ranges. I'm not saying his range game has to be overly nerfed, but weakened a little. Maybe he has some long range crosses and stuff but they are high attacks that can be ducked or are very linear etc, basically more easy to evade so he can't play the range game too, too well...

    <u>Summary:</u> He's a brutal American boxer with incredible talent but a overwhelming penchant for dirty fighting.

    Pretty awesome on how the kick button can be use for additional and harder punches. However, I do not know about the additional strikes the boxer will attack. Compared to Balrog of the Street Fighter series and Vanessa of the King of Fighters series, I kind of prefer Vanessa for being a traditional user of boxing.[/size]

    Smashy is a boxer with Microcephaly, and stands as tall as Shun but is as heavy as Jacky. His boxing style is unique in that he mostly uses his hands/palms (and head). He is very straight forward with only three-four stances/weird thingies, but with tons of strange (game breaking?) features.

    He is a character who can be quite predictable due to a lack of options (though it is all he needs), generally has short range (except for /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif), is quite linear, less than average throwing game, and is kinda gimped in that his fastest move is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Otherwise he has several quick attacks that do decent damage, simple combos, is generally very safe, and is evasive (can change ring positioning very quickly).


    Movelist:

    ARM- Smashy's ARM is different from all other characters; depending on what direction you're holding (i.e. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db_.gif) he'll align his body to it and run flailing his arms screaming. This is a wonderful way to maintain space (though his attacks generally lack range) and to cause WTF moments in matches.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif- This is a 13f palm strike, with the exact properties to Blaze's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (including how it beats highs), +2 +6 +8

    Oh dear God, no. Is it really necessary to have another "big black bruiser" who happens to be an evil, sociopathic boxer?

    I agree with making the boxer African-American (we've got 2 in VF so far), but drop the cliche stuff. How's this:


    Hurricane Jones is well-known in the heavyweight boxing division for his incredibly quick moves and nimble footwork. In most matches, his opponents fail to connect 90% of their blows, allowing Jones to manuever around them for a knockout punch. Last year, shortly after winning the title, Jones was approached by the J6 organization. Promised a substantial sum for throwing a fight, Jones did as they asked, only to be caught and banned from the sport. J6 did not keep their promise and left Jones with nothing to show for his mistake. When Jones heard word of the World Fighting Tournament, he entered seeking revenge on J6.

    You should do more stories cause I actually liked that one. Kind of makes me wonder what Jean and Taka's stories will be like even though VF isn't too story dependent.

    Dude, I like your Hurricane Jones back story a lot! I like the idea of J6 trying to manipulate him and then just leaving him out to dry... Definitely would work well as a plot for him and his maneuverable style.

    Just wanted to nitpick here but there are no African-Americans in the VF series.

    Jeffry is an Australian aborigine. Vanessa hails from Brazil.

    One can even question if they are from African descent but my main point here is that an "African-American" character would be unique in VF.

    How about a Boxer in a VF game?

    Boxing is proberly my favorite sport of all time. I think VF has pretty much all the other types of styles covered in the game except Boxing. I would like to see a flashy type fighter in the game similar in style to Roy Jones Jr. and Mayweather Jr. They should have basic leg skills since in all naturally these guys are true athletes and are very flexible with great stamina.

    You can't have "Hurricane" as name. It must be no more than 7 characters at least (in VF4 evo, and maybe VF5). All the defautlt "Quest" names go like (for Player 1) "XXXXXXX-1P". As you can see, "Hurricane" is too big, so you've might have blown it for your "AM2 audition".
