So basically, there is a desire for it. I don't have a VSHG yet either, so if it were all provided fresh to me in one package, that would be useful. Can the guy actually do it? Have you talked to him about it yet?

Assuming this is doable, what should the button layout be for the 360?

The same as it would be for the VF360 stick.

The reason I ask is this:

    1. the vf360 stick has a weird layout
    B,X,Y
    A,LT,RT

is this going to cause a problem for other games, or do people just not care?

    2. Because the triggers are analog, it may or may not be easier to use the left and right bumpers instead. Is this going to cause a problem?

i usually wire my 360 sticks in default streetfighter setup

    x, y, lt
    a, b, rt

if sega follows the trend of default control mapping on ps3, controls for vf5 could look like the following which helps out pad players.

    x = g, y = p, b = k basically how it would look if sega made a vshg for 360.

overall it shouldn't matter how things are layed out since you can remap in game and save your preferences.

as far as wiring triggers, all you need is a certain resistor and they work fine as play buttons. also there is supposedly a new gamestop controller that uses the common ground setup where you don't even need to put a resistor on the triggers so that should make things that much easier.

dunno if you guys have been keeping up but there has been discussion on srk about connecting vshg and 360 controller to a usb hub to make one single line that is interchangeable between the two consoles.

so far it seems to work with each controller going through the usb hub into their respective consoles. the next test would be to wire up the both pcbs to the vshg buttons and stick and then see if it still works.

anyways, this is good news for those thinking of modding their vshg's to play on both consoles since the usb hub will make it so only one wire comes out of the stick but is able to be used on both consoles.

i'd try it myself but i don't own a vshg pcb to mess around with.

Thanks, I'm definitely getting this, so I'll work with them from now on.

LA - I'm down with any plans to get VSHG's converted by MAS (Tao). I've worked with him in the past and he is the Michelangelo of fighting sticks. He's made many a stick for me. (Neo-Geo, Dreamcast, PS2 and Saturn)

If you can get him in on this - I'd definitely be interested.

I'm kinda stuck, I live in the UK, and I don't know anyone who can mod sticks here.

Should I buy a VF5 Hori Ex2 stick, or wait..buy a VSHG stick and get a USB converter, or get someone who can do the USB mod on the VSHG stick for it to work on Xbox 360 with zero lag?

Same here. How easy would it be to mod a VSHG for 360 use only?

EX2 sticks are only a tad cheaper than VSHG (buying them from amazon.co.uk and neoamusements respectively) and I have a spare wired 360 controller. I don't care about the phone plug, I'll buy a wireless headset if I ever want to voice chat while playing fighting games (doubt it).

I know how to solder and the padhacking doesn't scare me, but I don't know how does the 360 pcb fit into the case and how easy would it be to replace the cable.
