The phone ringing kills me. Even when I don't answer it. Also when I get a message when I'm in the middle of a match. That is on my wishlist of legitime changing they should make to online play, it wouldn't be too much to ask that it didn't say (xxxx sent you a message) until after the fight. But my cell phone ringing is the biggest one, tho i'll never message someone to tell them, lol, that would be lame.

It's in one of the option menus in the blades. User settings or something like that.

When i lose its because i'm sleepy, lag (yes the lag is a bitch) and sometimes people are just plain better. When people lose to me, they say; "I'm not used to playing against el blaze!" or "Thats not supposed to have priority over that, thats bullshit!"

Here's something that really amuses me-- I'm sure some of you guys have seen it before.
Let's say that you're playing a mirror match- and you happen to land a particulaur move often against someone. (Laus /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for example) Then the other player does that move over and over again- as if to show you that if they "chose" to do that move over and over again they would have an easy win. Everytime someone does that, I simply block the move or whatever and continue slapping them around. It's Hilarious!!
I've seen people do it with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif too. I'll interrupt their strings a few times with it, and then the other player starts spamming it(as if those /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif I was landing were the only reasons I was winning)- at which point I easily get around it. Barrels of Laughter!!

I lose when I'm either too aggressive and leave myself open. Or when somebody is just flat out better then me.

Sometimes when I lose. I always have a interuption. Mother walks in front of the TV or someone else talking to me with something urgent. They want favors. And sometimes lag.

Only one person out of the two will feel the lag. Even if you don't feel none. The other person still can feel it. The networking is strange in this game.

Possibly it works like this. Two people connected to the host. Both peeps are independent. They don't need to rely on the other connection to slow them down. Second, it is a UDP connection not TCP. Depending on there connection rate towards Xbox live is whether or not they feel lag. So if the person feels lag, its usually the person that is lagging fault. Or xbox live.

I lose when I get nervous and just start dropping combos and not timing things correctly. Adrenalin makes the game really fun but it's harder to control your character when you're pumped too.

I've never heard anyone give any sort of excuse for losing to me. It'd be pointless, its pretty clear I just get lucky a lot.

As for me losing tho, I'd put it to 3 main reasons:

    1) first and foremost, they're just better than me. This is usually due to them having more talent or experience than me. Sometimes though, its because I was born an uncoordinated retard.

    2) they have some move or series of moves that I don't know how to beat, they figure out my weakness, then exploit. Very smart on their part. I simultaneously hate and appreciate these guys tho. Without them, every match would be fun, but I doubt I'd learn to counter that stuff as quickly. To be honest tho, gimick players typically don't get past 4th or 5th dan from what I've noticed. Unfortunately, I've noticed these guys tend to disconnect when I figure out how how to beat it.

    3) When a player stomps me first round AND they use a ton of complicated techniques (dash canceling, evading double throw escape guard, dancing, etc) I get flustered and brain fart. Typically it'll take me a few matches to be able to convince myself I stand a chance then I'll start playing better, but even then, I still lose because of the number 1 reason.

I rarely lose BECAUSE of lag. Even if its a ranking match and I do lose, Its not really that big of a deal. Something a lot of people forget is that rank changes all the time. If you're x rank skill level, then chances are high that in 50 matches, you'll be x rank. Whether you're over-rated or under-rated, you'll just end up right back where you ought to be if you play enough games. From what I've seen the system works pretty well. I usually lose to those higher, and usually beat those lower.

Just my two cents. Probably too preachy with it, but... hey, look on the bright side, if you don't agree, you're well within your rights to flame me. lol

I have this problem too. Then, when I'm like, "OMFG, I'm gonna beat this dude!!!" I get overly excited and still lose. I've noticed that even when you have a huge advantage in health, if the momentum switches it can still be hard as hell to get those last few hits and put them away. I've had good players stage unbelievable comebacks that just took the wind right out of my sails in an instant.

When it comes down to something like this, you've got to realize that it doesn't even matter if you win or lose. you win 10 in a row? so what. you lose 10 in a row? who really cares.

IMO you should just be concerned about playing well, and to the best of your ability.

I think some players play to win or play 'not to lose', way too much. And alot of times, that's the reason why they actually lost. For the most part, i don't even bother to play opponents like that unless I'm forced or have to, and if I do it's just a couple of games and then I'm out.

Although we come from two absolutely different schools of
thought: Yours being more studious and mine more stupidous, I
    for the most part agree.

    To those feeling frustrated:
I play to understand, I've lost so many times and keep playing.
Primarily I play for understanding. I may bitch mind you but it's
because I don't know how to explain why I lose or better yet how
to fix it. Losing shouldn't really be your concern.

You're understanding should be. Once you understand why you're
losing then you can work on the more physical side of it if it's
execution issue. (This I drastically fail at because I'm lazy 1.
2 because I'm too cheap to buy a joystick.)

    Whenever I lose it's because

    1. They're simply better
    2. I'm not used to continuous offence (Lei-Fei, Lau, etc)
    3. My stepdad shuts off the console on me for no reason (he hates me playing video games, but of course nobody cares)
    4. People bothering me, I hate when people always tell me to do something or want to show me something when I'm playing. Just wait, it's not offline where I can pause.

I lose because of lag.360 controller not responding so well to the lag. or somone cheez me out of the ring with brads low punch sequences or with akira whole strategy is to elbow u until you are close enough to be thrown and juggle u out the ring.don't get me wrong some people just come prepared and are really good. but its good they do that in player matches so i can learn from them. then punish them.
