dash away, then dash forward and throw. It's the basic strategy to take out every character in VF2. Don't bother with attacks, she'll just reverse them or block on reflex.

I saw VF1 at the arcade but I was too into MK to really get into it. My brother loved it, though, and he was always on the machine playing Jacky, Sarah, and Pai. It wasn't until it hit Saturn that I spent $350+ dollars on the system and game just cause at the time I was bored of the other fighting games. Since then I've been a huge fan and it has been my favorite fighting series ever since (but I do still play other fighing games). In fact, I got the last two sega systems mainly for VF.

I first saw VF1 at this arcade next to Lido cineplex. Honestly, I wasn't really impressed then. With low polygon count and no texture mapping at that time, akira looks like he is built with lego blocks. But, because VF was the very first 3D virtual fighting game at that time, it always attracted alot of onlookers (myself included) in the arcades.

I started my serious VF play with VF2, and practiced/played the most with VF3 (Kage, Wolf, Jacky), about 5-7 hours of gameplay weekly then. But now it's like maybe only 30-60 mins weekly. Really pathetic /versus/images/icons/frown.gif

    Played a bit...

    Then majored in KOF

    Still playing VF1 n VF2

Then went hardcore in vf3 and never looked back since.

A friend called me, most of you can probably figure which friend that was. Anyways, he called me and talked to me about this guy that came down to play him at VF3. He explained to me the basic principles of Throw escapes and dodging and attacking( the system). I then pictured getting soo good at this game that I might become untouchable by using the right attacks and breaking all the obvious throws. I then became a member of this site and left tekken behind for good. This was about the time that VF4 just came out in the arcade, and my VF endeavor began. Too HOT! peace out fellas.

I saw VF1 in the arcade, and I played it. I wasn't too serious about it at the time, because I was still into games like Street Fighter and MK. I think I played it because it was different. I think I freaked out when I saw Pai reversing an attack for the first time, or Akira's dashing elbow, or Kage's ten foot toss.

When VF2 came out, I was still playing the more popular fighters. I had noticed that more people were playing it this time around, and the graphics were beyond anything out at the time. I played, got a couple of win streaks with Sarah, and after I saw Akira in the demos fighting against other CPU opponents, decided to make Akira my main character. I've been hooked ever since.

My devotion to VF was really tested when VF3 came out. Not because I was disappointed with it, but because no one played it after the first month. A year and a half went by, and I bought it for the Dreamcast, but couldn't get much out of it, due to the lack of competition. After joining this board and finding out that a VF community actually existed, looking at a few clips, reading documents, and travelling to New York and meeting people who were much better at this game than I was, I haven't looked back since.

Ghostdog is the King of VF in florida, No one is as hardcore about this game as he is. Everyone better recognize and give huge props. You the man GD.

I have played VF ever since I got my japanese Saturn, but I didnt play VF cause I was good, or I undrestood fighting games and new it was superior. I played cause it was a sega game. Then VF4 came out and I went to VF dc cause I was tired of playing VF alone. I got a PM by some shit head named BLonde_One and the rest as they say is HISTORY.

    PS Meep lol jk ghostdog

I first heard of VF when VF2 was out for Saturn. I only played it three or four times(my gfs brother whipped my ass and I had no clue what I was doing). I tried out VF3tb in the arcade, only played it a few times since it was .75 and no one else was even near it. I saw VF4 he and bought it cuz I was into Vanessa being vale tudo. The game was pretty boring playing against the computer so I decided to hook up with some people on VFDC...

I have no idea if that arcade is still around.

Though I have been to Shaw House a couple of times recently, it has been years since I last went up to the 4th(or is it 5th?) floor where the cineplex is.

Sadly though, there is not a single VF machine along the whole stretch of Orchard road these days. At least not that I know of. Every acrade is crowded with KOF'ers, geezzz..
