I think Japanese games will definitely be region locked to Japanese units.

Exactly. Spread the word everywhere for Christ's sake. How come people think that all the PS3 games will be region free (because Sony said that the PS3 system is going to support region-free games)??

    [/ QUOTE ]

Actually, it doesn't really matter (unless you live in Europe). Let me explain:

All PS3 games will be on Blu-ray disk (Sony is sorta forcing them). Even if Sega decides against having region free for VF5, U.S. citizens can still import and play VF5 (japan) on their U.S. PS3's because...

    *drum roll please*

...Blu-ray now has fewer regions than DVD (BD has 3 where DVD has 6) and guess what, Japan and the U.S. share the same region!!

    Hello imported Japanese anime!!

    ROFL, man you ARE stupid.

First of all DVD has 9 region codes and not 6, and to make matters more complicated Europe and Japan are both Region2 yet a lot of the discs are not interchangeable
To continue yes Blu Ray is 3 regions, thing is THAT IS FOR MOVIES.

Movie region coding has absolutely fuck all to do with region lock outs for videogames.

    I count six for DVD...

As for Blu-ray movie region coding not having anything to do with games region coding...

Well, the issue was not only brought up in earlier posts by Srider and grynn, but I also apologized for my ignorance on the subject.

    So...go to hell.
