No simple repeatable tactic gets to me as there are always counters. However missing stuff and losing because of lag pisses me seriously off. Pulling plugs when losing is just lame. Ive demoted myself once but I refuse to pull plugs to avoid losing.

Ive only done it like once before the match started when I was challenged by someone who I knew had horrible lag. Losing rank to lag is not cool. There should be some form of control over who can challenge you.. Or way to avoid players because of lag.

I want in on this Eileen battle.

Let's PM and make this happen!

As for the topic, I really hate tick-throws. I lose to them is Street Fighter, I lose to them in Guilty Gear, and I lose to them in VF. Very beatable, but still annoying for me nonetheless.

If an opponent lags and doesn't get on his/her mic to apologize about it, I make sure to give that player a bad review with a complaint of unsupportive conduct (because playing with a laggy connection is exactly that). I also make sure that I hit the avoid player option.

It urks me more that the player would have the nerve to try to find me for another match after a huge lag experience.

    BTW...

I need sweep and scamp to send a request. That way we can do this Eileen thing. I think Tricky sent me a buddy request yesterday.

Oh and another BTW, Sweep, that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif worked great. I didn't realize how much distance it covered. I'll be using it a lot more.

Erm, its not like one being challenged has any power over having lag because they cant even see opponents latency. Only challenger can.

Not that I like those players who intend to win because of lag, Ive met at least one propably intentionally doing that (played Lei whoop)

Also I dont use voice, at all. I just dont. (Ive tested and my headset doesnt even work even if I wanted to) They dont necessarily even speak english so its kind of weird to even expect voicechat.

There is also no option in xbl to avoid a player because of lag. Only because of unsporting behaviour etc. I think there should be an option for that.

That's exactly what I was referring to. Whether hosting or searching, I'm blocking and leaving bad player reviews on anyone who knowingly lags and chooses to continue match making--especially in ranked matches. Hell, I'd appreciate it a lot more if they just did a full disconnect during the first 5 seconds of substantial lag. When the person sits there and continues to fight, it just gives me the impression that this person doesn't value optimal play--in other words, the person isn't worth my time.

Guide button > recent players > person's tag > review > avoid > unsupportive conduct.

I've gotten very familiar with this process. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

That seems unnecessarily harsh to me. Lag does suck, but usually it seems to be caused by distance, which is to say if someone is in a laggy match with you... it could still only be an issue when they fight you. Personally, I try and back out whenever I see a grey icon on a match, but I also tend to hit A extremely quickly when someone comes up, to try and avoid the "unable to connect" message. I've let a few gray icons through by accident that way.

I'm still not sure why you expect an apology if you see lag... it sucks, but it's not necessarily your opponent's fault. If it's really that big a problem for you, why don't you just disconnect yourself? Personally, I usually just play the damn matches because quitting out doesn't seem to take significantly less time to get me back to the vs. menu.

To immediatly leave a bad review after a laggy game seems a bit harsh. How do you know they do it on purpose? I mean sometimes (very few times though) I even get a laggy game with someone with a brightgreen latency icon. You will just have to deal with the fact that every once in a while you'll get a laggy game.

Well Im not sure does the game system try to avoid those players that you are "avoiding" in that case it would make sense.

I hate people who do U+P after every attack.

    I can't techroll/ukemi 100% of the time online.

Avoiding a player and leaving a complaint/bad review are seperate things on XBL.

avoiding the player seems like a smart thing to do.

That system sucks. I avoided people, and they could still join my game manually anyway.

I hate Brad players who use moves that give them adv. on block and then attack attack attack. I have a win % of about 83 (might be a point or two higher if I didn't play so many matches inebriated), but I lose to sucky Brads who know nothing about the game except when to use moves that give them advantage.

And I hate the constant back away players. I think I used to play this way more than I do now b/c the cpu trains you to fight that way b/c of their perfect fuzzy... now I just get used to suckas who roll away on knock down and I dash towards them. They hate that.

And yes, I imagine that hell could consist of playing laggy matches against people who throw low punch after low punch after low punch...

I used to despise the low punch until I realized the only reason I hated it was because I was dumb enough to fall for it time and again.

Since I picked up Wolf I've been getting better and better at reading when someone will do a low punch and using his counter to teach them a lesson.

A few of the Goh players I have came across online have utilized the low punch very effectively but they always use it at certain points allowing me to time my counter perfectly.

The same goes for a few Akira players.

Indeed it is, unfortunately I mis-time it more often than not.

I like getting behind them off of my low punch counter.

I think the shining wizard does more damage than the back turn does potential damage and I'm positive it's unbreakable.

The back turn counter is a god send when your back faces an edge or wall.

I have totally gotten used to dealing with low punches by either evading, using Lau's ufp, blocking then instantly elbowing, or usin Lau's ffp+k. What messes everyting up is lag, b/c anti low punch techniques are dependent on precise timing. When I get my faster internet connection, it will be better. Most of the time it is ok anyway.
