Yeah but most high damage throws don't knock them into walls for extra damage - and even if they do it's only for a down attack. The Swing does additional damage and lets you do a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif, Plus unlike any other throw in the game - he is nearly always near a wall due to the throw distance - how far does the splash mountain throw get to any wall? . I know it's not game breaking or anything but I think his F5 and KS damage is far enough and I don't think it's fair that it is also the best ring out tool.

I don't think Shun is enough of a throw character for that. Mind you, neither is Pai...

I know it may sound stupid at first.... but If the throw was 60dmg (50 ukemi) and 75 (65 ukemi) on max input, it wouldn't hurt.
It is after all a great ring out tool, and just like Lemmy said, the F5 and KS throws are damaging enough.
Another thing would be to differentiate the distance an opponent is thrown, depending on the type of giant swing (normal or max input).
Just an idea... I mean... I don't like this throw as much as the two mentioned above anyway /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
It would probably be strange to get rid of this throw completely, however I'd like to see some other throw under /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif command. The one right now sucks balls. And I'm probably not the only one that wants /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to come back, and it can be even escapable now /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Tone down the Giant Swing's damage and you destroy the heart of VF. Some moves do a lot of damage. It's the reality of the game. Toning down that damage is the beginning of the end of the beauty of the game, imo. They're slow big ass characters who ca take a huge chunk of life off with one throw - so what? It's the nature of Wolf.

This thread is like a wishlist for changes to VF so that it's no longer VF. If I could have VF2 and VF3 online with Xbox, I'd never play VF5, ever. Both games, imo, are the pinnacle of the series where one combo could net you a round and they were hard to do. Now, it's remedial combo time in VF - everyone has the same formula just with different animations. Few of them are hard to do and the learning curve for the game is dumbed down to child's play.

If anything, tone up the frickin combo damage and make it scary again to mess up a move against a good player. At the rate you guys are going in this thread, you should rename the new version VF5:p for Parity.

If I'm ever interested in the opinion of the masses, I'll ask. Otherwise, excuse me for not taking notes everytime someone on here comes up with a Great Idea like reducing the damage on the Giant Swing (WTF!)

I try my best at ignoring some shit that gets spewed on here from time to time, like self proclaimed and overly-opinionated experts who claim to have mastered every character and every move in the game.

The fact is, the masses on VFDC are mostly beginner to intermediate in skill level and are not qualified to be suggesting changes to gameplay. Most of the suggestions are brought about due to the player's inablity, ignorance, lack of knowledge or skill. This is too damaging, that is overpowered.

Lemmy, I don't appreciate your sarcasm and the implication that I perhaps should value everyone's opinion. If "my users" were actually paying me to run this site, then I would most certainly take note of their opinion. But guess what? They don't. I run this site from my own time and money just so people like you can broadcast your opinion like it means something to someone.

Having said that, there are many people on here whose opinions I do hold in high regard. This respect is not given by default just because they bothered to register. It is earnt through their actions and contributions toward the community.

And let me make one thing clear: I'm not saying that I don't care about new players at all. That couldn't be further from the truth! The fact is that I welcome any and all new players, beginners, and intermediates alike. It's why I bother running this site in the first place. All I'm saying is that their opinion on gameplay changes is more often than not uninformed, and heavily biased.

I'm pretty sure if any game designer decided to let go of the reigns on design control and asked the masses what they wanted in the game, it'd turn into shit real fast.

I think they should take out throws completely. I don't like dealing with escaping throws. The game would be alot more straightforward if they took it out. You can focus on blocking and making the right guess with evades and circulars.

Throws are too cheap in the first place, its existence makes it pointless to block.

So Myke, either you accept that or get the fuck out of my way.

I guess you're right /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif The reason I thought of changing anything in Giant Swing is because I got bored with it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif and yeah... if the poor bastard is clumsy or stupid enough to NOT escape the throw it sometimes makes me feel bad about hammering the opponent's ass with it. But I just answered my doubts I think... it's their fault for not being skilled enough to either exact ukemi or escape the throw in the first place /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif (I finally feel good about using PGS, lol :D)
Anyway, the thing I'd like to see changed is still the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw. But that's just the way the throw looks, my world won't fall apart if there are no animation and other cosmetic changes to the game. As long as the game plays good it's OK.

Well, the game got a freakin' lot easier, I admit.
I know it's easier to net quite large dmg with many characters now, though I always thought it was made for the new players to not get turned off by the difficulty.... however, does anyone here think that anything in VF4 was sooo hard that it would make ppl not play it? Cause I don't.

But.... my mom told me that she thinks that grandma thinks that I really can hadouken with all characters... and she knows shit, cause she breakdances a lot... naked /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif Seriously, I'm the master, I'm the cloverfield monster, lol /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Hey! Why not take the guard button away? No /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif this way, so no throws, and no blocking. This way we can focus on core gameplay, the pure button fuck-up, total mashing as freakin' hard as you can.
I'm writing a mail to SEGA, you'll see! YOU WILL ALL SEE !

Thats a great fucking IDEA. That would open up the game even MORE! The game would look like a "Shaw Brothers" Kung Fu filck. Now that you mention it, I'm going to start playing Lion, LOL.

No we can keep throws, just don't let them do damage. This will break up the blocking and serve the purpose of throws, just no damage as a result. It will make the game even deeper than before, and balanced as though it sat upon a triple beam balance and the scale did not waver at all.

I couldn't believe that Blaze didn't have air throws. I hope he gets some soon.

    Also, Jeffry's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif throw should do 65 damage, like the backbreaker.

Air throws for ElBlaze will be sick(Give him that Jhonny Ace air Diamond Cutter), I'm still shock he didn't have any of the wall moves(Like Wolf)He got two throws, but that's it. El Blaze jumping Elbow has to much START up frames, compare to Wolf. Yeah, Jeffry "Go to Sleep throw" looks alot more brutal to do 55% Damage. But, I think the Guys On AM2 sort of have a balance meter(They go by) on how much overall damage a player does. Jeffery has alot of damaging setups. So I could see why, but still, that throw should do more damage, it looks to BRUTAL!

Why stick to hats? I think it would be nice to see different items fall to the ground in different situations. Hats, masks, some things attached to the waist and such.

I would like it if they made the game a little bit more "juggling friendly" hits would float better in the air making it possible to do longer combos

what do you more experienced players think of this idea?

How about super combos as well? Guard meter? While we're at it
    lets have a few fatalities.
