    To us fighting games fans the genre isn't boring but to the general public however, it is very much so. The whole "ROUND 1 FIGHT p p p pk k k KO" has since grown tired with most people during the late 90's. Needlessly to say though, bringing back VF3 stages wouldn't bring in new players..but IMO it would make matches funner to look at.

    VF3's stages were certainly more fun. Tactics aside I don't anyone can disagree with that. Nothing beats throwing opponents down Pai's sloping rooftop, kicking people off the top of Lion's steps down to the ground or chucking Lau over the Great Wall. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

    I didn't think 666p> p> 33p> 3346p was possible! I admit, I haven't paid attention to Akira's counter elbows enough yet. I've just been doing p> 66kk /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

    I got my max damage combos down for 214p, side crumples and yoho, Only got combos from 46p+g and his counter elbows to work on.

    I think Akira's shoulderram should launch on counterhit and recovery counterhit, on guard it should be -13.

    Would make it a balanced move IMO.

    And dear god, no stance for Goh. NO MORE STANCES!!!!! NO MORE STRINGS!!!!

    New character should be all about execution and straight up single hit attacks.

    My Vanessa wishlist:

    Boosts:

    Make it so G 1 / 3 K connects to Sleeper Hold hit throw

    Add a proper punisher for +14 situations. Something along the line of Jacky’s 3PPP+K. A 13 frame high move with one or two high followups that only combos on mc/ MC, does about 35-40 damage on minor counter and gives Vanessa a +4 or more advantage afterwards.

    Nerfs:

    Make walking speed a gameplay non factor (for all characters)

    Reduce pushback on 66K

    Make it so that G2/8P is jab counterable for all characters in both directions.

    Reduce 3P speed back to 10 frames (also nerf all LW 10f jabs back to 11)

    Make 3K -6 on guard instead of -5, increase total recovery frames for the animation


    OS

    Boosts:

    Redesign her P, make the animation less ugly and make it easier to bounce opponents OTG with it.

    Make 9P mid or special high so it becomes semi useful

    Make 9K+G beat throw clash, and fix all the crappy hitbox issues with it.

    New animation for her OM K so it has better reach. Worst OM K in the game right now.

    Give her a simple 40-45 damage throw on the back direction

    Nerfs:

    Make ws+K and 3P -8 on guard instead of -6

    Both stances

    Redesign 44K+G, K+G, P3P, 4P, 6K+G, and 6P+G so they’re different in each stance, if even only aesthetically.

    Redesign neutral P+G in both stances so it doesn't suck.

    Remove/replace DS 4K+G or make her backturned game better. I vote the former.

    Remove or replace 1K+G.

    Having a delayable M, H* followup is pretty good already, I think. Jacky can always Side Slide Shuffle, do nothing, and throw. Against opponents just standing there, it'll be a 0f throw.

    A cosmetic thing I'd like to see changed (fixed) is the horrible clipping with certain throw animations involving certain body sizes. Adding Taka to the mix may just make this even more noticable if they don't do something about it. If VF4 Evolution is anything to go by, then we may just see revised animations, but I won't be holding my breath.

    One last thing I want to address: bounce combos. Someone mentioned they'd like to see this toned down (why, I don't know). But I'm willing to bet that the octagon stage will allow for more bounce combos than before. Most bounce combos against a wall seem to work best when they're at an angle and moving along the wall, and I think the octagon stage will help that.

    Anyway, we'll see.

    Kage's /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is a counterhit only 17f launcher, why make it jab punishable? It's not like any other character's knee class MC launcher is. The damage isn't that spectacular either really.

    As the SPoD - I mean that I would like his harder to do command back. On VF4 (before Evo) the command was:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif,/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif
    The final command was /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif instead of just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif. Made it slightly harder as you had to do a quick QCF or QCB type motion on the end. This would make it slightly more impressive to pull off in a tight match.

    And yes, I would also like the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif motion back and get rid of the easy /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif DLC. I remember when Akira used to be an 'expert' character. He's getting too noob friendly. His knee will probably end up being /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif or something in VF5R.

    I agree, if it was too punishable it would be useless. It's not exactly the best combo starter.

    I'm not sure what you're talking about? As far as I've known, there never was any change for the last input, and I've been SPoD'n since VF2! You could always snap it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif for the last hit.

    The only change to ever made in SPoD history was the second command going from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif in VF3 to VF4.

    In early test versions of VF4, the SPoD went back to /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif for the 2nd input, but that obviously didn't remain.

    This is weird. Have a look at Akira's VF4 command lists (here on VFDC). It says on those that the end command is d,b/d,f but it doesn't on his VF2 and VF3 pages. I have also been SPoDing since VF2 and I was possitive that the command didn't change to just f or b until Evo. It has been in every one the games instructions and in command lists that I have seen as /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif. Plus I definitely found it easier to do in the later games (Evo onwards). What's the deal?

    I don't remember VF4 well enough to know if /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif was how you inputted the last hit.

    Edit: I know it was definitely just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif in 2, VF4 EVO and 5. Can't say for sure for the other games.
