Sigh, this is why online tournies don't work. Feelings get hurt!!! [IMG]

Honestly, if the lag wasn't intentionally then I no longer have any issues outside of Adam and koujou thinking we had bad lag.

But I agree, online is terrible for any fighting game. Unfortunately, the VF community is extremely small so most of us don't have any means of playing it other than online... especially this long after its release.

that would be me... We have played each other just a few times in some ranking matches when I was using my Konjou Akira account many, many, many months ago. I think last time I saw you, you were 10th Dan with a really nice record.

Any way I don't use that account anymore, I use my main account which is EMP XxKonjouxX, but you may know me as XxRodnutzxX which was what I was called before the EMP etc name change. While we don't know each other personal, we have played against each other a lot in DOA4. If I recall you have 2 accounts... DrDogg and DrDogg2 something like that.

I don't know why this is getting all blown out of portion... I was asked a question and I answered. While I found your Lei Fei (char you used against me at the time) to be very strong, our matches were very laggy on my end.

I don't see why requesting a latency test is such a bad thing as it's been requested to me by some of my opponents last year. Online tournaments are random man just sign up for the last 2 East tournaments and try again. There is still time to make it bro.

Hey bro - it's not that deep; you're looking into it too much.

After the last online qualifier, i mentioned to CidKid that you and i had a very close match, and that there was definitely lag. It was quite bothersome. I didn't make a huge deal about it because as others have said, it's to be expected in online tourneys. Lag sucks for VF in general, but playing against characters like Lei, Brad, & Pai is especially difficult.

We had a 2 bar connection if i recall correctly, but it was sluggish. I relayed that information to Cid because we play and speak often.

all i did was form a fake conversationn BASED ON WHAT YOU HEARD. which was ...NOTHING. all you heard was that adam talked to cidkid and warned him of your bad connection. is that really talking "behind's someone's back"?

Adam... I wouldn't call that bad lag, especially not compared to what I played CIDKID in, but I think you may also be reading too far into it. I was just going to ask you what was up, but it's all good.

Online play is terrible in any fighting game. Period.

SD... That's not the conversation that appeared in my head when I read that sentence. But then again, you know these people better than I do. Think about that...

Oh okay, I remember your name, but those matches were so long ago I don't remember if we had bad lag or not. You're in NY though (along with Adam) so I can see why the lag would be a little worse. I'm not on the west coast, but I'm closer to the west coast than I am to the east coast.

I don't have a problem with connection test. My problem was that it looked like intentional lag because I had no prior knowledge of CIDKID. This was my take:

    - Person asks for a connection test.
    - Test match plays out fine.
    - Real match starts and there's SEVERE lag.
    - Real match is restarted at my request to see if it was a random bad connection.
    - Real match is started again with the same SEVERE lag.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I think almost anyone in my position would have seen it as possibly intentional lag. That's not the case, but can you see why I thought it was?

I think enough is enough, DrDogg has expressed points on why he felt it was intentional, he wasn't being hostile in the first place, people notified him that there are indeed other examples of lag such as the Adam of the Yuki and Konjou, so now we all know the truth, nothing more to it.

Congratulations to the winners of the qualifiers, pce.

If there existed a huge lag between the matches, it's not good for both players actually. On the other hand DrDogg, if you didn't like those laggy matches, I believe CIDKID didn't either.

I was pretty surprised that akmaal entered the tournament. I don't mention the nationality(ex. Im japanese so I can't get any prize from the final) but the place where he lives. I thought he was supposed to be in east tournaments. I really wanted someone from west coast to make it because I am pretty sure that Akmaal would make it in east one of tournaments. WCG, some players, and I, as an individual, may not care of it, but players in west coast would not think it is a good idea.

Thanks to WCG the online tournaments aren't put together well. it seems that anyone can participate regardless if there from the east/west coast...i mean take a look at adamyuki's match against Drdogg, and drdogg is clearly from the west coast.

Eh, wow, look at all the drama taking place while I was busy playing pop'n music and rock band to hone my reflexes...

Dr. Dog, just give it up. Even if lag was affecting the outcome of some of your matches, and I'm not saying it wasn't, with ten chances to qualify, it shouldn't have been an issue. Statistically speaking, even if lag does make the results of matches somewhat random, the better player still has a heavy advantage. With so many chances to win, there is no way you could have failed that many times just because of lag. Also, accusing some of the most well respected players in the VF community of cheating isn't going to win you many freinds around here.

Seriously? Welcome to two weeks ago...

I was only referring to a single match, and I already stated multiple times I'm unfamiliar with the VF community and its players. Although I do know you're a DOA player... -_-

Bottom line is that you're late to the party with a post that has little to do with the long since resolved issue.

Not anymore. And with good reason... -_-

Right... which is why in the next paragraph you proceed to respond to a post on the issue which is over a week old.

Bottom line Dr. Dogg, you've been in online tournaments before, you knew what you were getting into. You may be playing VF now, but your attitude has DOA written all over it.

See the thing is, I'm not so sure he does know. He's been putting off a lot of negativity in this thread since the beginning. It seems to me that when one is presented with an opportunity, the correct response is to be thankful about it, rather than finding fault at every opportunity.

I know it's not really my problem and I probably shouldn't have said anything. But let me just say in my defense, Dr. Dogg never apologized. If he had apologized for making a baseless accusation, I never would have said anything. You can make of that what you will.
