That's what I first thought too but last year's WCG, Danny from Singapore was able to enter. I wasn't sure what happened there. I think he missed the qualifiers and someone else won. So they ended up having 2 representatives from Singapore? I dont know the details.

Thats not entirely true from what I gathered. Theres no hard limit on players you can enter to the final tournament from a single country as far as I know. The thing that people mix it up with is who gets the travel stipend for it. Usually only the national winner gets it.

Its possible that theres some practical limit, but it isnt limited to just one person as far as I know.

And yes, Singapore had two reps in VF last year. Germany (host country) had 3.

Thanks Manjimaru for the reply. I heard other information as well. Only 3 people can represent that country and the national winner is the only one that gets the travel stipend. Anybody else who will try to enter without no sponsorship, they will have to pay 1000USD.

Again, I'm not sure if this is any part true.

Sounds like the cost for the lodgings /food etc if you stay at the same place as other competitors.

It's entirely dependent on how a country's WCG wants to handle sending entrants to the WCG Grand Final.

They could hold tournament after tournament and decide to send more than the winner if their corporate sponsors are fine with the bill. And I'm sure you could make arrangements with your local WCG group about costs if you wanted to get on the team. Who knows - it's arbitrary how your WCG group wants to run things.

Showing up in Chengdu with 1000USD would do nothing, unfortunately. You need to be representing a country and have the backing of a national WCG sponsor.

Yosuke I spoke to Paul this morning. He is aware of the situation. He said the check you have should still clear even after the initial 90 days. If you can not cash it he says he has another check ready to send.

I just deposited my travel payment from WCG last week and basically it was just a regular check. Unless you have some restrictions from your bank account?
