For those of you who have the VSHG, can you please check to see if it works on a PC? Thanks in advance.

Ok here are some pics. I confirmed all buttons and the stick is indeed Sanwa. Also buttons and stick can easily be replaced also!! Woohoo!! Take a look..

Qtseng my pc detected my Stick but I have no games to test it out. Do you know a place I can download a demo or something to test out the stick?

Thanks for the pics, that stick is the real deal. Is that a square or octagon gate?

You will need to desolder the wires to remove the buttons. It's not a big deal really, why do you not have soldering equipment?

My friend just got one to check it out, Sega is still an impressive company even though it hates our guts.

    Dan,

From Juno's pictures, the buttons wires are quick-disconnects, meaning the wires are fitted with those metal crimps. No (de)soldering necessary.

Yes I would wait if I were you. My friend Worm has the HRAP3 and although it's real good I don't think the buttons are Sanwa and also the High grade feels more like a VF Arcade stick. If you guys ever used a VF Kit stick Sanwa was selling you would know what I mean. Catch 22 bought a few of them and made a few sticks with them.

Also I've been playing all day today and no problems yet. Hope I don't Jinx myself...

And yea I did not need to solder the button connections off. It was too hard to use my hands but I was able to use some crimps to remove them carefully.

    Square gate EVM.

You could switch the buttons without removing the wires also if you wanted.

Edit' I'm so dumb. Actually you can't because you need to remove the wires first.

The HRAP3 is a solid stick. I played on both the VSHG and the HRAP3 today and felt no difference in terms of response. The biggest difference for me is the size and weight. The VSHG is smaller and heavier than the HRAP3. I really doubt there will be anyone out there who can play on one and can't play on another.

That is good to hear. I cannot wait for the restock of the VSHG, so I changed my order to the HRAP3s.

I just got my HRAP3 today and its awesome. I am not used to playing on such a responsive stick, I love it.

I have been using the Namco stick for ps2 for a long time now and I want to carry on using a lightweight stick like that for vf5. I suspect the fighting stick: http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?cookie%5Ftest=1&product_id=802608
is as shite as they've always been, can anyone confirm that? So could anyone recommend a lightweight and decent stick for ps3?

Re: Virtua Stick High Grade vs Real Arcade Pro Sti

I ended up getting the fighting stick this week bacause my Elecoms didn't work and I didn't feel like shelling out $140 to Japan Video Games for the HRAP3.

The fighting stick is probably closest to the VF4/Evo sticks made for the PS2. I think there's some pictures here of one opened up by LA Akira. I'm not sure how long it will last, but I'm enjoying it for now. My only real issue with it is that since most of us will be chaning /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif to the R1, R2 and Square, it puts your hands closer to the stick, but my hands haven't hit the stick at all yet. Also, playing akira I'm pretty picky about the feel of the stick, and I actually prefer the lighter feel of this lever to the one in my HRAP1, which was heavier, although higher quality.

For the $ though, the VSHG really does seem the best now that I've seen it gutted.

Thanks for the reply akiralove, did you ever play the fighting stick 2 on ps2, I bought one and it was seriously shit as. I just hope its not like that. Either way i will have to import as Im in UK and Sega couldnt care less. Is that really the only alternative? No other decent sticks.

Good to hear your pc detects VSHG. I plan to use it for MAME, so if you happen to have that, please try it out. Thanks.
