    Play-asia.com does sell them but Im not sure about those restrictions they have in UK. You can also try ncsx.com.

    Re: VSHG vs HRAP3 Review

    Few days ago I got mine VSHG. Its very, very, very good and cool. Buttons work perfectly, very softly. Stick also works somehow superbly /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif I recommend that stick very much.
    In game I set my buttons that way:

    triangle=guard
    O=punch
    L1=kick
    other=no use

    Does this layout correspond with arcade machine layout ?

    As long as nothing is perfect this issue is the only weakness of VSHG in my opinion. Those buttons could be 2cm higher and it would be perfect. Also stick is very close to buttons but contrary to ma expectations it didn't bother me at all.

    The same situtation in here. Control panel recognize stick as VSHG but only buttons work, I can't calibrate the stick, when I move the stick "change view" option activates.. I also couldn't add some non standard stick - any solutions for that problem ? (I tested this with ePSXe with T3) Also tried with that button emulation soft but it didn't help.
    Sudden_Death in some other topic you said that you did manage to set it all up - could you please post your solution ?
    Now all that left is to learn how to play on a stick... /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    That all depends. It is what I often see on US arcade machines. If your looking for authentic Japanese layout, then the default control scheme in the Options Menu is correct. Square=Block; Triangle=Punch;Circle=Kick

    Is this 100% sure ? I'm asking cos I find it less comfortable to play using thumb for guard...
    When I look at this site I'm almost convinced that my layout was OK ? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
    Could some one actually playing in Japan confirm whole thing ?
    And Matt_K I', sorry I'm asking about it so much but I do not want to get used to a wrong layout.

    Villain, the default japanese layout is Thumb on guard. And personally that's my favorite layout, but...

    US arcade layout (as messed up as it was because it wasn't consistent for both players) was typically index on guard. Or suggestive of that.

    In Korea, I believe the common layout is linear with index on Guard as well.

    Because of the early layouts of VF1 and VF2 (and VF3) in the US, I used to use index on guard. When I played VF3dc (DC version of TB) I switched to thumb on Guard and I prefer it by a longshot. My hand doesn't cramp at all on some of the more complicated stuff.

    But the Korean layout leaves me even more in awe of the skills of Akira Kid's VF2 tape.

    Side note: Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection and the new PS3 Firmware 1.70 patch sort of create a new dynamic for the HRAP3 vs. VSHG debate (if you can call it that). In T5DR, the sensitivity of the VSHG buttons makes it easy to get something like 3_4 instead of 3+4. A lot of people botch up simultaneous button inputs on the VSHG. Kind of odd. However, both the Fighting Stick 3 and the HRAP3 do not (maybe only just for now) work on PS2 and PSX games, even under the 1.70 firmware update. Since the 1.70 firmware update, the VSHG works with PS2 and PSX games.

    I have a quick question since I don't actually own a PS3 yet. I read another post on the Cheap Ass Gamer site that discussed the HRAP3 vs. the VSHG. The post mentioned that the VSHG had buffering and lag issues with Tekken. Does anyone know if this is true or not?

    For Tekken 5 DR, yes it's true... it has issues when inputting 3 or more inputs at once... no lag though....

    The issue is basically the sensitivity of the buttons. At least that's what a lot of people (including myself) believe.

    The buttons are very, very sensitive. Tekken 5 DR's buffer is very sensitive in terms of determining when you are pressing buttons simultaneously as opposed to tapping one quickly and then another.

    You don't have to push the buttons down much for them to register, you can tap them gently and they will register. Which seems to be why this issue occurs when using the VSHG with T5DR.

    I haven't heard what the experience has been like playing T5DR with a "modded" VSHG with replaced buttons. It's supposed to be very simple to replace the buttons on the VSHG, so I am sure it's a likely solution.

    But if anyone has tried that, please let us know whether or not that works out.

    It's not the buttons. I have Sanwa OBSF-30 buttons (same as VSHG) on my RAP3, and the RAP3 doesn't have the multi button input problem in DR that the VSHG has. It has it in V5 though, where the VSHG doesn't have it.

    It's a very weird issue for sure...

    Now that you mention it, once in awhile (like maybe once in a thousand inputs), I feel like an input somewhere disappears when I play VF5 on either the Hori Fighting Stick 3 (which I have) or the HRAP 3 (which a friend has).

    It hasn't necessarily been terribly game breaking (though maybe round-frustrating). I usually think it's just me, but throughout the night it happens again and on simple things. My inputting is not perfect, but something definitely feels odd.

    So have others confirmed that while the VSHG has that dropped input issue in T5DR (which I admit to have had many times), the HRAP 3 has the same for VF5?

    Is there some funky business with the PS3 drivers?

    I have an HRAP3 and there's definitely a problem with multiple inputs that pop-out from time to time. I notice it more when I do TRs and QRs

    Yea I had issues doing certian things whenever I used the HRAP3. Like with Lei for some reason I had trouble going into Sui Ra Kan Shiki after Ne Han Shiki. I always thought it was just me but with my High grade it never was a issue.

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif , /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif

    On the other hand my High Grade would sometimes just stop working and I would have to unplug it. This happens like once every 500 matches.

    I have actually heard the hrap 2/1 is more responsive than the hrap 3

    If you shock the controller, as in a static shock, the same thing happens. Out here in SoCal, with the dry air and the wind that blows through the Inland Empire, it is common for me to have to unplug and replug in my VSHG because of static shock.

    It's real dry here also so there's a lot of static around. Didn't know that was the cause.

    Re: Virtua Stick High Grade vs Real Arcade Pro Sti

    Wow, that actually makes sense with what's happened to me. I play VF at various places. In one place, I have had to replug in the VSHG a few times. That place definitely does have static shock when I touch the PS3. At other places, I have not had to replug in the VSHG, and *gasp* no static shock when touching the PS3.

    I was really wondering what was causing issues with having to replug in the VSHG. Thanks Matt!
