I'm new so let me start by saying hi to everyone. Now that's done, I'm here to ask if the HRAP3sa is compatible with PS2/PS1 games? I'm also interested in knowing how much some of you paid to import an VSHG or HRAP3 to the US through play-asia.com (customs & shipping included)

To the guy who is searching for a USB extention cable, go pick us a cheaply USB, ball-less, mouse form Wal-Mart. That should do the trick. If not, there's always Radioshack.

Everything on the stick feels plastic and cheap. Your better served getting either the HRAP3 (for a lot more) or the VSHG (for a few dollars more).

The FS3 is a decent stick for what it is. I am tempted to say that it's a great stick when you consider what has been released in the US for US distribution, but Hori had already released the following sticks in the US:
-Soul Calibur 2 stick on PS2
-DoA4 stick on 360
-Tekken 5 stick on PS2

And compared to those, it's not as good. It's still good enough imo, but the Virtua Stick High Grade just sets a much much higher bar for arcade sticks imo.

The FS3 is a pure Hori stick. All parts are Hori. Hori sticks were considerably good and still are, but they aren't and never have been Sanwa. They're designed for the home market to fit in smaller housing for portability and light weight. On their own, they are pretty darn good--just not arcade perfect. It's not like playing on Hori sticks killed our VF game.

Killing our VF game was the job of really bad sticks like the original Virtua Stick and Virtua Stick Pro for the Sega Saturn/Dreamcast/PSX (VSHG is a big exception to the "Virtua Stick legacy"), or the Shadowblade/Alloy Stick that was made Interact, or some of those sticks made by MadCatz and company.

The problem with going for the HRAP3 and the VSHG though is the shipping costs. More likely than not, you're ordering these sticks online and the shipping on them is pretty big. So while the price of retail is a few dollars more (well, like 20-30 more), the shipping can be anywhere from 20-40 bucks.

If you have a friend going to Japan though, and they have space in their luggage, I highly recommend asking them to pickup the VSHG for you. Heck, for any videogame controller accessory (I got a VF4: Evo stick for like $30 this way a few years back).

So I got the FS3,and I have been attempting to get it to work on PCs. It will work on one of my Windows XP setups, but not the others. I can not figure out why it works only on this one system

dang, i just ordered a FS3...but i guess its ok since you all arent totally bashing it...
a decent stick...ive had some really really bad sticks in the past (a dual arcade stick set up i got when i worked at EB for $20)...i guess you get what u pay for.
i totally intend to get the VSHG once play asia gets more instock

Anyway, on point; has anyone's VSHG just stopped working? A couple of days back I kicked my PS3 on and hit big X button. I hit it again... then once more. No dice. I have a USB extention I was using so I didn't have to actually sit directly ON the tv to play, so I took that off and tried it again. Still, the juice wasn't there. I actually restared the big, black George Forman a few times with and without the extention with no luck. Then, I finally did it after like the 13th time and booya, it worked.

Anybody know what that's about?

 

I have one brand new VSHG brand new in box that I'd be willing to sell for $120 each shipped in the US only. I have second one also but it's on hold for right now. PM me if you're interested.

 

I bought the VSHG and it is very beautiful .
It is better than the hori .

 

Not only is the VSHG better than the HRAP3, but it also works with PS2 games, whereas the HRAP3 doesn't.

 

Huh? Since when does the VSHG work with ps2 games?

 

It must have been after the new firmware update (1.70). For anyone that has the VSHG, try it out and see for yourselves!
