We will get a proper trailer in May I'm guessing as VF5 REVO will be the main game.

It's really good that they give Akira this new design, it looks cool and unique. I always thought since first VF that it wasn't great idea they give Akira design very similar to Ryu. You want the main character of your game as unique as possible to be instantly and easily recognizable

Cant wait to see how other characters look

Glad to see Sega finally pushing VF worldwide.

I hope their efforts to get VF5U & REVO going till VFnext pays off, is going to be an uphill battle, I dont think a balance update after 14 years is going to be enough, VF5 life has been long enough already.

      But good news all around.

      Congrats to the AM2 devs.

So do you think it's a reboot, sequel or both (soft reboot). I'm concerned about characters not returning. Obviously Akira is in it, but I was a bit upset to see Sarah is a woman named Stella. I can see Lau being replaced with a successor due to his illness. I know I just have to wait for more information to get confirmation. I think Stella might be a clone of Sarah.

Old and younger, you can see that VF REVO is attracted guys from other franchises. It's a good thing! I think Virtua is great and unique.
That new wave of players could be an honeymoon effect. Sega needs to be proactive !

Where did you get this image?
It looks like a YouTube video, how can I watch it?

      That is a cool reveal!
I'm not a fan of the cowboy shingo Akira outfit, or giant she hulk Sarah, or the bland colours used for the game trailer, but still, a new VF is good news. If they had put a 6 at the end of the name, it would have been more impactful.:D

My gut feeling is that it is a fake image.

A new VF (big project and high production) and VF REVO (PC + rollback + rebalance).

It's still unreal, this is too good to be true.

The "VF" title with no number is encouraging. I was saying for many years now that they need a real reboot. I hope the roster is much smaller. I feel that the imperative of expanding the roster was largely responsible for the things about VF5US that I hate--not just the bloated roster, but the very large and esoteric move lists and the various annoying things they had to give to different characters to make them unique in a big roster.

I hope the engine is more like the VF4 entries, that they get rid of lazy throw escape, and they 86 a lot of the respective character-specific bullshit. Sadly, I think I'm hopelessly old school when it comes to this stuff.

For my own reassurance I went and tracked down the reference akai has mentioned to original VF5 team members being involved in New Virtua Fighter Project:

In the VF Direct, Sega President and COO Shuji Utsumi said, in English

      nvfp_2006.jpg

"This is the first time since 2006 that the original team will be back on it."

      Timestamped embed:

2006 was the release of the original VF5. 5R was 2008 and FS was 2010--so one implication is that the original team wasn't involved in those updates to 5.

Later in the VF Direct, "SEGA Director of RGG Studio / Executive Producer" Masayoshi Yokoyama said, in translation,

      nvfp_vfdevs.jpg

"For a number of years now, we have been working on this project together with the Virtua Fighter developers as a united team."

      Timestamped embed:

Virtua fighter fucking 6 !! I'm still shocked from that reveal, what a time to be alive !
Many may have notice the elegancy of the New logo :
If you look carefully the big "VF" shapes a "VI" so it does "Virtua fighter VI". Smart, isn't it ?

I saw a gameplay photo with a second little bar under the life bar. That worries me. I hope it's a new "Shame Meter" that fills up a little every time a player cockpunches or back dashes. If the meter fills up, the character shits his/her pants and crumples for a huge combo like when you get side kicked while backdashing. SEGA needs to hire me as a consultant.

The gameplay looks so intricate, from what I see, RGG's paying close attention to the characters and asking themselves how would a Bajiquan practioner/master like Akira avoid a kick or block an elbow? It's very unique and Sega again makes a historical impact by bring new and unique ideas to the table.

So far the game looks DAMN good!!! It definitely resembles Virtua Fighter 3 on so many levels...like they took it up a notch...or two.

Keep it with those Ip Man sound effects, Sega. Can't wait to see what Wolf, Goh, and Lau bring to VF6. Just my guess, but something tells me Dural will be the 1st DLC character if not, Siba.

Also, why are there so many people saying ring outs won't be a thing?? Do they forget Taka has sumo stages???

Do you think Lau will still be alive or be able to fight? I'm guessing a new character will take his place. I'm glad it's having environments similar to VF3, it's why when I first got into dead or alive with doa2 on ps2, I really enjoyed it with the environmental interactions. Also any thoughts if true that leaked screenshot with the extra bar/gauge?

Sarah and especially Vanessa in VF4 were in quite amazing shape. It makes sense in my opinion for martial artists both male and female to be toned and have some bit of muscle at least.

It depends on what RGG wants to do with the characters but I personally believe Lau Chan will return. He has the greatest story out of all the characters and don't see them off-screening someone as powerful him.

ALSO, if you know a thing or two about the lore, the drunken Kung Fu master, Shun Di is also doctor. I don't think he'll cure Lau of his illness but he'll probably give him something to temporarily subside his sickness for one more chance to enter the tournament. Lol, I'm just not ready for Lau to be on the bench.

As far the "leaked" image, I have my doubts. I personally don't see why a game like this would need meter, but we're in modern times...only time will tell. Let em cook ;)
