i want to see a sambo style character and an Turkish oil wrestler and maybe even cappoera style, there are so many styles that they can bring into vf.

From an aesthetic perspective, I really think it just needs some heavier shading. Gives it that "serious" look, y'know.

    That's also a fairer system.

The real issue in FS isn't the sidesteps, it's the sidestep cancels and side htis being able to lead to massive damage, the risk/reward isn't fair.

Sidestep cancels are legit tech. It protects you from getting punished from failed evade. f on ST are better then normal . its meant to be more rewarding. Thats what sideguard is. Your not meant to press buttons when your sideturned. Your supposed to evade or better just guard until there string is over. lts fine how it is and adds more depth to the gameplay. Other games dont even have this, which makes VF unique.

You're confusing legit tech with balanced.

Your punishment for evading wrong should be a failed evade. I'd also buff side throws so that they'd have multiple escapes just like front throws (and maybe evading a side throw would leave the throw escaper at -7)

That's why you look at your opponents habits and what kind of dash they cancel their Evades with. Movement has always been a big thing in Sega games, even though people felt it was nerfed from the VF4 days. You've always been able to cancel evades, I don't see why that would change.

    Besides, there's already anti-EDC tech

    A few quick ideas/wish-lists for a VF6:

    . Separate servers/visiblity due to DC-status:
There should be a separate "space" where you get when you have 3 DC's, and you only get back to the real lobby/arena/server when you have redeemed yourself by fighting - well - without disconnecting for a while, or when a week/month has passed. This would make us that never disconnects have a more tidy network.

. Three DC's in a row should also result in an automatic lost match on the record.
Sure it would be crap if ones internet gave up without one intended it so, but that should be ones own risk to take if wanting to play online when not having a stable internet connection anyways, having three in a row should lessen the possibility of it not being intended though - and having such bad connection should be a problem anyways if so.

. Character-customization-points (how much stuff you can add to the char), points toward that should be awarded when having reached a new rank
, with perhaps 50 being max. you should keep them when getting demoted, and it would really make high ranked/good players stand out visually if prefered.

    . More Character-customization-items.
There should be a lot of them, the basic ones whould be redily available from the start, but not evetyhing can be used before getting more customization points.

    . DLC/Buyable item-packs,
these are just flair of course, and totally optional for us that could spare a few bucks now and then to keep our character personal - while also supporting SEGA (and in the prolonging the life of our beloved VF).

    . Fight-start poses/tunes:
Some bunch of short music/sound-sampels to be played at that animation at the start of the fight for each char, also more of that buyable, and different animations/lines and music customizable (which music and which pose) and so on.

    . Winning-poses galore.
There should be a lot of them, perhaps some also buyable as dlcs from time to time.
One should also be able to set which 1-4 ones one prefers to show when winning, adding to that personal flair.

These Ideas are all systematic and visual ideas for now : )

I think it would be awesome if they could also have the option to let people use Kinect to do some poses. The only two problems with that, though is that:

    1) it could take their focus away from the actual fighting game
    2) you could have people doing obscene stuff

I think a disconnect should count as a loss, period.

I keep going back to chess servers as an example, because I like the way they handle this. They usually will have a flag where you can specify how you want to deal with disconnects. Either you turn the flag on, which means anyone who disconnects, regardless of reason, gets a loss. Or you turn it off, and there's no penalty. I would still keep the disconnect status, since I think it's useful in avoiding people.

Not could, would. The fact that tea-bagging is a thing that exists is a testament to this.

Also, VF is already leading the pack in regards to victory poses, lets not get greedy. The best we could realistically hope for is for there to be an equal number next time around.

Is it possible to select victory poses a la Tekken in VF:FS? If so how is this done?

Hold guard, and a direction during the replay.

Note that this doesn't work online. Only for offline matches.

Okay cool. Thanks, guys! I've been missing that.

Wish I could use it online to make sure my Pai never speaks again. Her new voice drives me f**king nuts.

I think the complaints over the graphics are pointless. This is a game that was released back in, what, 2006? Of course it's not going to look as good as what we got now. But back when the game was first released, it looked incredible. I'm sure VF6 would look amazing on next-gen hardware. As for what I'd like to see in a potential VF6, this is what I would do for online play:

    • Whatever they did for their netcode, I want more of that. They should have actual lobbies though. For the ranking system, I think what I would do is have a ranking decay system where your rank goes down over time while you're not actively playing. I think this would discourage players from cheating the system, as they cannot have a permanent, undeserved rank and then walk away. And naturally, if you stop playing a game for a while, you tend to get rusty, so your rank should drop accordingly.
    • A disconnect results in an automatic loss/drop in rank for the player who disconnected. I think devs should be tough when it comes to ragequitters. I like that "ragequit hell" that was implemented in MvC3, I would add that too.
    • In response to the above changes, I would make the ranking system a bit easier for players to level up. The amount of points you earn for beating an opponent would scale up in proportion to the defeated opponent's rank. So perhaps a Hunter beating a Destroyer could result in several rank-ups since the gap is wide.
    • Replays should let you display all the data, such as players' names, win/loss records, etc. VF4 Evo had some cool features that I would add to replays, such as slo-mo and frame skip.

To the first point, that's not a bad idea in theory, but I feel like you'd get people saying 'so i have to play the game forever, pfft, not wasting my money on this.'. Maybe they could do like, a monthly ranking thing to compensate, where you if you're in the top 10 for that month you get some kind of trophy (not a 'PSN achievement trophy, just like, some kind of medal to make you feel accomplished).

And it seems like most games don't display names in replays anymore. Maybe some whiners complained that people put the replays on youtube, and they were embarrassed by it, or something dumb like that.

I wish you had individual rank by character like BB does. I like playing as just about everybody, but I play ranked almost exclusively, and I don't like ranking down, so I feel discouraged from spending too much time on subs.

I don't care about story even the slightest bit, but I really do hope we get a new world tour mode. It'd make it so much easier to get down the move lists for my non-mains. Either way, with the Sega Europe cup happening in August, VF6 is probably a long way off.

True that, shaders are holding VF back visually. Do the test: watch a VF match with squinty eyes so it goes a bit blurry. It looks like real life! The bright shaders break that illusion though:p

I think the graphics are fine personally but one thing I am starting to notice is the animations in throws. If you look closely at the complex throws you will notice that the animations aren't quite there. The arms and hands don't exactly go where they are supposed to and it looks a bit fluffed. I would like to see more accurate animations for the throws. This is especially noticable with characters like Aoi who have complex throws.

I'd like the throw escape animations to be more elaborate and maybe even character specific. Eileen shouldn't shrug off wolf in the same way Jeff does. Could also be a way to add balance to the game.
