True big boobs doesnt equal everything BUT dudes dont want to look at girls who are billboards either. For some dudes bigger is better LOL!! Thats where DOA comes in. Women like Tina, Lisa leifeng, and Christie have breast that are above average for there size but doesnt look TOO rediculous like some chicks out of eichi anime/manga lol. Just my perspective.

I get the feeling that if VF changed it's aesthetics by making it more 'flashy' or sexualised then it would only hurt the game. The long-time fans don't care, and I doubt it would capture any casuals. At the end of the day, they already have Street Fighter, Tekken et al. to choose from already, by changing VF it would make it look like it's playing 'Me too!' and it would just lose it's unique identity.

I wish VF6 will run decently on next gen consoles (could be hard to handle for the wii u...).

to be honest i am looked upon as a casual and i love vf, i started playing cos i could "play dress up" with the characters then got into the system, there is aspects there for casuals and casuals can enjoy it if they only gave it a chance

To be honest re-designing or changing an established character in any fighting game is a BIG no-no for me. When we select these characters to play in a fighting game and spend the time learning their moves etc we buy into the whole package: the moves, the look, the voice, everything. So changing anything like that should never be done. Which brings me to my number one complaint with VF at the moment. The voice changes made to Pai Chan from VF4 to VF5: FS are a prime example of what I am talking about.

    VF4:

In VF5:FS she sounds totally different and has a really girly, young, annoying voice. This kind of change is not good and is only guaranteed to piss established fans off. This change hurts me every time I play.

wow i never noticed that but the new voice doesn't bother me except for her " dont blame me if you get hurt" line it sounds like she talking through a microphone

Wow, monster thread. Tried to read most of it, but it's kind of impossible. :)

I have to say that VF only caught my attention when VF2 came out, and it was mostly because of Lion and the flashy moves. Then I really became impressed by the fluid play of two players who used Shun Di and Akira respectively-- closest thing to a martial arts movie I ever saw in a game.

I think that the only reason VF hasn't really caught on is lack of marketing. One game, which I think was a pretty pure boxing simulation in its first two iterations, was Fight Night, and that was a very big success.

I am probably in the minority here, but I would prefer something other than what will probably be VF6. I am not so crazy about a lot of gameplay issues in VF5 and FS. I think that by trying to make so many characters they have had to add too much shenanigans and wackiness to the game and the strength of the core VF system is diminished.

There is too much shit that players can do that gives too much reward and is too difficult to punish for how easy it is to execute. Ex: Wolf's charge move, Vanessa wacky elbow, Akira's new simple shoulder, Vane's kk, Jacky beat-knuckle kick & Spam Shuffle, Goh and Aoi's magical eat everything moves, etc. etc. So much of the game is just shenanigans management. Many players seem to practically base their entire game around shenanigans. Of course, some of this is due to online, but some of it is also game design.

I would actually be happier if SEGA released a new stand alone VF title. Maybe all the chars up to VF 4 or something. (I could personally do without every added from Evo and on, though some people would be very sad if they did this.) And they should go back to some of their older design philosophies from 3 and 4 (some hybrid of the two b/c I know there were big differences between them... less shenanigans... less utility from run away tactics... nerfed strings... narrower tiers... etc.

FS is obviously the best FG around today, but there really is no updated version of VF3 or 4. It is a very different game.

Sounds more like you can't deal with EX highs.

YOMI not a legendary game designer

I think the game should have more EX high moves, some characters have a very hard time in countering 2P spam, like Jeff. Then there are ridiculous characters like Jacky who has S.high moves in every other string or something else stupid.

Not really. The game needs more flash imo. VF only looks good at advanced level. When you see 2 beginners/intermediates playing its boring. There just throwing out random moves. Abare all day. When i watch Tekken or SF at low level it still looks good. The attacks and combos look amazing regardless of the skill level. Trust me casual players look for visual appeal. Thats all they know because they dont play the game enough to understand the technical gameplay itself.

That's a good point. Personally, though, one of the reasons I'm attracted to this game is because it takes real skill to make it look beautiful, and I find that motivating that one day I could play at that level.

Which is also the reason people who play VF think its boring because they have become good before the game becomes exciting. VF takes time. They cant expect to be good right away. lts too deep,

Those games are worse at low levels, because of how long they take. VF needs more flash, but a different kind.

The game is deep, but its not impossible, and a lot easier to get into than other fighters, its just people coming from other fighters are lost and don't know how to unlearn.
