Yes the idle stance practically everyone moves more energetic and lively. As a kickboxer you should be more active in an idle stance. Brad just stays there with his hands up doing little movements with his knees. Not very convincing to me. Just from her stance, Mila already would just seem more interesting to me.

Well, I agree with you there. Alot of people complained about Vanessa and Jeffrey's skin lightening. And yes it sucked because both characters, looked better when they looked dark and black. And besides that, nerfing them and other VF characters, didn't really go well, with alot of VF fans.

Well many VF fans, including a former soul calibur player like myself, have complained for years, about wanting more characters in VF. That game should have had, about over 30 characters or more at least. And them removing enviromental stages and Taka sucked too.

Agreed on white washing... It was just too stupid.

I think Jean was a crappy design honestly... Awesome style tho.

Single player content I think we all agree that VF4Evo walks all over Final Showdown.
Gameplay wise, it probably depends on preference. I personally prefer most of the changes in 5FS (Lazy throw escape being the primary one).

Disagree that any characters got more complicated in later games though.

This very esoteric and specific I'm not sure I can really comment with any real weight on idle stances.

Disagree on more characters. Virtua Fighter is all about quality, not quantity.

Exactly. Quality over quantity. And that is why VF deserves more characters.

I'm not sure I follow your logic.

Yea its a nitpicky subject for me. I mean I've watched some pro players like YellowTail playing Brad at high tournaments. He actually made him look really good. But at the end of the day for me, it's really all about style bro. Jacky has a bounce in his step, Sarah has a little bops in her fighting stance and her quick footwork. Kage is ready to flip someone at any moment with his readiness stance it just shows alot about a character. Some characters have that swag and some don't.

But it doesnt always have to be a certain stance for me to play someone. The design of the character matters too. And some designs are either just plain Gis or really casual clothing, even the muscle tones were toned down in Wolf's case. I miss Wolf's orange shorts and sneaker look in VF2. It wasnt your average wrestling getup. It was different.

mila's stance in DOA6 is an unfair comparison as she has the single best idle pose in that whole series. Even other characters in that game don't have comparable stances, maybe their Brad comes close.

The stances also are to convey personality. Brad is stalwart and doesn't need to move much, while someone like Eileen is flinchy and constantly picking at her body with her nervous monkey-like ticks.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who cares for such small details like a fighting stance. I thought I was going a bit hard on VF. Not to confuse anyone but VF is easily my favorite 3D fighter. I even started playing DoA5LR just for the sole purpose as playing as Jacky Bryant, a guest character XP. He's one of my favorite characters of all fighting games.

It's just that it hasn't been as big as it was and its a shame. I really hope VF6 is a thing but I dont want it to just be another Virtua Fighter also with a limited roster and no story mode. I'm currently watching the anime of VF and it's already my favorite fighting game anime iteration. If they were to make a VF6, definitely would prefer a reboot of the main 10 characters with new ones like the ones that were omitted in VF1, Majido, Jeff etc.

And no its not like I want them to copy Soul Cal. Its just a good refresher of the series for both new fans and old.

I agree. Sadly, alot of silly, ridiculous circumstances caused that. But bad things don't always last long. I see a big return, and a great future for VF.:)

    Me,..........

    I'm literally sick of reboots.:p

  12. If VF6 is ever a thing, I can see a Story Mode inside. Not because Sega is urged by marketing but because it would be easy for them. Sega has now a strong expertise regarding cinematography with the Yakuza series. As former AM2 member and VF2 developer, Nagoshi defo could do something.

Morever, Katagari was the game director of Yakuza 6 and Judgment. He's likely to be the director of Virtua Fighter 6 if it happens. Now that he got the know-how to master the Dragon Engine, the story mode would even be cheaper to design- or rather ambitious considering what they aim to do. When Virtua Fighter tries something new, it's always highly qualitative so we might be pleasantly surprised.

Now depends if a customized Dragon Engine would fit Virtua Fighter better than Unreal Engine 4 or another homemade engine, and I'm having doubts about that since Virtua Fighter's featuring very exotic locations. Also eventually depends of the Suzuki's involvement as he spent four years to master the Epic's engine.

I'd rather have it made with a home made AM2 engine.

Unreal is.just so generic... T7 doesn't look good with it and people.have been taking about input lag with it.

Usually AM2's engines are such good looker..it will depend on the arcade situation as well (but again their newest House of the Dead was made with Unreal and it had a decent art style).

I actually never thought about it this way, but if VF featured Yakuza style in it's story mode, it will absolutely stand out in the crowd.

We should get together and fund a kickstarter for a spiritual followup at this point.

Unlikely, but it would be a fun project with the right people.

In the mean time I'd love a pc version of FS that we could mod. A community project would be amazing.
