Well, for startes it's a dude. He's emo-ish and for some maybe gey-ish, but what the hell, it's a new one.
The stage on the screens resembles Lion's, however I don't think it's his new stage. I think it's a completely new one.

Please, just because someone kicks and punches doesn't mean he/she uses "xxxxx" style. Hundreds of martial arts styles share the same concept, why can't they share the same/simmilar techniques. Karate and Taekwondo are very good example of two different styles, with different approach to competition, and almost the same base for the style itself.
Jumping and spinning kicks are done in Karate, Taekwondo, maaaaaany different kung-fu styles, and definitely more than we can ever name. It's just my opinion, but why try to prove the new char fights with a style different than Karate? They said it's Karate-like, so leave it at that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

The aura is only for the trailer purpose, so even if it's an item it's strange that some ppl already suspect VF will go glowy and sparky in a Tekken way /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif
Like I said, Karate just like hundreds of other styles has some low stances and Akira-like movement, so just because a character wears a gi, doesn't make him/her a rival of Akira or what's even worse, his copy!
Goh wears a gi and punches and kicks! It has to be Akira's clone! F... that!
Akira's fighting style is called Hakkyoku-ken (which is Chinese Baji quan) ONLY beacause ALL of the styles' names are either ENGLISH or JAPANESE! It doesn't frickin' mean he or any other char uses some other style....

That's the problem.

Lol, seriouly he looks bad-ass. Whatever style it is, Kempo, Karate, TKD or Wing Chun (that last one would be really sweet) the game "should" be an improvement on VF5 just like EVO was to VF4.
Now that the vid is out (thank God!) it's easy to see that Taka IS returning. I hope that for balance issues Taka lost some weight.

Did anybody notice that the punches that the new guy was doing resembled Ryo's (from the SNK games) multi-punch special move?

What I'm most impressed with is that the stages seem much more interesting. Karate dude and Taka Jr. both look pretty cool, gender confusion notwithstanding.

I didn't think it would be coming this soon! Maybe even a console release by November... I mean, looks like the stages are done! Add a high punch inashi for Brad and I'm officially in love... with the game, not with Brad.

Why in every virtua fighter game they choose jacky as the character to get beat on by all the others in the demos?

When it comes to VF5 R don't worry about the sausage-fest issue.Sega will make up for that with more and sexier outfits for the current female cast. Sarah is like Mariah Carey and Britney Spears, the older she gets the less cloths she wears!
Furthermore, if the amount of T&A in a fighting game concerns you go play DOA.

 

Yeah too many contraints on the character and he was a Problem for designers to work around.......Atleast thats what i read in a old article back then.

Also did i mention sumo wrestles jobs consist of Knocking you out of a ring? lol! Only Wolf and Jeffry cannot be the only ones not to get man-handled by him that would be unfair and unbalanced.

 

Hmm I don't know, I'm a bit skeptic. That karate guy looks like a second Goh. Hope they integrated Taka well. I just hope AM2 didn't screw the game.

One thing is certain and that's the lack of Suzuki's guidance... Of course, I'm not saying that VF 5 R will suck - they can do great things even without Yu with them but... it's clear that he's not the head anymore.

 

Damn, it seem like Testuya Nomura is the character designer for Goh and the new guy. Well at least I'm happy because they added a style I wanted in the series. I still wish they add Krav Maga, but I guess is very simliar to "Vale Tudo".
