Virtua Fighter 5 R!

difference is FT was more of a gameplay mod where Evo was a semi new game (new characters, stages, etc)

I have no doubt this will eventually come out for PS3 at least w/ online play.

Now the question is if it comes to PS3 and 360 at the same time which one does the VF community play?

...side note I am planning to go to Japan sometime this year so now I will wait to see what the release date is set at. probably sometime in the summer... my thoughts

 

I completely agree with you. If it was to come out on both 360 and PS3 (lucky us eh) then I would stick with the 360 version. LIVE is a far better network and has more users. Every PS game with online play always feels empty and tacked on. I was excited to hear that Tekken 5 was online on PS3 but the online mode was terrible and didn't work at all (this was before I finally realised how utterly diabolic Tekken is compared to VF).

 

My intention is that its way too early to think about a console release for VF5:R in my opinion. Honestly I hope I'm wrong and it comes out sooner than later.

It took roughly 3 YEARS for any version of VF3 to hit consoles. (FM's VF characters had some VF3 moves but I don't think it should count)

I'm really more interested in gameplay changes. Really hope they've really taken it to the next level. VF5 is a great game, but with minor system tweeks it could be even better.

No it doesn't, it just says it's more than likely a update to VF5 BUT a bigger update than the usual minor revisions. Just like EVO then....

What's with everyone not being able to tell if it's male or female? Looks male to me( although I wouldn't put money on it, lol ).

I seriously think it's just the hairstyle, all the American folk accused Raiden from MGS2 of being a woman just cause of that hairstyle.

 

Definetly male...and If he keeps that evil red aura around him at all times, I'll have to play him! He looks bad-ass...but I'll let you all know...I actually liked Raiden(like him even more now as a ninja in high-heels)

Anyway the possible return of Taka and that glowing dude looks interesting. They're clearly going after Tekken 6 with this game, so we'll see how it works out. I can't wait for the footage.

Back on topic: I am really hyped to see a vid for this, the graphics look improved too.

(ps, I'm fine with that though, because i love the graphics in VF5 anyway, but saying they look improved is a stretch).

 

If this game is truly a spin off I want to see Siba back. The new character looks great but I'm getting a kind of "dark" vibe about VF5R. Seems to me the game is going to have a darker feel than 5.

 

What's the problem with talking about what may or may not be in the final release? We were doing it before this news came out so why not carry on? No one had a problem with it when we were all discussing what new characters we'd like to see in a "VF5 Evo". All we had back then was a Japanese website confirming a BAICHFAITA 5 version D and an Evo update. Now we know for definite that this game is coming, why not discuss what we would like to see and what we think will be announced next?

Just because Lion's stage now has the lights off doesn't mean that every stage is going to be dark. Just be happy with 2 characters, cross your fingers for Siba in VF6 Evo.

 

QFT. With discussion inevitably comes speculation - and what is wrong with that? We're all fans, and this is VFDC - where else is anyone gonna discuss where they hope VF5:R will go? Whats with people trying to kill the excitement by lecturing others on how to "correctly" respond to this news.
