Yeah, I really miss this stages too. Did they ever give a reason as to why they went back to the flat stages?

As for the R in the title, it could stand for Revolution or Re-Evolution. Seeing as it's VF5's version of Evo....

EDIT: That character still looks too much like Akira to me, his stance and clothes are practically identical apart from the boobtube, lulz. Maybe SEGA seen Konjous posts about a female Akira!

 

Or they wanted to make it look more like a tournament again. The uneven terrain looked a bit like they were just fights in random places... Anyway, I really hated these stages in Tekken 4 and I'm glad they're gone from VF. More focus on the actual fighting, and not wondering if your high will whiff just because a guy is standing lower than you on a slope...

It looks like everything I wanted. Taka is back, another new character - plus redone stages and almost definitely new music to go with them. One of the things that made Evo seem so different was the 're-coloured' stages and music and it looks like this will be the same.

I'm guessing that the other character is Taka - but that he just looks different now he's in VF5. Jeffry for example has gone through a radical change since VF3 but is still the same character (he used to be small, orange and have a cartoony fat face - but not at all like the Tango Man...).

Taka's return is one of the best bits of news ever. I was always one of his biggest fans and I sent loads of angry letters to Sega (which were no doubt torn up) about his removal from VF4. I hope his awesome voices are back also; "KONO BOKE!!!"[/size] (you idiot)

The wait for this game is gonna be ridiculous. We need a console version (downloadable for thousands of MS points or a new release in the shops)

We don't need innovation. All we want is more VF5 with more characters, more moves, different stages, more customisations, and an overall new feel (redone menus, character select, etc) and it looks as if it will certainly deliver the goods just as VF4 Evo did. And I can't wait. Besides, this is VF5 R - if you want new things like side-crumples and OMs - wait for VF6. I'm just incredibly happy that we are finally getting VF5 Evo update we have been discussing for months.

VF4 Evo never added stages for Goh and Brad - let's hope that Taka and this new guy get a brand new stage. A sumo ring would be nice.

I cant wait til this hits ps3 since we wont see an american usa release.. I hope it hits the 360 too so my cousin can continue playing vf5. I dont think vf5 sold as well worldwide on the 360 so maybe if sega really cares it will come out for both.. My VSHG will be back in action..
