Or, we could capture FrozenWorm and beat him with a stick for making him relive my traumatic experiences playing crappy fighters like MK.

Also Karate, lol /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif One char with Kyokushin, one with Shotokan /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Seriously though, Taka's gonna be the heavy/grappler one, Karate guy is probably (;)) gonna be the puncher/kicker, so the third one should be.... I dunno... Hapkido? Snake style? (first is a wish, second is 'cause a quick/poking char is my logical choice).

If I ever wanted a third fighter, it would probably be more of a defensive grappler. Someone that knows Krav Maga or Sambo, or my ultimate wet dream, a boxer who is big and fights for money like M.Bison from Steet Fighter. I swear, VF needs to concentrate on other styles of martial arts out of China.

Trust me, they have NOTHING on Marvel players, or the SNK scene.

New characters....

Kages Mothers, surprised it hasnt happened already, like in VF3 in all honesty (considering the cut scene on hard in VF2)

If I may would be nice to expand on different ideas for styles, i always wanted a Muay Thai guy and VF4 gave me that, I desired an alternative wrestler (being a wrestler myself) VF5s El Blazes Lucha Libre answered perfectly.

A Han style fighter - Traditional Chinese, style of Han Shu, composing the "Five Animals Play" - tiger, deer, monkey, bear, and bird. (think Jet li in Once upon in china,)and very similar to Wu-shu

Tae Kwon Do (Korean Fight style. cant think of any Tae Kwon Do oriented movies, but an obvisious understanding of it, would be Hworang and Baek Do San in Tekken) would make an effective long range style for VF,and would be great equal for the likes of Jacky.

Karate - surprised there isnt a karate fighter already in VF, to the untrained eye due to the Gi many assume Akira is a Karate fighter. hard hitting and fast striking. strong emphasis of stances and focus, though there is 4 main styles of Karate Shotokan, Shito-ryu, Goju-ryu, Wado-ryu. Shotokan being quite recognizable as used by Jean Claude Van Damme, but seemingly we may get one this time if that video has anything to do with it.

T'ai Chi Chuan - A soft style, practiced in parks the world over. slow movements and graceful an art applied with internal power. Lei Feng in the Dead or Alive series of fighters uses T'ai Chi Ch'uan and that dude in the park of Shenmue.

Pencak Silat is in interesting style french aristocrats used it back in the 1600s, i seem to remember someone in Eternal Champions on MD/MCD using it.

They are main ones I can think of that would increase the variety in Virtua Fighter. What kind of character would use them is a different matter.
I saw Caeporia mentioned i honestly dont think it would work to well in Virtua Fighter. still you never know. if changing stances quickly can work then flowing shouldnt be to hard, just got to make sure he doesnt become a "cheap" character as in how most people play eddie over in tekken.

Sumo coming back...it has a place definatly, Takas return! I didn't use him to much but another power grappler always good, saying that though Sumo wrestlers are faster than one might think...going to power up the dreamcast in a bit and give him a serious try.

3rd character? Not likely, since VF follows the tradition of two new per game. But it depends on whether they count Taka's return as a new character, which he is not.

In any case, I'll add my opinion. I think VF needs a rugged character with a bit of an undisciplined fighting style. Not just basic street fighting, something more disciplined than that but not as strict as some of the others. I just feel that this type of character could add more flavor to the overall game because Brad did bring A LOT of personality to the cast of characters.

Also, I like cross-overs. I like how KOF integrated FF, AOF, IW and others into their cast. I hoped Tekken would do the same for Urban Reign ut no luck so far. Do you think VF will add any Fighting Viper characters eventually or do you think they are too flashy? I don't know because I never played that game before.

Nah, I WASN'T wanting a Fighters Megamix-esque game. I was referring to crossing over one or two characters and expanding on them like Guy and Cody in SFAlpha.

Actually, hopefully a 3rd character is VF4 Vanessa =-)...

Yeah, seriously. I notice years ago that the majority of the martial art styles are Chinese. They should use others such as the ones you mention.
Karate is the first to be added to this remake, but sumo is not since Taka-Arashi is making a return to the series. Besides, where were you when the trailer was released? Also, I do not know appreciate your $h1++y claims of you performing the stun palm of doom. Perform that technique when your life is on the line.

The Karate chick (it's a girl, look at the boobs) reminds me that assassin girl from DOA series with some of Goh's traits. Probably another assassin from J6 (lolVFstory).
And I wouldn't read too much into the punching scene between Karate chick and Jacky, I don't think they are introducing a parry system or anything of the sort, that was probably just demonstration.

It's a pity they haven't given us a release date or announced it for home consoles (though I'm sure it'll come out for PS3 and 360 eventually).
When is the next big gaming event? SEGA could release more info then.
