Virtua Fighter 5 R!

The question that I have for everyone now is, how long can you wait for the game. I can wait till July of next year.

In truth I want them to put alot more than the usual trimmings into the game. I'm greedy maybe all the post effort things like Team Battle from VF3, super deep Tutorial in Training Mode VF4 EVO, Challenge Mode and Different Character Movesets from Final Tuned, Knockout Trial 3, Bingo, Online Tournament Set Up Arcade VF5, every costume and item ever, and anything else that I might have forgot to mention.

That's why I say give it time so they can work on making a Triple A title. If we want them to rush it then we can have a great game but not a spectacular game.

It's crazy how the're listening to the fans. We begged for Taka + 2 and we're all ready two thirds of the way there. The demo is early so maybe there is another character who knows right know its speculative and the only thing we know now is we have a karateka person and Taka returning. Keep begging who knows maybe we'll get another fighter.

On a side note if they need a costume set for Taka I say the do the farmer in overalls look.

That said, you need to shut the fuck up with the Taka hate. Taka coming back is tremendously exciting for many of us and it simply isn't cool for you to show up and piss on our party right when we start to get all lathered up, you asshole. Your just fuckin stupid. Plain and simple. It don't matter what he is the more the merrier. I hope Sega caters to the Taka Fanbase cause even though i don't use him he was still a Cool character. Matter of fact he's the only VF fighter character to have a speaking part in a Commercial. During one of Sega 2K Basketball spots he teaches Allen Iverson how to strengthen up his box out to grab a rebound. Think about it in retrospect yeah i welcome Taka with open arms.

SEGA puts Taka back just due to one reason - they want make more money in Arcades (and maybe on consoles) - I think that Japanese players also waned Taka back, so here we go. Putting 2 completely new characters might have been little too less for that.
I'm happy to see sumo in VF. I was playing only VF2 and back to VF since VFIVevo (ex Tekken player) - I just hope that Taka will have some serious command list and that his weight will not break really great balance of VF5.

One of the reasons why I kinda love the Dead or Alive character designs are the very 'straight-forward' way they depict their males and females... Eliot is still definitely manly due to his lack of boobage and even though the seiyuu is a woman, he sounds like an adolescent just coming of age at least...

This new char with the gi I'm hoping [Please God] is a dude. The facial features are too rugged and 'square' and tough for a woman and the lack of chest kinda helps my argument... (one of the best reasons to have a fetish for big jiggly boobs is a 99.9% guarantee that what you're oggling is a woman, unless uh, yeah... Eileen is jailbait so that also helps in keeping yourself legally sexing...)

I practice karate with some mixed grappling arts and the way that dude was blocking looks squarely like Gedan Barai Uki and Chudan Uke. (Low Sweeping and Middle Blocks in Karate instructor Japanese)

That'd be good. Karate technically is taking all the flashy 'useless' moves and difficult to execute moves from most of the Chinese martial arts and dumbs them down to their cores... Brutal straight force with no flash... just BAM, you're gone. Ein and Hitomi from DoA represented Karate very well and for VF series to NEVER have a karate user till now is very disappointing for a Karate teacher like me /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Erm... ok, when I read Hoodwink on vfdc all I see is:

It just seems stupid to me. A vfdc poster only has a few topic he can post about that doesn't make him look ridiculous. I understand that bitching is more than just talking shit about the game but none of it translates well into a vfdc post.

As it happens I think Srider is kinda stupid too but at least the guy can post about cool strategies here and there. Besides, he's already in the game. If I had a choice between Srider or a real vfdc Mod, guess which one I would choose.

OH YES!!!!! THIS IS GONNA FUCKING ROCK !!!!!!!!!! You know this is coming to PS3 (UNless M$oft steps in with yet another $150 million bribe for an exclusive ). All that petitioning for a PS3 online patch will finally pay off. I say put this out on PS3 greatest hits WITH ONLINE PLAY. Then FINALLY I will be able to use my VSHG for something besides Tekken 5 DR. WOOT.

Its interesting to note that takaarashi's ring in VF3 was circular. For consoles at least, they should make uneven leveled stages unlockable. FOR consoles I mean because to reason uneven stages were taken out IN THE FIRST PLACE is because it fucks up the outcome of comptetive matches. Thats THE SAME reason online play was left out of VF5 PS3. SO if they include one, they should include the other.

That said this upgrade looks great, and seems like a homage to VF3, like the half open half closed rings. NO need to flame the naysayers, If they arent excited about this game they need to check their pulse. "INNOVATION" and VIRTUA FIGHTER go hand in hand. VF1 was the first real time 3d fighting game an VF3 was the first to break 1MILLION polygons per second.

 

^^^You have to realise innovation is not lightning in a bottle and SEGA cant pull it out EVERY SIX MONTHS when they do an UGRADE TO AN OVER A YEAR OLD GAME. I mean seriously you'd realise that unless you're a completely dense knob. Common sense would tell you if SEGA was going to reinvent VF they would do it in VF6 .

My 2 cents on this whole thread:

1 - I couldn't care less about new characters and revised stages and more costumes and whatever if this new game is not gonna fix some of the rather obvious problems VF5 has (funny hitboxes on wake-up attacks and down attacks plus all the other things the experienced users of this forum have found out).

2 - I can't see tha fascination with a sumo fighter either (and not even with Jeffry, or old-ass Lau or freaking El Blaze or Lion for crying out loud) but yeah, I can SIMPlY not play him, people have a right to be happy a guy they are interested in will be back.

3 - Getting exclusives on games is not bribing. It is perfectly legal. Sony has been doing that for ages so it is the taste of their own medicine at the very least. It's just how the market works. Yeah, they don't care about the ideals and creeds of customers, they are only in it for the money, sorry to spoil it for you. MS simply pays to the developer/publisher the profits they think the game might ripe if sold on another console too. For developers/publishers it means less work for the same money. It's what ANY company would do.

 

No bribes or "MONEYHATS" are not illegal, but Gates has already been prosecuted in court over unfair business practices . Guess he didn't learn anything and needs a second trip. Most recently M$oft paid TECMO $100 million to publish and keep Ninja Gaiden 2 for 360. M$oft paid paramount $150 million to keep TRANSFORMERS exclusive M$oft 's HD-DVD format. And now Warner bros and Wal-Mart have dropped HD-DVD format ENTIRELY. Man, I love karma. If M$oft spent HALF the money they do on BRIBES AND BACKSTABBING DEALS on R&D, VISTA wouldn't be such a bug infested coaster and landfills would not be flooded with crashed 360's . On the bright side if not for M$ofts covetting PS3's library with moneyhats, we wouldn't be playing VF5 Online now.

If people aren't exciteded about Taka coming back that's fine, neither am I, really. But I'm glad he is taking up a character slot in an upgrade, rather than a true sequel.

 

You obviously don't realise how much effort it would take to include uneven stages.

A) If they want uneven stages back (I do), then that would have to wait for Virtua Fighter 6 and not this add-on to VF5.

and B) If they were to put them back, they wouldn't waste all the hard work on having them just as a console unlockable.

Sega are the best at balancing a fighting game and they would never be silly enough to 'break the game'. If Taka is unable to be juggled then Sega would give him other weaknesses - such as no /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif pounce, slow movement, throws hurt him more, bounce combos are easier, etc etc.

What ever advantages Taka-Arashi may have, he'll have as many weaknesses to compensate.

Just remember - This isn't Tekken.

2 other characters to learn!? I wish AM2 would stop with this shit. Now I have to buy another cabinet for this damn 'upgrade'. I do enough upgrading on my PC and woman already, I don't need more 'upgrades' to deal with.

Now people are all gonna go ape shit over new moves and new gameplay, what's next, new VF terminologies to learn? Fuck this, AM2 needs to stop. HD-DVD is dead already, so what's the point? Wii's control scheme doesn't work with VF, so don't even bother AM2, cause I'm not gonna pay $15 to download extra content. Cause seriously, the lag is terrible. Why should I pay $15 just so I have to pull my hair out dealing with 2P spammers?

Anyways, AM2 should add more chicks in the game. Why stop with Lion and El Blaze? If you don't believe that El Blaze is a chick, just look at his legs, it curves to the inside. If only they will add more chicks, I would play it cause my gf doesn't like games that's all guys. I'm glad they are adding Taka, that's who she said she will use.

Anyways, I already preordered this at gamestop. So I'll see you guys online.
