I was at the AM Show when they announced the new features. The reception couldn't be more dead unless someone actually died.

Would waning interest in the arcade be a reason for sega to attempt to squeeze as much money as they can out of the game with a console release?

I don't even know why i ask. Not gonna happen anyway [IMG]

SEGA should sell AM2 and the rights to VF to NAMCO. NAMCO cares more about VF than SEGA themselves.

SEGA said that there were no plans for a console port. Why are some guys still waiting for an answer if SEGA had already given one?

Sega also said VF would never have online play, and look what happened about two years ago.

    Never say never.

Will know in a week after tgs if they have been hearing us. I think the phrase that they use is: At this time we have no plans of porting vf5r. I would also like to see more mature themed games come out of japan like finish the Shenmue series, give us the missing Yakuza games and so on and so forth. Enough of this kiddie crap and exercise games.

It won't work without a connection to VF.Net. I'm sure there are VF4 FT machines around. I played on them when I was in the Philippines in SM San Lazaro and SM Manila/Mega Mall. Sana nandun pa sila. They're very hard to find though.

Even if there is one the SSFIV announcement is going to overshadow it.

Until press give out their best of show awards after and they all hop on the VF5R bandwagon saying how much better it is than SF.

Similar angle and expectations to recent E3 stuffs (KOF applauded as a great fighting engine beating T6 in most cases with sites awarding best fighter to KOFXII) and so forth, could work in SEGA's favour to jump on the back of SSFIV.
