I would like to see the following moves return:

      DS reversals
      DS 43P+K low punch cut

      OS low throws

I woud like for the following moves to have their VF5 vanilla properties restored:

DS 1P sabaki vs SW and auto-gaurd vs special mids
DS 66P tracking to Vanessa's stomach
DS 6K CH hit-throw guaranteed damage
DS hand hold working vs MP

OS 46K Intruder Step CANCEL and stagger
      OS 43P+K ducking under highs

As long as it's NOT DM P+K. God, we don't need that grief back in the game.

That is true. However, 60 damage is still good enough to be a threat.

I have been in the training mode for hundreds of hours. I am fully aware of the nuances of different weight classes and the like. I know that El Blaze is one of the lightest characters on the roster, but his small hurtbox means that many staple combos will miss against him. I know which combos will work against which characters. I also think that these changes are not strictly necessary. I am just sharing my thoughts for possible changes.

Additionally, my last two suggestions were buffs, not nerfs. The two buffs I suggested were to make the characters feel more interesting. The risk/reward of Sarah's [6][P][K] is currently not in her favor, and my suggestion was to balance it out by giving the second hit more reward on counter hit, as it is -18 on block and not a true mid. If the opponent blocks both hits, they get a full combo (Kage and Lion excluded). On the other hand, if they block the first hit, but try to strike back against the second hit, Sarah gets a full combo. That is currently not the case, and I feel that this change will make the character more interesting.

As for Kage, I clearly explained that his poor punishment forces him to throw the opponent for his combos. Having launching throws for both directions will make Kage's mix-ups much more threatening. This is in a game where mix-ups are the core state of gameplay.

You have every right to challenge my thought process, but you fail to do so in the form of a proper discussion. You just immediately dismiss me as a scrub, and refuse to actually hear me out.

I'd really like movement to be more like it was with the ability to cancel backward crouch dashes restored and not having counter hits on every movement that isn't forward. I always really liked watching the Korean Step and Minami Step in older VFs and advanced movement is something that appeals to me in Tekken too. There pretty much the only fighters that have that sort of thing but FS took it away and Tekken 8 nerfed it's back dash a bit.

I wonder if this game is just balance changes or will there be system changes too like VF5R and FS did? That would be a lot more interesting.

The same thing applies to other throws. Kage will rarely be landing his 10 foot toss in high level matches for the same reason. This also applies to other throws like Wolf's burning hammer. The only character that does not suffer from this issue is Taka Arashi because both of his most damaging throws do equal damage for the most part.

Not really. Pai, Lau, Sarah, Lei Fei, Brad, Eileen, and Jean all have less threatening throw mix-ups than Jacky because they only have one throw that even does 60 damage. So if Jacky's mix-ups are actually poor than everyone else's, then why does 37% of the cast have less damaging throws than him?

I do agree that Jacky's highest damage comes from punishing mistakes, but his damage from strings are still good, especially relative to how safe many of them are. This is most apparent at the wall because his [6][6][K] is a safe, wall splatting mid that synergizes very well with his throws.

@Myke What about creating a Wish list from VFDC and send it to SEGA from our community? Now intill the release we still have a chance to appeal devs attention to some things:
      - Save replay with frame data analysis tools
      - Battle pass
      etc

Speaking of sending a list to sega, could we add subtitles, so we can understand what a character is saying if we don't understand their language. I can tell sega notices us, because they added a badge that mentions this site in the game.

...I played Vanilla and liked it for the most part...and when FS came out, I liked it more than Vanilla. I never played R, and most likely will not unless it gets release as a collection.

This site is not as active as it used to be, but I will say I have more people to play against in VF5US than I did with VF5FS 10 years ago and vanilla VF5 on 360 . It does require some organization, but for the last 3 years I have fairly constant competition. Some people leave, some new people come in to replace then, and some people return, as expected with any community. It is not as drastic as you make it seem, imo.

Maybe New York not as active anymore compared to the heydays, but other regions in United States have been staying active offline. Each person will have their own "local" experience though!

But I agree, having the latest game on multiple platforms with crossplay will help the community overall. I think Aoki has considered this...was he or SEGA able to accomplished it...we will see. But If we don't have cross-play, I don't think it is from lack of trying.

Here is hope for better things to come.

I hear you and see where you coming from. But I didn’t call you a scrub. I just said you have to learn the nuances. Me calling or assuming you a scrub is counter productive to this site and trying to keep the legacy alive. Jacky has holes in his game. He seems scary if you keep trying to attack out of order. His strings are interruptible except for the Dragon Lance. That’s the most scariest of them all. You just need the reps against good players.

On technical PC side of things I hope the Steam port has AMD FSR2, Nvidia DLSS and Intel XeSS upscaling support like some of the newer Yakuza game support, is Steam Deck compatibility and has true fullscreen support and not just borderless window mode because my laptop (Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB) adds like 2 to 4 more frames lag if the games resolution doesn’t match the laptops native display resolution (2560x1440p60hz) in borderless window mode due to the present flip mode but not if it’s in true fullscreen mode and I want to be able bring my laptop to local sessions to play VF5:R.E.V.O. on it.

I do agree that each individual move that Jacky has can be countered reliably. However, I think that Jacky's flaws are less detrimental to his position on the tier list than they are for any other character (except maybe Akira). It makes Jacky an absolute powerhouse of a character, and it is exceptionally easy to start playing with him. I do admire his high skill ceiling though.

Realistically, I would main Jacky and Sarah in tournaments and online matches if I engaged in such, so I would benefit from Jacky being this good. I still think that his damage from basic strikes and throws should be nerfed to encourage Jacky players to commit to punishment for their damage. That's why I did not say any nerfs to his slide shuffle stance or combo damage.

Nonetheless, Jacky is not a flawless character overall, but a Jacky and an Eileen of equal skill level would almost certainly result in a win for Jacky.

You’re talking to a Jacky player :)His damage is ok unless you know how to do the “iageri kick”. With out that.. He doesn’t hit as hard as you think. Jacky only seems A+ to S depending on whose hands he is in. In terms of punishment Brad, Goh, Lau and Akira hit way harder in 14f. Jacky strength lies in his ability to draw counter hits.

I was more so talking about Jacky's whiff punishment. He can get huge damage from his slide shuffle stance, and sidestepping the right move can lead to a 90 damage combo. His block punishment is definitely not on par with the characters you mentioned.

      Yes.
Whiff punishment still counts as counter. Like I said before. To hit that 90.. you need iageri. Especially light weight.
