Can I dream with a Fighters Megamix mod using Fighting Vipers 2 models ?

I REALLY hope that's not the case. I'm assuming this is another "test the waters" for a potential VF6...like they've done for what it feels like the 3rd time already.

Although I do wished they saved this type of news for a VF6. We should be very cautious of what Sega is planning because, once again they aren't quite being direct with things and or mix messaging..

Is this what they meant as "working on a new Virtua Fighter"? or are we getting....a new Virtua Fighter? that is the question. And I'm leaning more towards the latter, in fact, praying to GOD it's leaning towards the latter.

It's funny how they casually said that in an interview yet this pops out soon after. Oh boy Sega please, I'm feeling kinda nervous already...

But yay rollback net code, steam & mod costumizations for VF5! not so bad of a deal...Just wished that if you are truly making a VF6 just save this type news for the new one..

Great news and all but I'm still expecting a new Virtua Fighter with just as much treatment and care as they show for VF5..

What in the hell? FS is literally better VF5 R. You would get tired of that too I guarantee it.

Seems to me we're getting a Final Tuned of VF5 FS. I'm cool with that.

How is it better? From what I can see of the VF5R system it's an improved version of VF5 vanilla which I already liked more than FS. All the core Japanese players I asked prior to FS coming out on console like R better. I remember Chief Gutti saying something similar years ago too. Homestay Akira also said VF5R was his 2nd favourite VF after VF4Evo.

I'm actually shocked by that. FS was a big shift for the franchise for sure, many people back in the day detested the new throw system compared to MTE. Homestay Akira thinking R was his second favorite is wild too. But opinions are opinions.

I actually got the chance to play it, but obviously from a different perspective. Instead of feeling like an evolved VF5 Vanilla it feels more like a wack Final Showdown. I think FS is just much more laser-focused in what it wants to be and it works pretty well IMO. Nothing rlly beats Final Tuned as my favorite VF, but FS gets closer than R did for the few hours I played it.

This is the song that’s played at the end of FS/US if you beat it without losing a match in under 10 minutes, but in English.

Glad to have this as a VF fan, but ready for a new entry. No mention of cross play is bummer, but I’m looking forward to more info.

      Wack Final Showdown!?

you played it for a few hours..The real question is… DO YOU KNOW HOW TO PLAY IT? All due respect. R Ver. C is better than FS.

I just want to remind everyone of the "leak" by Midori. I'm guessing if true, this applies to VF6? I'm referring to the mentioning of a story mode or something

I wonder what they will do with balance adjustments. Here is what I would like to see:
      1. A complete removal of the weight class system. This is likely not going to happen, but I would rather the characters had differing health values because weight classes force a player to essentially learn different combos for every single character.
      2. A slight rework for Taka Arashi. I think that Taka Arashi is the only character that should retain his unique weight class, but I think that his weight also butchers the utility of some characters' moves. I would like this to be refined with the balance adjustment.
      3. Nerf Jacky. Jacky is one of my favorite characters on every level, but even I can't deny that Jacky is a little too strong. He has no immediately apparent weakness, and his strengths are through the roof. I think that Jacky should be given less reward for basic mix-ups, which would force him to slowly condition opponents to get his damage.
      4. Barely touch Sarah. Sarah is one of the most balanced characters on the roster due to her nature as a double edged sword. I would only buff Sarah's [6][P][K] to make the second hit crumple on counter hit. This would make it a high risk, high reward option that would let Sarah players express themselves far more.
      5. Give Kage back his backwards ten foot toss, but let him keep his forwards one as well. One of Kage's biggest weaknesses is his lack of substantial damage from his mids and punishment. This forces Kage players to throw the opponent for their damage, but since Kage's most deadly throw requires a forward break input, it makes him incredibly predictable. Giving him a launching throw for the backwards and forwards directions will make opponents need to watch out for any throw as opposed to exclusively forward throws.
This is what I would like most from the balance adjustments. Do you agree or disagree with any of these? Feel free to share your thoughts.

learn how to play the game and none of this would be a issue. Everything you asking for is a shortcut to stop you from losing frequently.

Chill! I don't even play online matches because the netcode is trash, and there is no one in my area to play VF with me offline. VF will be rebalanced with VF5 R.E.V.O. and I am offering my personal opinion on what I want from the balance adjustments. You can disagree if you want, but please keep it respectful.

Throw clash and infinites are not going to convince people it's better than FS. I'd still play the game, but if that game came out to more people and they learned more, you'd be seeing more people than not, favor FS based on the aforementioned factors, even if they had complaints about FS's damage.

      You really think so? Hmmmmm.

Well I might not get an opportunity to play R much, but Ver. C did just get dumped. I guess taking another look at it is in order instead of basically the only version I could play which was initial June 2008 release. The location test one :p. It's not like R wasn't fun, but from what I played it felt like Final Showdown did better what R was trying to do.

You know, I hope this gets released on the Xbox-Store (at a later time)
So we can have cross-play with the Microsoft gamers.
I remember playing with a Jackie player named "Jerky" back in the Xbox-360 days.
Really fun matches and slowly improved over time.

Sigh.... idc whether it surpasses VF5 or not. A new game is long overdue. Something different in VF that's a risk to take while still feeling like VF.

It's time to move on. VF needs a future and it's not 5. You can play 5 until the disk drive breaks, it won't reinvigorate the series

Jacky isn't an issue. Jacky's weakness is that his mix ups are poor. All of the moves that beat standing guard are slow or very specific. Like SS 2KK or K+GK.

In exchange he has very high dmg. He's always had high dmg infact.

Throws beat standing guard for every character, and Jacky's throw damage is by no means lacking. He has two 60 damage throws in [6][P][+][G] and [4][P][+][G], and the former deals even more damage at the wall due to a guaranteed somersault kick.

Has nothing to do with either. You know how many players dropped VF when FS came out? No one wanted to play a dumbed down version of a great series. I lived it… the changes. The universal changes excuse me. The removal of moves to simplify combat. Watching The 2 Larger characters (Wolf & Jeff) who actually became S-Tier in R lose new moves before the the American fans got to use them. In FS the essence of VF was stripped.

There is a reason why your first instinct should be to input forward TE if your back is to a wall versus him.
