Yea, I do agree that too many characters have similar looking moves now.

 

I was kind of worried about this...they should've adjusted the height of the arms and stuff when tall character meets small character : /

At around the 56 second point in that clip, I noticed something (new)?

After Lion connects with + throw, he puts himself off-axis with ++, then backdashes to bait the rising kick. Kage falls for the bait and whiffs his mid rising kick, then lion punishes him with from the side. This causes a side crumble. The Lion player doesn't follow up, but I assume + or will work there.

Does this mean that the new side stun works with minor counter moves (other than evade PKG, P/K) as well as a major counter as long as it's from the side?

Dre; that's kinda similar to what I said on the lion vs lion movie about 3 pages back. Now this makes for some interesting stuff imo;

I believe that certain moves, those without knockdown properties (lion lions midkick might be more specifics to it then that), will cause a sidestagger if you have evaded something "big" and counter in mC with it guaranteed. Now that makes the big question; why should you use OM which doesn't have this mC property most likely over a regular evade>attack if you see a big move coming? Most probably you shouldn't - unless it's a string that tracks your evade, you think you can get the back etc. If a SDE evade>sidekick guarantees a yoho sideways combo it's time to redifine how to play VF a lot. Maybe this is a compensation for abare players now that moralists seem to be getting the better of it? Anyways; most probably there will be a need to make really custom made sidehit combos in these situations (which will be fun to find), in the earlier lion vs lion clip the lion simply did p+k after.

Lots of stuff still seems new to the JP players as well; this is one of them. There hasn't been anyone taking full use of the new wallstagger either. Good to see Kage's trying to whore 4k+g atleast so we know things are in order lol.

I was hoping they'd at least change the animation slightly for this kind of instance.

I heard him grunt while retracting his leg. It's hard to tell because Sarah evades, and since you get a successful evade on regular cancels we can't tell if she would have defended it. It looks as though it were late enough for Iai though. Good eyes lol, I missed this - RAINMAN.

Yeah there was a movie some time ago which showed it. I assumed he could KG cancel in FT played it last week to find out he couldn't. I think i saw a PKG as well with jacky in that clip but i can't remember for the life which one it was..
