Well, inputs are only the beginning, the real game is played w ith your knowledge and wits.

I still don't see how people can do a perfect giant swing or a double palm on a stick yet it happens.

Sure, but In my opinion, with a pad, the inputs are a bigger hurdle than everything else in the game.
I canĀ“t fokus on my opponent playstyle if my inputs give me too much trouble.

However, I was just wondering that you play with a pad.

Not as knowledgeable as most of the others guys, but here goes. It looks like Sega has added a new wrinkle to the fighting mechanics and for lack of a better term or maybe someone has already posted it, CQF or Close Quarter Fighting. HaHa, it looks wickedly good; I love this game and I hope we get it....

We think that might be his new Pak Sao animation.

Exciting news. Sega is almost certainly working on this version for home console release later this year. Fighters have made a resurgence and it's time for the original 3D fighter to return.

As for the trailer, exciting hints at some new systems. Less float mechanics? Hard to say, but interesting that people have theorised that. There does seem to be a bit more you can do to parry/hold attacks and then respond.

Particularly Wolf vs Akira, are they introducing some form of counter system or advancing an existing one? Wolf only had a kick counter before, so this is different.

I don't know where people get that no float nonsense from.

It will probably be from Taka but he needed something to counter balance all those P strings rocking him.

We'll have to wait until we see gameplay but I'm pretty sure floats will still be around.

Agree, I don't think floats/juggles are removed, but they seem to be hinting in the trailer at some more on-ground mechanics with characters exchanging blows without evade/block, or are they simple new moves that counter attacks?

Why do you think that. Without using Taka as an example.

There has been some speculation, so fuck it, I decided to chip in and analyze the trailer. I have no clue where Berzerk got the idea that FS is confirmed for consoles though. No proof = not true.
    Anyway:

Jean in a new(?) costume - definitely less manly
Lion in a new(?) costume - definitely gay
Lei Fei in a new(?) costume and also Pai.
On closer look there are some details of already existing costumes, so I'm guessing it's to show off some more customization options...?
(I would like to have costumes Main, and Alternative and be able to customize them with all possible items... so existsing ABCDE costumes would be reduced to items. This is just an idea though, nothing more)

    0:08 Pai vs Akira

Pai clearly does [P] which is guarded, followed by OM to Akira's side.
She does what looks like VF5R's <span style="text-decoration: line-through">([6][P]+[K][P]) </span> [6][4][P][P] but apparently cancels the second hit and goes for a throw. (it's definitely a command, front throw, as you can see Akira reposition himself with the guard).
The throw gives advantage I presume, so Pai goes for a slightly reanimated [3][P][2] ending in Bokutai.

From there, a clearly normal hit (white flash, might be the art-ish thing) of Bokutai [P]+[K] occurs leading into jaw/chin crumble (just like Goh's [6][K] on CH) (right now the move launches)

That crumble in VF5 allows for guaranteed quick mid but also, like stomach crumble, for a low throw, which apparently Pai does.

    0:15 Jacky vs Sarah

There has already been a lot of speculation about that, and yes, for me it seems like Jacky's Pak Sao animation is changed. Whether it's the only possible option remains of course unknown.

After that Sarah tries to regain advantage by using [P], Jacky does a low [P]-based low hitting move.
It might be a reanimated [1][P], but that would mean that it now makes Jacky back up a bit after hitting (ridiculous) or has the ability to got into short back shuffle. It might also be a new move. Either way, after the shuffle:
Sarah counters with [2][P] which misses, and Jacky does one of two things:
a)either a reanimated [6][P]+[K][P] with a new effect on hit
    OR
b)a new move from that short back shuffle we've seen

That Jacky's move might be a natural combo. Why? It doesn't stagger on crouch (the initial animation for Sarah is as if she was hit by a normal mid move... watch the trailer in slowmo), the flash is white, so it didn't hit on CH, and I doubt she'd be in recovery after [2][P]. Anyway, the move produces an effect similar to how Taka stumbles when being "knocked down" in VF5R. Nevertheless it's still possible to combo with [9][K]+[G] which Jacky of course does.

Jacky, Aoi, Lau, Jeff, Kage, Brad, Blaze, Eileen, Taka, all shown with some neat items/costumes on.

    0:29 Jacky vs Taka

Jacky does [P][P][6][P][K] which Reno confirmed to be guaranteed on Taka (on CH, right Reno? 'Cause Taka seems to be in recovery after having his [3][P]+[K] blocked, not sure though).
It is weird that Taka doesn't fall down, and upon closer look seems to have a bit of advatage(!). It's not confirmed though, so please, don't treat it as a fact. That also doesn't mean there are no juggles in the game, so I wouldn't got that far in the speculation.
After Jacky's combination, Taka replies with [4][1][2][3][6][P]+[G]

    0:34 Wolf vs Akira
Wolf does [6][P][P]+[K]. The move should knock down but instead turns the opponent around. Why it doesn't remains a mystery...
Wolf continues the "pressure" with [6][K] which is blocked by Akira. Akira attacks with [3][P] (new in 5R) which is blocked/deflected with Wolf's RAW.
Wolf's hand can be seen reaching for Akira's head, meaning this is IMO 100% a new animation for successful RAW into [P]+[G]. The new hold is therefore IMO the new Catch animation.
From there, the throw's animation is new and the input is unknown. I'd say it's either [6] or [3] (wouldn't like to miss the push, which is currently [3] [IMG] )

Wolf, Vanessa, Shun, Sarah and Goh are shown in some... interesting costumes. Goh attacks the ground again... silly Goh (I'd guess it's a winpose :D)

    0:46 Goh vs Blaze

Goh does [6][K], which hits on CH, producin a chin crumble.
He follows up with what appears to be a new animation for [2][P]+[K]+[G] as he goes into Tsukami... not before he smashes Blaze's face with a knee. might be that the throw does some initial damage then.
From Tsukami he does [6][6][P]+[G] which also has a new, more brutal animation.

    0:53 Akira vs Pai

Akira does [6][6][P]+[K] ... apparently leading into a hit throw (Feck! You'd shit bricks with that move in your arsenal [IMG] ).
The hit throw has two phases apparently, and who knows, maybe it requires some SPoD like input.
After that Akira does [6][P]+[K] (new in 5R, a double handed mid) which produces a stun (just like an animation of a character crumbling onto the ground after being killed, so right now it's a post KO animation...weird).
After that Akira hits with a bounding mid punch, followed but a two hit string that smashes Pai into the ground.

aaaand of course Akira is shown in a costume too...

    The End.

I don't like to speculate simply beacuse some people tend to exaggerate and see things that don't exist... BUT --> It is known that developers tend to put in clues into trailers, not just make trailers look cool.
If I was to deduce something out of it... I'd actually say that it IS possible the game is meant (or at least certain moves) to keep it more "on the ground".
It's a very far-fetched thing although some things are unclear and might indicate that:
    1) Taka doesn't fall down after Jacky's [P][P][6][P][K]
    2) Sarah only stumbles backwards a bit after the two-hit move from Jacky (still a combo is possible)
    3) Pai's quick Bokutai launcher now produces a stun
    4) Akira's combo is quite long, yet he doesn't really "launch" Pai
    5) Wolf's [6][P][P]+[K] doesn't knock down, only turns around

    Here's why I think it's far fetched:
    1) It's only a trailer [IMG]
    2) Akira still uses a bound move and combos after a stun (although I feel a lack of bounce in the trailer, don't know if it's good or bad yet though :D)
<span style="text-decoration: line-through">3) Other than that only Jacky's combinations didn't knock down when they should or as they should...
Maybe it's Jacky being changed, huh? How do you like THAT idea?
    </span>
after being corrected by Seidon and thus realising Wolf's move doesn't knock down... I'm actually begining to belive all this "on the ground" theory [IMG]

And the things I think are very probable or I am almost sure of:
    1) There are new stun animations
    2) There are new items and costumes
    3) There aren't any new characters

    Pai:
    1) has a new or reanimated throw that leaves the opponent standing but gives advantage instead
    2) has a new low throw or her low throw is reanimated
    3) can cancel the second hit of [6][P]+[K][P]
    4) [3][P] into Bokutai reanimated
    5) Bokutai [P]+[K] gives cr.s. on NH

    Jacky:
    1) has a new Pak Sao animation
    2) has a new low punch move with backshuffle option OR his [1][P] is completely different [IMG]
    3) is still annoying and causes confusion and frustration even on trailers, leaving too much for speculation and too little for certainty
    4) doesn't knock Taka down with [P][P][6][P][K]

    Wolf:
    1) [6][P][P]+[K] is still in the game and has the same animation but doesn't knock down, it turns the opponent around [IMG]
    2) has a new Catch animation
    3) has a new Catch throw OR a Catch throw has a new animation

    Goh:
    1) has a new animation for [2][P]+[K]+[G] which seems to deal a bit of damage before going into Tsukami
    2) Tsukami [6][6][P]+[G] is reanimated
    3) has a gey shirt item

    Akira:
    1) [6][6][P]+[K] can lead into a hit throw on NH(?) which seems to consist of two followups (SpoD-like?)
    2) [6][P]+[K] has a new stun effect (slightly different than in 5R)
    3) has a new mid punch move that "bounds" on hit in stun/air(?)
    4) has a 2-hit string (high, mid apparently), the second hit slams in air

    The End... seriously

Griever, Wolf does 6P P+K not his hit-grab.

The Pai move with a cancel is (with 99% certainty) [6][4][P][P] (high, mid, first move is 13 frames), a new move she got in R. That she can cancel the second punch is new for FS though.

The Jacky low punch (this pretty much has to be a reanimated [1][P] that probably doesn't track anymore judging by the animation ) most certainly goes into Shuffle Step and I'd bet money on that the new move from shuffle step is [P][P] which would replace the old [P]

Yeah, I know what you're talking about, but HERE it shows it's [6][P]+[K]. I admit I might be wrong with that move. However the initial animation (for the first punch, looks just like the move I mentioned). Too bad there's no [6][4][P][P] on that sit. Do you have a link to a match with that move?

That might be so, that would actually be cool [IMG]

That is indeed true, I'll edit my post right away, thanks!

Wolf doesn't do HCB+P+K, he did f+P, P+K, which usually knocks down on hit but now it doesn't apparently.

I compared the animation and it seems you are right. It's apparently the 5R Pai's [6][4][P][P]. Thank You [IMG]

I'd hate to add to stupid speculation, but maybe it is a possibility that the different kinds of counter hits (leading to different results on hit) from FT may be seeing a return?
