Peole always say that I never keep my hopes up, but today, I have the first chance in ages to be uterly righteously pecimistic without fear : THIS WILL SPROUT AN ALL NEW AND ABSOLUTE DISAPPOINTEMENT : NO ONE WILL PLAY THIS GAME AT HOME !!!!!!!

Just kidding. I sincerely hope that this game will hit our shelves (even japanese shelves would do, I'll just import it, VF games are priceless anyways).

like so many out there, I'm hoping that this game is the reason why R was never ported to consoles.

If they send us R now, I swear that I'll shove'em my huge cow's super king kong in the ass.

Still, I'm afraid that sega may know that no one likes good games nowadays.

Thats a woman and the scene is from an old underrated movie called Freaks.

Why can't he be in the game too! :((((((

No. It's a man, named Schlitzie (Simon Metz). He wore dresses/mumus (and played a girl in Freaks) often on his stage show because it costed less time to clean him post dump.

He's a personal hero of mine and I rotate avatars with him usually being one.

There's no way to see this as anything but a positive. I'm sure Final Showdown was in the works before interest was even gauged for a console version of VF5R, so you can basically view the petition as a barometer for FS, not R.

For Sega to ask for public opinion on a potential R console release knowing full well they were going to release a separate upgrade and not give them that instead would be the height of stupidity.

    P.S.: Freaks rules!

Hopefully this is the version that comes home. I believe it is because SEGA might be trying to not make the same mistake they did with VF4FT. Maybe they're waiting for the absolute final version in order to have all the upgrades and all the gameplay switches that will keep us satisfied until VF6

Holy freaking heck... My hype just went through the roof (Again)! Those new animations are incredible! The transition from hit to hit is just... beautiful. [IMG]

And damn, it's awesome that Goh was one of the featured characters. Judging from that knee to El Blaze's face after the [6][K], it looks like Goh's [2] [P][+][K][+][G] to Tsukami could actually deal some damage now regardless if the throw is successful. Man, I've been waiting for AM2 to update Tsukami. The movement actually looks, aggressive now. I wonder how many of the throws they changed aside from [6], [6] [P][+][G] ?? [IMG] Also, that's not a "new costume" for Goh, AM2. It's just a new shirt! Still cool either way.

That fight at the end with Akira and Pai though... does that mean less "Float" combos and more "realism"? I can't wait to see more of this! Go AM2!

Sega is just sadistic; do you think they are having a good laugh at us jumping through hoops to get this game. Each fuckin' version that comes out makes me want the game that much more.

Even if they don't want to release the game world wide give a fool the option of importing DL'ing or something... I just want the game and it looks like this version will get my juices pumping that much more.

First I want to start by saying AGAIN FUCK SEGA!!!!!! And back to you. So just because I recently joined this site I can’t possibly know what I’m talking about. For the record I have been playing VF for since VF3 on the Dreamcast. No that does not make me a vet in the game or anything but it does entitle me to a opinion. Now I got to go in on you. Its not a fact of bankrupt rather that there greedy. Tekken didn’t make 4 different versions and then release a game. They made 1 and updated the console version. At least Namco released it after they got the arcade money. No I don’t demand every updated version. I never said I did. So to get this right you think that there going to release the newest with out making there cut in the arcade. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO

Do you mean you've been playing VF consistently ever since VF3 or rather you played VF3 on the Dreamcast, dabbled in it slightly then never touched VF again until maybe VF5?

There's nothing worse than people that think they have been playing games since it's roots began. I won't lie VF5 is my first VF game but I don't make a secret of it and I actually take the time to learn VF properly.

You talk of updated VF versions but do you even know what the different versions actually change?

For somebody with 2 posts on VFDC but has been playing since VF3 you must be VF's best-kept secret or something.

I rarely post on these forums but I'm a pretty common face to see in the shoutbox and even more-so actually playing games on Live. That brings me to my next point who do you even play against? Seeings as I've never saw your name around online and I don't know if you even play offline or not. I think out of the 12,000 or so registered users on VFDC about 11,500 of them are really on playing VF with themselves in their own mind 'cus I certainly don't see them around anywhere playing I can tell you that for sure.

Ever since this VF5R petition started all I've saw is newbs with 0 VF knowledge coming onto these boards explaining how they've been playing ever since VF2 and that they just didn't bother signing up on VFDC until now despite "lurking" these forums for the past 10 years. my arse.

"I've been waiting my whole life for VF5:FS and the game won't even see a western release!" Where the fuck have you been waiting it's certainly not within VF5.

I'd gladly take 5R now with an announcement that we will eventually see a port of VF5FS.

Just the fact that Sega is making new versions is good news.

So what if we get 5R now. That's a new version of VF compared to what we've had for the last several years. We could play 5R for a year or two on the console and then get VF5FS just as Sega is announcing VF6

I'm kewl with the idea that Sega would eventually after 1 or 2 years release the arcade version to the consoles.

Remember the PS3 VF fans were shut out of the whole online experiment with VF. So any new version we get would be a big change for us.

Let's just hope we see some new version on the consoles, any new version is a step beyond where we are now [IMG]

Just out of curiosity, if this game was released on PS3 and Xbox 360, what system would everyone play on?

    Assuming both had online play.

Running a business is not for you. It's amazing how you figured out something that 20 people with over 130 IQ running SOJ's marketing division couldn't figure out. Just amazing.

It's been a while since I posted on VFDC...I've been in Tekken/SC4/SF4 land. Miss lurking in these forums, there's no where near as many trolls/dumb shit as other sites.

Regardless of if it's R or Final Showdown, I hope we get something on console soon.

Just signed the VF 5 R petition BTW.

In the video, Pai appears to have a new mid attack that looks similar to [3][P] and can enter into bokutai.
