They did, yeah. I've seen notices of the petition asking for help at Kotaku, TekkenZaibatsu and SRK.

Also, is there anyone with .GIF making expertise that would be willing to make a .GIF of Jacky's Pak Sao sequence into the follow up? [IMG]

I truly enjoyed the Virtua Fighter series over the years, especially VF3. But it is clear to me that Sega does not care about the VF fans outside of Japan. I am starting to think that Sega just doesn’t car much about the VF series as a whole. Every version of the VF games has had its release date pushed back or some other kind of delay.

Sega revolutionized the Fight game being the 1st with 3D graphics now Tekken is on #6 and VF is still on 5. Last year THQ came out with UFC Undisputed 2009 and this May the 2010 version will be coming out. And we fill out petitions to beg Sega jp to please release a version of their game so we can buy it.

Now it has become apparent to me that the game is truly missing the ground fighting component. Pancratium as far as we know is the original MMA fighting style but only Wolf and Vanessa have a few ground moves. There is no true wrestling available in the entire series.

If they don’t care why should we. If they don’t want our money that’s just fine, we can always give it to the Namco THQ or who ever cares.

hmmm, if you look in the youtube video at 0:30 it looks like that old VF3 technique is back: "Kurai nage", although i guess you dont need to attack with any specific moves,...just get hit by it (in vf3 you had to get hit while doing an specific move before you could throw the attacker..). maybe this is only specific to taka..

They didn't, xyz made a post about it in their tips section but no one at kotaku made an article about it.

Right now I am very optimistically hoping the reason Sega didn't port 5R is because 5FS was always part of the master plan. In other words, they didn't want to waste the energy on porting an intermediate version, and then end up having to leave us hanging like they did with VF4FT.

Fuck Sega!!!!!!!!!! I feel we have been pissed on. Like a R kelly pissed on. Its special. Sega laughing at us signing petitions emails the works. Just to drop a new version and then release 5R to the rest of the world. not because the fans want it but rather showdown will take 5R place in the arcade. SO to end it again how I started FUCK YOU SEGA!!!!!!!!

At least now we know the reason why SEGA didn't response for R!

SEGA updates VF version about every 2 years now, and it take about(less) 1 year to be balanced in final version, such as from Ver.A to Ver.C.

Can we still count on SEGA by releasing the console version?
The time line for home version is so limited unless SEGA announce the project just like they did before on PS3 VF5.

I feel the same way. Remember during the Kikizo interview 2 years ago when they said that "usually when we finish up a version we already start the work on the next one. The work on R started right after we put VF5 Ver. A out" or something along those lines. So they already had FS in the works from the very beginning, which would explain why they didn't want to port R from the start. There was an exodus and people got really pissed off @ SEGA during the port EVO/no FT ordeal, it makes a lot of sense for them not to repeat the same mistake.

Interresting so you chose to ignore the results of Yakuza 3 which without question the same situation we have now (with VF5R) There not going to put Final Shodown to console. They would lose money in the arcade. Have you not learned anything these past 2 years?

All I want to see is an official console release and a confirmed date unless I see that I expect more of the same usual tactics from Sega. The clip looks good but I want to actually play the game not watch it on youtube videos, watching the videos knowing I won't play the game just frusterates me too much

I want to get excited..But..I won't let myself.

2 years waiting for R was bad.

And I still bleed from the wound that is called Shenmue 3.

I'm so stoked that I don't even know what to do!

I really doubt sega would do something that horrible. I'm sure this petition is going to go towards this new installment.

The only concern I may have is that with this being the final revision of VF5 we all know that 6 will be just around the way. We may have to wait a little longer to recieve a game because they may just say "screw it" and wait and give us 6. But I'm sure they won't even come close to considering giving us R.
