    Thank you Tengu!^^

Used google translate to have an idea of what the blog says, and its just the pamphlet that was traduced few days ago, so except the pictures, nothing realy new here.

Too bad they are small, why does sega never use HD stuff to promote the game? But it's still better than nothing i guess...

Just FYI, but the updated blog on the VF site is exactly what I translated earlier. It's the same thing that was in the pamphlet [IMG]

Got Srider to do a quick translation

so they are rebalancing it so the paper scissor rock game is more important attack, guard, throw.

It's probably difficult to see what this implies but to put it simply, vf series has always been a game based upon that guessing game"

VF5 has this system, but they wanted to make it easier for player to pick one out of the 3 when they are picking out their options.
So how about dodge? you might ask
Well, they are going to balance it to the finest possible detail

    Next Topic

Making it is easier to play, but still keeping the depth
They are balancing it so you are not required to memorize every move but you can be potent even with limited knowledge instead of adding character and moves, they are readjusting the moves and game system to solidify the existing characters.

Not going to post the other stuff as Reno has already explained it pretty much.

They took a lot of screen shots already, so the costume guy at the office says to "wait until we are allowed to release them!

They will start to release info soon and here are some screen shots cause words alone is a bit lacking.

    Thanks to Srider and Reno

Here is the first part, I tried to post the corresponding japanese, but that didnt want to paste in here. The rest is about 1 player mode, ranking, etc all of which I dont care about.

    About the game system

    Basic System Modifications

Emphasis on the refinement of the fundamental (attack - guard - throw) deadlock.

This little bit of info might be somewhat tough to understand but in the VF series, guard has advantage over the attack, throw has advantage over the guard and attack has advantage over the throw.

In the VF series, by choosing stronger options in a given situation, the player might make himself easier to figure out.
Well, what about evades? This is being refined till the very end.

The game is being adjusted so rather than memorizing properties of countless moves, one will be able to fight by judging the situation at hand.

Instead of adding a bunch of more moves, we are focusing on balancing move properties, characters and the game itself.

As soon as more character specific information is available, we'll let you know!

Looks like srider and reno beat me to it. Thats what I get for taking some time to work out. :p

It's great to hear all of this new info on FS. I'm surprised that they mentioned the petition as well. It's nice that AM2 finally mentioned VFDC's efforts. [IMG]

I must admit, hearing that the base system and evading will be changed drastically makes me fear that FS will be nothing like VF5R and that the game could lose its depth or something. But I know that developers have a habit of overstating things to make the changes seem bigger than they actually are (not that that's the case here though). I doubt AM2 would change anything for the worse. It is true though, VF5R could use some changes to the formula.

That sounds great though. Not having to memorize so many moves and their frames would definitely encourage more new players to keep playing. And with so many moves in VF5R having such odd properties, it's great to know that they'll be refining those instead of adding a ton of new ones.

Also, those changed stages look awesome... aside from the overly bright light sources [IMG] And I see Goh's trying to get his stage some attention... by lighting it on fire (I wonder if they brought the thunderstorm back and that ignites it?). I can't wait to see VF5FS in motion... and E3 is only 28 days away. FS at E3, you'd better make that happen Sega!

I did some quick analysis of the screenshots over at my site Versus City, but here's the rundown for you guys.

    Jacky vs. Sarah pic
The background for this stage has changed, characters are in their default costumes so no change there. In vanilla VF5 this stage was at nighttime with an aurora in the background, in 5R it was in the daytime, now it's at dusk.

    Blaze vs. Vanessa pic
I don't notice anything too different other than the message board now says the character's name and country of origin instead of promising excitement for all. Judging from Vanessa's posing, this seems like a new move to me. Blaze has a move where he can jump onto a wall and perform a body splash but this seems... a bit different.

    Kage vs. Goh pic
I'm not a Kage player but this seems like a new move to me, or at least the visual effects are new. There's a new yellow flash (probably indicating a counter hit or special type of hit) and there are now wind slashes around Goh. Also, the background has changed again. In vanilla it was set in a thunderstorm, 5R in the day time, and now the house is on fire.

    Wolf vs. Lau pic
Looks like Wolf's old kick reversal. Again, the stage has changed. It's no longer in broad daylight like in vanilla VF5, nor in a raging blizzard like in 5R.

That method of making failed evades more risky sounds very interesting. I think it would work okay. However I think the tracking when you press buttons during a succesful evade should be downtoned a bit. I find it simply wrong that you get punished for making a succesful evade. Or at least make it work bit more.. reliably. Either you get hit or you dont in relatively similar situations.

Also I think that total frames of succesful evade should be reduced so that evaded low punch would always be punishable by 14f mid. (instead of low punch being safe when evaded as it is now)

I thought I'd do my own translation of this line since I read it a bit different. My translation of this line was "These options(attack guard throw) are strong options in VF5 as well, but we plan to make them even more pronounced, so that when a player makes one of those choices, you end up with a more easily understandable situation."

And I'll add my rough translation about the new costume system because I love my Virtua Barbie Fighter.

Sega are adding a new costume called "Special Costume." In previous games, Cos A, Cos B etc were differentiated by different base outer layers of clothes, and you could only change the items on them but not the basic clothing. With the Special Costume, all characters will start off wearing nothing but swimsuits(or similar clothing) and will be equippable with a variety of items. (Note they don't mention anything about new base clothing designs, so it might just end up as being able to mix and match parts from Cos A to E more freely.) Of course, there will be new items as well. You don't see any of the new items in the screenshots, but that is because the head of the item production department asked for a bit more time before they show them off.

The last two bits are about how it's a lot easier to collect Dragonballs, and how there are changes to the grade system so high ranked players can have more "Severe" matches.

I got a feeling we're going to be seeing a lot of girls in swimsuits come the port of FS to the US.

Might be SCIV all over again, but that might be a good thing for sales.

If Sega really wanted to ramp up the fanservice- they'd make female versions of the male chars.

I just wish they would fix the IK so that throws don't look so stupid on smaller characters. It's stupid that the preview video showed off the lack so well.
