Hate to be a party pooper but FS was decided for console even before R was in the arcades. However, I'm hoping that through the petition, Sega will listen to the voice of non japanese players more and perhaps include some of the features we asked for.
I'm looking forward to costume F! [IMG]

Thanks Jeneric, Jide, and Srider for the link and translation.

For those curious on which staff made those comments in Jide's post:

"Everyone's fired up thoughts have moved me, it is very warm, I'm very moved by it" - Project or Design Leader, Haneda (sic?)

"I will try my best in making a game that can fulfil the expectations of VF players both domestic and international" - Project or Design, Igami (sic?).

Katagiri wrote some addtional stuff about the petition before those quotes from his staff. Very rough translation (could be wrong) -

"The other day, I recieved a "VF:FS for home game console port" petition from virtua fighters in this country and outside the country. Great number of virtua fighters inside and outside this country express their desires. Using this blog, I want to show my gratitude.

I am deeply moved. Really, thank you.

After this petition (translation note: I could be wrong here), the staff is full of spirit in finishing up the final developmental stage for VF5:FS. A sample of the staff impression: (translation note: to Jide's, Strider's translation)."

Well, the day it's officially announced, I'll buy Bayonetta.

I'm going to pistolwhip my local community into playing this and XIII.

just wanted to point this out to whoever hasn't noticed.

not that it may mean anything at all, but the status of the Virtua Fighter 5 - Final Showdown page on facebook just changed to simply say "SOON". i'm not sure of who runs the page, if it's SEGA or AM2 affiliated, at all. just thought it was worth noting and pointing out to everyone.

Locally, the people willing to try VF are usually the same ones who play SNK. I dunno how it work if they come out around the same time.

At least I can be flashier in VF then in KOF, where I bored people to death (they were playing Krauser)

I didn't play VF4, so was "Final Tuned" actually the final version? There wasn't like a Final Tuned ver. A,B,C or anything like that? Just wondering because that would pose some interesting questions about Final Showdown.

There was a Final Tuned Version B. I forgot if there was a C though.

Jide said there was a version D too, he was unsure of the changes though.

Dang, version D? Hopefully if there are updates to Final Showdown we'll be able to get them with a minimum amount of pain.

My favorite VF intro music evaar! There was an alternate / arranged version for this as well (at least in the Dreamcast version of VF3TB), and it was equally good. Anyone have a link to it, or know what i'm talking about? Paging Leonard...

I think the opening track of VF3 was called "Rowdy" and the longer arranged version was called "For You".
