i got this from site called tssznews

    http://www.tssznews.com/2010/04/28/virtua-fighter-5-final-showdown-likely-to-see-console-release/

XBOX360, PS3 Edition Could Soon be Announced

The recently announced revision to Virtua Fighter 5, known as Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, has only recently trickled out of the 2010 AOU show in Japan, and already there is reason to believe the arcade game could hit consoles, possibly as soon as before the year is over.

The news originated over the weekend by a longtime, respected member of the Virtua Fighter.com forums known as L_A. The forumer boasted with much certainty that the Final Showdown build will hit a console either by Christmas or next March.

“There are many games that only get to the drawing board,” L_A said, “But I assure you FS is past that for the console side of things.”

Since then, an independent source has corroborated that information with TSSZ News and went a little further. Our source says VF5 Final Showdown should see release both on XBOX360 and the Playstation 3. The latter, if true, is especially important since the original VF5 release for the console lacked online play–something that can be rectified with the new release.

Our source affirmed the release timetable cited, and clarified a Holiday release may be better suited to Japan, while a release next March is more probable domestically. We were also tipped a formal announcement may be soon to come–perhaps as early as E3, which occurs in June.

So, if nothing else, we have some E3 hype to look forward to. We’ll continue to let you know how this story evolves. As no clear evidence has surfaced, we have filed the story under our Rumor Alert section.

At least it's keeping VF on the news sites though, can't do any harm.

It can't do harm, but I wish who ever posted that would have at least contacted L_A before doing so. It's obvious L_A has connects with Sega and while he is doing us a service and providing information he probably shouldn't... I would hate to see him or his contact get into any trouble. I'm sure they won't or else he would have never said the things that he said, but as a friend of the guy I can't help but be concerned.

Well he should have thought about that before he posted in here.. If he was under obligation to be silent he was already breaking it. I doubt LA was, but his contact might be. Im still more inclined to believe port is not coming and this is all just false alarm.

So... if there's no announcement at E3 there's no FS?

    WAT [IMG] C'mon maan...

Every character has move sequences that can be exploited during online play. Just because you haven't seen El blaze's at work yet, doesn't mean he doesn't have any to spam.

VF is known for its high quality and balance among characters. I am certain Virtual Fighter 5 Final Showdown will maintain this tradition of excellence and that the online experience will provide equal opportunity of spamming from any and all characters.

Singling out Lei Fei, or Jacky probably says more about who your personal nemeses are rather than making an accurate statement about who can spam what cheap moves online in VF [IMG]

I'm a Lei Fei player, and when we find ourselves matched up in VF5FS, I want you to resist the temptation of using the 'spam-a-cheap-move-excuse' in explaining why the match went differently than what you expected [IMG]

All he did was state something. Even though we believe what he said, that believing is based on us and this forum, and what we know about L_A.

That news site is retarded. Not only did they take a "he said she said" and post an article about it, but they just put someone's name on blast without any consent. As far as we're concerned, we could make up anything we want to, and that news site would grab that too and put our name out there.

FS comes out tomorrow on the 3DO and Jaguar, reserve yours today at Electronics Boutique and Kay Bee Toys.

Yeah, that looks really made up.

That said, VF5FS as an XBLA/PSN title is a possibility.

They save on distribution costs, and can charge at least $20. Hopefully they can get Microsoft to buff the max cost to $30.
