from what i understand, there's no such thing as a tracking property in vf5; rather that if your evade was unsuccessful or if you pressed anything during it, any move will effectively "track" it.

i don't mean to bring up an issue of semantics if you just mis-spoke, but was there a change to this in 5R or was it never like what i said?

    Katagiri's latest entry, DK #61

I think the top portion is about ranks in VF5R.

At the bottom are questions and answers (Q/A) to what was shown in the Final Showdown trailer. Heading to work, but from what I can roughly guess:

The first Q/A pertains to floating or non-floating combos

The second Q/A addresses whether what was shown in the clip are the actual conditions/changes made to the actual Final Showdown game...(really a big guess.

The third Q/A addresses the Jacky attack that did not knockdown Taka.

If no one translates this by the time I get off work, I will try to do it.

Jeneric is propably referring ot the fact that low backfist is a semicircular in VF5 and therefore "tracks" to one side.

I really hope they took out the 0 frame throw. I like being able to counter what I see.

I know I shouldn't freak out but he said USA in there. That a good sign or a misread?

edit: Can't post the Japanese symbols here I guess.

The Japanese is Deitona USA. Referring to Daytona USA, an old Sega arcade game.

No console release is planned yet as far as I know. Hopefully once we get closer to the arcade release date then Sega will drop hints about a console version. Until then I'd guess we are a long way away from seeing news VF5FS on consoles.

Daytona USA, what Empnova said. I think the part you were looking at, was an introduction to what Katagiri had worked on previously.

Q1: During combos, it seems that opponents no longer float?
A: In the video, no combos that floated opponents were included, but don't worry, we're planning on leaving float combos in there. However, we're thinking of getting rid of the concept of "no matter what move you use in a combo, the total damage won't change too much". Of course, this is going to affect the balance of the game, so please look forward to what we're planning!

Q2: The way the characters move in the movie... will that be in the game too?
A: The video is actually that of only the characters in the game (the stages were removed for the promo video), so the moves you see in the movie are things we are currently incorporating into the game. The moves that you see Akira do near the end of the movie will make someone think "Is that all one continuous chain of moves!?" (similar to SPOD or his new guard break chain), but in actuality it's quite different. The video that we released was for promotional purposes, so the character taking the attack was not blocking(!)

Q3: Jacky's Combo Smash Sword not knocking down an opponent is not good at all! (Tons of people thought this)
A: Well, look at who Jacky is attacking... it's Taka-arashi! Do you get the point now? As for Taka-arashi throwing Jacky as a counter attack, we've received questions on whether or not that's guaranteed, but right now all we're saying that it was a promotional video, so please be patient... sorry we can't tell you everything now!
