He never said that every one who travel there is loaded.. why do you kept getting things twisted L.A.? Rod is not bashing nobody but he is giving his reason why he won't be attending nontheless still being supportive. Im not going because i have priorities that come first but im not bashing nobody.. I want everbody to have fun, Represent to the fullest and enjoy themselves. I just rang up a price for airline tickets to evo and they all was in the $500 range. I don't need a hotel because i have family close by. Rod i understand you to the fullest and L.A. i understand you outlook on supporting the VF community.. Long as Rod Still give his support thats all that should matter.

SDS, I understand Rod is not bashing anyone but what I am saying is whether you are going or not, please don't deter others from going. thats all. Trust me, I want all of you guys to go not just to evo but to the fuudo and chibita event but I know for some thats just not possible. I'm not sure you know but I even offered to help Rod with a plane ticket out to that because I feel he is a key member in the community and there are people that would just go to these events for the chance to play him.

you know what, that's an excellent point LA, I can sorta see why some people announcing they are not going might deter others from going. it might LOOK as negativity (when its not) but indeed, point taken and I agree.

i think from now on, if you are not going, dont post about it. [IMG]

      Gerald,

When I use the word loaded I am using it very loosely. I'm not saying loaded in the sense of being RICH. As I said in my original post back on page 7-8 for the people who are going they have there personal reasons for being there such as competing in other games (VF getting announced being a bonus), socializing, watching all the game matches live, making new friends, etc.

But for ME who is only going as a competitor, a competitor who wants to WIN mind you. There is no incentive for me to attend EVO2012 with a 1K price tag on it with ZERO chance of breaking even. While I can't speak for other players who are attending for other games and from other countries. I can only assume they are all making the trip from oversea with the same intention that I have as a competitor. They are spending the money to come all this way because they feel that they can WIN.

Since the game is not out and I haven't had the pleasure to play it like you have I don't feel like I can win. So why should I go? Just to socialize? Why should I have to spend 1K to support a game now that Sega is finally doing something? Come on man this is me Rodney. The same guy who has supported VF since 1996 when Sega was doing ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. The same guy who moved to Nebraska and tried to start a scene there. The same guy who used to get in his little white Nissan Sentra and drive 2-3 states away just to play in a VF tournament with a pot of $50 bucks and sometimes less. The winnings didn't even pay for the gas and food I spent driving one way. The same guy who bought a PS3 at $600 bucks, monitor, game, high grade only to be snubbed by Sega who dropped a 360 version a few months later which I picked up too. Again this is ALL HAPPENING when Sega was doing NOTHING.

You guys can't get pissed at me for not going and just voicing my opinion and reasons to not attend EVO. Sega, FS and the community still has my support. And I'm not attacking anyone or trying to detour anyone from going. I'm just stating MY reasons for not going.

And honestly there is nothing that can make me happy other than Sega releasing the game. I can sit down and finally put some time in, get comfortable so that I'm not gonna panic under pressure and not input 1 & 3 for TE's when I can only use 4 & 6. This is the other half of my issue with going to EVO. If I'm spending that much money to be there I'd like to be comfortable and have confidence I can do well and possibly WIN.

      Rod,
I never questioned your dedication to the game. I know you have done alot for the community thus far and i'm sure will continue to do so in the future. My goal is simply to get an many people interested in VF as possible so when next time an event like EVO rolls around, no one will need to beg the officials to put it on the roster. Instead it will be a given. [IMG]

Absolutely correct and I was just about to post this after reading LA's post. I can see how my posting could do this unintentionally. With that said I won't post any further negativity in this thread.

This is true and you know I appreciate the offer my brother. Unfortunately it just bad timing due to the streak of bad luck I have been having with life lately as I mentioned to you during our Google chat. Trust me I want to come, but it was just to soon to leave my GF behind while I fly off to play a game.

We are different indeed and thanks for the wishes, but it's irrelevant. I'm winning 1st place because my 1 month of brutal practice will close the gap more then enough. [IMG]
