Would you like to have the FINAL bout running in 60fps video? Because I'm thinking of having one LOW resolution version and one HIGH resolution version running at 60fps. It look absolutely awesome when you see it, almost no different from looking at the game when you turn on your TV.

What do you all think? Would you like to have this option?

    [/ QUOTE ]

if you are gonna make 2, do one of MEDIUM resolution, and one in a different codec like mpeg divx or something, i mean ultra high res is unnessecary and if you wanna do high res, use a better codec i.e. one i can see dammit!

    just a suggestion.

I would like to express my sincere apologies to KneeNinja for this small mistake. I hope this error haven't upsetted you in anyway.

I should have known that it wasn't him (I did have some doubt in my mind as the playing style really isn't yours), it's my mistake as that was the only file I didn't name correctly.

In respect to yourself I have edited, rendered and reupload the file with the correct naming. This have delayed my work target for the tournament videos to go LIVE but I will work extra hard to stay on target.

I'm not looking for sympathy (nor do I imply anyone to give any); I hope people appreciate the work that I'm putting into this. Please remember that the motive of this tournament is in support for everyone here that represent the UK VF. You tell me where else you can find DECENT quality VF UK videos? From since the tournament I have been sleeping irregular (3 hours a day) because I've been working very hard editing and getting the video to the quality that you've sampled. In fact, on the one I have now re-uploaded you can now see another extra graphical effect. I could have simply just capture, name and dump the files up online like what some have suggested, but I'm thinking a BIGGER picture. What these people like together with great action (in videos) is eye-candy and profesionalism. They'll see such things in these tournament videos that I have created and they'll have a great reason to keep it in their collection. Also, it gives people inspiration to go and practise to be as good as the people that took part in the tournament. If you don't believe me then just go to NTSC-UK forum and read for yourself, that was just one example of many.

I'll be arranging the next tournament after Absolution. I hope everyone will be preparing themselves for that one. This will be even bigger this time for as some people know the first was just a testing ground. If some of you remember what I did for the "GAMERS ARCADE CRAWL" (Ryan should definitely remember for he and other took part in it) then you know that this is a mere tip of the iceberg.

Other than that I am a very open minded person, so if ANYONE is willing to help me in anyway or give tip-off and advices to help for the next tournament then I am all ears.

acttually you dont see 60 frames on a TV whenu run VF, its 60 FIELDS! a "field" is half a "frame" so 2 fields 2 a frame
so it depends how you capture you vids, it will still only be 30 frames a sec (or 29.97) the ps2 VFEVO dosnot hav a progresive option, that would then make it proper 60 frame out put, (like the arcade)
anyways a video of 30 frames per sec is more then adiqate
    60frames is over kill!

60fps does look superiour to 30fps videos, although 30 is adequate. To compare, check out some of the OH3 videos compared to most all other videos. You can really tell the difference between the 30fps videos, and the OH3 running at 60.

There you go... Simple answer as any, if your eyes can see the difference between an proclaimed 60fps video and 30fps whatever the true technical jargon may be then there IS a difference. All VF are running at 60fps. So it doesn't matter what techical jargon there is, the proof is in the pudding via your own eyes and AM2 said themselves what FPS VF is running in.

Sure, I don't HAVE to make a 60fps video, nor did I have to arrange the tournament and invite people into my own home. Though some people don't care about 60fps details there are ALLOT of people that do and since they've already given me the Stone cold "hell yeah" chant then I'm gonna obliged. What I will do though is try to get that 60fps video running in a medium resolution.

Masamune: I would like to used XVID but the general standard are QUICKTIME, WMV and MPEG and out of the 3 WMV (version 9) has the best compression in my opinion unless someone proven me otherwise. Not to worry though as I will spend some extra time and make your own special version of the final bout or a bout of your choice. Is that ok?

As long as there is a smaller version availble i dont mind. I just dont wanna have to download 65mb for one match.

Wow Gavin, we are all kinda worried about your health, you gotta take it abit easier on the editing and getting them up online and get in some sleep instead!

We all appreciate you spending so much time on this whole thing, organising, cleaning the mess after tourney, editing and putting vids online, but you are doing more than any of us could have expected and honestly more than you should have. We would have been happy with you capturing the files and dumping them online .

Having said that I'm sure you'll blow us away with your professional like editing skills like you have already with the previous clips.

Well just wanted to say that we(uk bums) all appreciate the effort that you are putting in this whole thing.

btw, if you want help in organising the next tournament, just PM me (I insist) and i'll gladly help out, since I live not too far away from you and all. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

the thing is... VF on ps2 does not run at 60 frames!
in the arcade running on a medium resolution monitor (as it should) it does run at a true 60 frames per sec

but on ps2 it dont, as its held back by the TV standard AND the ps2's video out put!!!

TVs have interlaced video signals to (try) convince the human eye that its running faster then the frames its playing at, so for every frame you see on TV/DVD or VHS, its still made up of 2 fields to make up the frame, so VF on ps2 runs at 60hz, so that translates to 60fields which in turn is 30 frames, (this is probably why peeps complained about the 1st VF4 on ps2 resolution being half of the arcades) anyways games like Tekken4 have a "progresive scan" option, this is a true 60frames per sec, but this is no surprise as 1)tekken4 in the arcade is the system246/ps2 board, and 2)you need a Componant lead to get the real 60 frames (componant can hav high bandwith, hence its use)

i havent seen these 0m3 videos, but if its been captured via analog, i doubt its a true 60frames as the ps2 EVO simpaly cant do it:)

The game actually runs at 60fps so its not really the ps2 it's the tv and am2's fault for not having a prog scan option. But when you have a vga cable it actually forces the game to come out in prog scan running in 60fps only problem is that it looks worse due to the higher resolution. What's weird is that when i did tv-out from ps2 to my Pc it looks really smooth on a monitor even with composite.

If you wanted to capture at 60fps easily you would probably need a ps2 development machine /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Besides ps2 highest resoloution for running a game is 640 x 480 even though it can due higher it's just not feasible for games. Arcades always displayed higher resos anyway /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
