fuck the fanbase. we've already discussed it in the DR>VF5 thread. it's up to the competitive fighting game players. Porting it to another system won't change much but the overall availability.
No online play is good! I'm not about to get frustrated 'cause my simple movement lags.

Yes, I was in fact talking about Kikizo's rumor of it being 2 different versions of VF5.

I also said the game being on different platforms ultimately doesn't matter much. Are you trying to pick a fight or something Fishie?

As long as both versions of the game are exactly the same (same modes and the like), then I think this is a smart move by Sega. If the 360 version is based on Version C, then the PS3 version better allow patching.

    Patching.......in your dreams.

VF4 got 'patched' by getting an Evo upgrade that had a cost of $20 for PS2 owners. I'm betting VF5:Evo will come out for both the 360 and PS3 in a two years or so and then both systems wil have identical games.

With this news I'm probably just going to wait the 360 version comes out to buy a PS3/360 and VF5 to see which version is better. So no VF till summer 2007 for me.

    SCORE!!!

Now i don't have to spend freakin' 2 grand to get and enjoy this game. /versus/images/graemlins/lol.gif

On a side note, DoA4 is officially screwed. With a new nextgen fighter out that has the popular approval of the major fighting game communities. Now on 2 consoles, one of which is easier for the consumer to both get and afford. I predict my poor old game and it's community will get annihilated in 2007. But looking on the bright side, now that VF5 is coming to 360 it will be really easy to convert my old friends to this game. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well I'll get it for the Ps3 anyway there are more games that interest me there.

But this is great news for those who don't want to shell 600 bucks on a console.

It's really more than 600 bucks.

    Cause it's $600 mininmum for PS3
    $60 for the game
$5-10 for convertor, or worse $70 for decent stick
$1000 for a decent HD TV (360 can work fine on standards, PS3 looks..... sketchy)

I bought my 360 last year for DoA4, and I already have a custom stick for (made for Doa4 but it's same layout as VF anyway). And I can play it on a standard TV without it looking like crap.

I only spend $60+couple months wait!!!

    1. There is a $500 PS3. Unlike the 360's core package, it isn't utter crap. It offers the same (hell, more) features than the 360 premium offers.

    2. 360 version of VF5 will also cost $60.

    3. $70 for a decent stick isn't that bad, neither is paying $10 for a PS2 to PS3 converter. And you still have to buy a stick for the 360 (how much did that custom stick cost to make? It'll cost the same to make it for the PS3 too you know).

    4. PS3 looks fine on Standard TV, just like 360. I don't know where you got this. You don't need an HDTV for either system, it just looks a lot better if you do have one though (and that applies to both PS3 and 360). But again, I don't know where you got that the PS3 looks "sketchy" on a standard...

YES!! The is the news I have been waiting for. I am almost ready to give up VF because i will never pay over $700CAD for PS3. For the above poster, PS3 is not a much better system than xbox360. It's "extra" features don't do much for playing games. And many place like Bestbuy, Futureshop (for Canada), EBgames... are selling xbox360 with either games and extra hardware bundle. So XBOX360 ARE CHEAPER. Anyway i am not coming here to discuss which system is better. I am just glad SEGA made a very smart decision. Now i can completely give up on PS3.

Yea, I'm glad it's on 360 now, more people will play the game and enjoy it. It's a pity it's not coming out sooner though.

I just hope that my USB converted joysticks will be compatible.

Now this IS some interesting news. It's a good thing it's coming to the XBOX 360 rather than being a PS3 exclusive. In my humble opinion, the two systems are vastly similar to each other and that Virtua Fighter 5 can easily dominate the fighting game genre hands down. Thus I am glad that SEGA decided to give those who love Virtua Fighter a choice. That's what it all boils down to.

Ok that is not likely, unless it would be stripped down.

Hmm, kinda makes me think otherwise if I should cancel my preorder now and the rush to get a PS3 (I already own a 360).

    That's pretty much it.

How the game looks on SDTV is all developers fault not console fault RR 7 looks like ass on SDTV, Resistance don't.

Well for me that's really good news now it will be easier to find people to play with /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Good news I say. Saves me from buying a PS3.
The Xbox 360 version will no doubt look superior to the PS3 as it has a far better GPU and CPU.

Roll on the days of a single gaming console!

    ^ LOL.

It's going to look the same man. It's a port from arcade to home consoles.

Cool... I mean, Xbox360 is getting RE5 right? Okay, cool... I'll go with the cheaper of the two evils. I can wait longer for the release.

    Better GPU, not CPU.

And having only one console in the market is hardly anything to be excited about. The more competition, the better (well, not too much competition). Anything that's been monopolized is bad for the consumer...

If sega take the time to update the game from B to C versions then you can assume they will make graphical changes.
Not to mention that the 360 handles lighting better which is already evident in cross platform conversions like Fight night 3
